Especially if you have ever been arrested as a juvenile don’t tell them because they can’t know unless you say something. It will stop your military career fast....

    I can barley run a mile. I'm 18 about to graduate and I'm a female 6'1 center that plays basketball trying to play in college. I'm a built but at the same time a "fat person" weighed at 220 and kinda athletic. Just in case playing ball In college doesn't work. Will me not being to run the mile in certain time hold me back?

    • @kidthndr2

    • @LikeLemonCosplay
      @LikeLemonCosplay 7 лет назад +14

      Janelle Niles Let me tell you this: in the past I thought I would never be able to run a mile, let alone 5 or 10 but I realized that I wasn't able to do it because my mind held me down. Our bodies are capable of training hard and running for hours, only our minds are hindering us. Since that realization I just kept telling myself over and over again. And guess who joined the army and can easily run 5 or even 10 miles now? You can do it too!

    • @KingzRicky
      @KingzRicky 7 лет назад +1

      Janelle Niles pretty much basic training will help you get more physically fit. A lot of people end up losing 20-40 pounds if they are on the heavy side. Me personally my run with from 18 min 2mi to a 14 min.

    • @lorklorkman7937
      @lorklorkman7937 7 лет назад +2

      Janelle Niles you will struggle...you will not get better during basic believe me...the ones that get better physically are the ones already in shape. you have to show up to basic in relatively good shape. if you can barely run a mile then you will be DQd

    • @KingzRicky
      @KingzRicky 7 лет назад +1

      Lork Lorkman depends where you go tbh. I know at least two of the basic locations had programs for people to get in better shape before going down range or before being allowed to graduate.

    • @Pimpishone
      @Pimpishone 5 лет назад +4

      You should start training immediately do at least 500 pushups a day and 400 sit ups a day I mean their is 24hours a day so it can be done.

    • @agenericusername2488
      @agenericusername2488 4 года назад

      Pimpishone
      24 hours x 60 minutes (not assuming you sleep) 500 pushups + 400 sit ups = 900 bits of exercise 1440 minutes in a day / 900 bits of exercise = 1.6 Pushups or sit ups every minute.
      Again, not including your sleep. Lets lower it down to 24 hours - 8 sleeping hours.
      16h x 60m = 960m / 900 = 1 pushup or situp every minute.
      Yeah okay buddy lol.

    Hey man, I'm about to join as an interior electrician. What kind of OJT credentials, or trade apprenticeships/courses/programs do you think I could take while in that could help polish my resume for a future civilian trade career once I'm ETS'ed? Any advice would definitely be appreciated! Also, thank you for serving!

    I am glad that I did my research before I join active duty Army because you don't make that much money no matter how many lies I heard I looked it up for myself yes the benefits are good and a money is straight but I took advantage of the reserve benefits that allowed me to go to school and the same job that I have in this civilian world I make three times more than the military and I still get my weekend drill pay......So I really don't understand why people sign their life away like that...... when you can take advantage of the reserve component of the army we wear the same uniform have the same ID get a same educational benefit so why would you want to join active duty

    • @thechillmaster5836

      Tyler Durden same dude. People ask me like 10 times a day “what are you going to school for when you get older” and I just can’t figure out what I want. I’m seriously considering going active army for the smallest amount of time they offer. I just don’t know what I’ll do when that ends though, like do I have to go back to school? Or start college? I’m 17 btw

      Thank you for the reply, although about losing all your freedom, arnt you free once your contract ends. I honestly wanted to just to become a stronger person and maybe use that experience to become a security’s contracter or something. I don’t know though, it sounds like a really big commitment the more and more I look into it. I’ll go check that out though.

    • @macburger5026
      @macburger5026 5 лет назад

      Vo Uub
      It's going to be shocking being bossed around by sergeants over ten years younger than you are. And with the age, I don't care what good of shape you're in, the ruck marches and the constantly daily group PT (which includes ruck marches and even running with logs) are going to tear down your body. You can do Army reserves or guard, but you might really want to think twice about doing Army on active duty, especially at that age.

      Push ups, dips and if you run in your neighborhood you can try running from pole to pole. Example run the distance from 1 light pole to the next then walk 2 light poles
      Hope that helps.

If I join the "Delayed Entry Program" will I immediately be shipped off to basic training afterwards? Is there usually a long wait to get shipped off to basic training? Thank you and awesome video, I'll be watching more of these :)
