    sound advice brother. Problem is most recruiters automatically have the edge because majority of people who walk into recruiting offices are 18 year old kids who don't know any better.

    The one thing I'd say if there's a job you want when talking to a recruiter, never settle. NEVER. Don't let the recruiters fool you.

    • @kidthndr2
      @kidthndr2  7 лет назад +10

      Definitely I dont know why I didn't say that!

      kidthndr2 I almost made that mistake when selecting my MOS. Glad I came to the realization that the job they convinced me to get wasn't what I wanted.

    • @paxtonwheeler98
      @paxtonwheeler98 7 лет назад +4

      kidthndr2 that advice also goes for most goals in life. If you want to accomplish anything, never never settle until you've reached that goal.

    You say don’t be nervous about talking to the recruiter...he’s the first person who will say no . I am nervous af because I need admin waiver for my discharge and have heard that recruiters typically don’t like to put in that extra work.

    Hey how's it going? Your video blogs are great and super helpful. I went to talk to an army recruiter recently and told him I am interested in becoming a commissioned officer. I am a civilian with no military experience. I have a bachelor's degree with a 2.7 gpa. The recruiter said I would not qualify for ocs because I did not have a 3.5 gpa. Obviously he said enlistment would be my best route. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks!

    I ask my recruiter about becoming a military police and he kinda laughed and said theres no opening anywhere. Is that true? I have a bachelors degree in Law and Justice and I want to do something in that field. Also I want to become a police officer after the military.

    Question! I have everything academically that is required to get into OCS. But I have visible tattoos. All my tats are currently in regulations however I know that when it comes to officers, politics changes things a bit. Do you think its possible to get into OCS with visible tattoos? (Forearms) I've seen officers with visible tats. However, I don't think I've ever seen a candidate with a visible tat.

    • @ilikeguacamole9699
      @ilikeguacamole9699 7 лет назад

      Also, I'm planning to apply to Navy OCS. I know that Navy is very lenient right now with their tattoo policy and it extends to officer candidates as well. I just don't think I've ever seen a candidate with a visible tattoo. Anyways, thanks!

    Hey I’ll have my associates this summer and I’m trying to decide if should enlist now as active duty and go up the ranks the regular way although the plan is to be an officer or should I enlist into national guard and do the 2 yr of ROTC while obtaining my bachelors degree and coming out as a 2nd Lt.

    • @kidthndr2
      @kidthndr2  7 лет назад

      I can't really tell you what to do. I can only say to see if your goal aligns more with a enlisted job or a Officer's career.

    • @kidthndr2

    I am graduating with a B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety in four months and I have a 3.9 GPA. My father served the army for 16 years. I have no criminal record, I already passed the asvab and I passed my physical. Do you believe that is should apply to OCS or go the enlisted route? I want to become a CBRN because it directly relates to my degree and I know that they have that career field for both, enlisted and officer. Also, CBRN is a job in demand.

    • @kidthndr2
      @kidthndr2  7 лет назад +1

      Definitely Go OCS, than branch chemical and go get all your certs while in CHEM. You will make more money long term as an officer and enlisted just wont cut it after a while im sure.

    Do most OCS candidate do well in their APFT, for example score a 280-300?

    • @kidthndr2
      @kidthndr2  7 лет назад

      Well the only apft that really matters a ton is the one that starts in the begining before class up. The bravo company average is 283 and thats very unusual. There are people with 250 PT averages.

    • @annabellkay
      @annabellkay 7 лет назад +2

      kidthndr2 Thanks for your response, I should have been more specific though. I am talking about the APFT score for the OCS packet when applying. If you score low how bad will it lower your chances of being selected by a board?

  • @Auroche

    If I have my Bachelors, and KNOW I want to be officer and not enlisted; how do I go about that without getting mixed in with enlisted and never getting the chance to go to OCS? When does OCS happen?

    • @kidthndr2
      @kidthndr2  7 лет назад +1

      You just put in a OCS packet with your recruiter instead of going enlisted. You would enlist as "09S" which is a officer candidate so you go to basic and than to OCS
