Just subscribed and now, getting dressed and on my way to the craft store to pick up my first sewing machine. 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️ My mother used to make EVERYTHING for me, then Father called her to come home (heaven) and now I am lost without her. 😩 Kicking myself for not learning when she was here. BUT, I AM DETERMINED to learn so bye.. need to go get my supplies. See you in the next video 😊😊
Don't know if you'll ever see this comment. But Thank you for making it. I'm a 57y,old biker that has one-one left to sew for me. I have many leather vests with patches on them. My patches are a right of passage in my world (think of a boy scout with all his earned patches on his shirt). I needed to get 10 sewn on and a local tailer said $20 each. I realized I needed a lot more that 10 and I just couldn't afford it. I borrowed a little singer prelude watched and learned. I watched 4 or5 other videos before yours. You make it seem easy and the directions are clear, THANKS
Your videos are the easiest how-to-sew videos that I've ever watched! PLEASE keep them coming! I got my Brother machine a year ago and never touched it, but I finally decided to start sewing after watching this video because it's the only one that made the process actually make sense.
I am truly happy to hear that these are so helpful! I've been starting with a lot of "Intro to Sewing" videos, but I'll be doing more practical projects after new years. So enjoy learning your equipment, and soon enough you'll be making some very exciting things! Thanks for the positive feedback, and happy new year!
I've gone from no experience to tearing apart half of my wardrobe to remake them better looking and better fitted to me. You've helped me to leave behind pant legs that pile up around the ankle, and looking like a melted candle instead of a leg.
lol that's awesome! Very happy I could be helpful to you tailoring your clothes to look even better. The first rule of fashion - "If something fits you well, it will always look good." Thanks for watching :)
I have this machine and I bought it specifically to do embroidery. I don’t want a big embroidery machine, I just want to do small projects. I love this machine!
I have had this machine for a few years and after watching this video, I realized that I have been threading the bobbin wrong this whole time. Mind. Blown.
My Brother was a gift more than two years ago... and trust me when I say, I watched many videos. Now you have to understand that I have been sewing since I was 7 on an old Singer and made everything for coats to suits. At 66 and beginning to thing about retirement and hubby brought me the Brother.. Guess I was scared of it ... but rather that hurt his feelings, TODAY.. was the second time I tried to thread it and run it... I DID IT.. your instructions are flawless.. and now, at 69, you will have to excuse me for I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
OOMGOSH! Thank you so much. I bought the Brother SE425 as a gift for myself in Christmas 2019. I never took it out of the box. I was still using the basic mechanical Kenmore that an Aunt bought for me in high school (1976). My Kenmore finally broke down and I could not get the parts to repair. I had been avoiding my Brother SE425 because I am not a tech person. Honestly, the machine frightened me. I know that many will think that this video is very basic. However, it is just what I needed. I figured out how to thread the machine but I could not figure out how to select a particular stich. Thank you for this basic, hands on, instructions for this machine's operation. I needed it and I have now subscribed to your channel for further instruction on using my machine. THANK YOU.
I have been fighting with threading the needle for years. I guess it would have helped to pay attention to the video, and the manual. Thank you for providing the tutorial that included the automatic needle threader. Yes, old dogs can learn new tricks...through reading and watching.
I have a Singer that I'm planning on donating so the next person can fix why it sews a birdnest on the backside. No amount of threading/rethreading/adjusting the tension works and a girl only has so much patience! I acquired a used Brother SE400 and have been too intimidated to even try it… but my sanity is at stake and I knew I needed to get busy and try this machine. Thanks for a super easy video to introduce me to the basics. You had me at the self-threading needle!!
Happy this was helpful! Yeah sometimes I get issues with the bobbin too. Winding a new bobbin, new needles, and tension are all important, but sometimes it still has problems. Getting a newer machine is sometimes the best way to go 😄
Thank you for showing close ups of what you're doing and explaining every tiny step! This is what I need. I've always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine. I can rewind your videos and watch as many times as I need lol.
Thank you for making things so easy to follow! I just received this machine from my mom yesterday, with no manual. Have NEVER touched a sewing machine in my life, but thanks to you, I at least know where to start😊 definitely looking forward to other videos
Thank you for your comment, and forgive such a long response! Hope you've been able to get into sewing since then! I'm back to making videos full time, so hopefully you're still learning and making amazing things :) Happy 2020!
Thank you so much! I bought my very first sewing machine ever (Brother SE600). I’ve never sewn on a machine and I haven’t sewn anything in at least two decades unless you count a Turkey on Thanksgiving one year. lol. I was able to learn how to thread a bobbin and sew my first piece of fabric together thanks to you! 🎉🎉
Pandemic learning time. I always wanted to do this and I love that machine. A local store just closed up and they had machines on markdown and I could kick myself for missing it. Looks like the Brother SE 400 is the way to go. Thanks for this.
I had the same thing in middle school - hated it and was terrible... Now here I am 20 some years later with my own clothing company lol Thanks for watching! Maybe you want to give it another shot sometime :) Have a great week!
Forgive the late reply, but I hope you busted that machine out and started making some cool stuff with it since then. Thanks for the comment, and Happy New Year!
I love your tutorials, I am just learning as I've designed beautiful dressing gowns but I never used a machine before. I've hand stitched the first one with tacking stich to make my first one but need to finish with a machine. I am quite scared because I don't want to damage it. When deciding which one to buy I watched your beginner tutorials and I have decided on the Brother. I am impatient and hate fiddly things but you make it easy to understand and I will just re watch as I thread etc.. you are a natural teacher. Thank you so much for doing this. When I have made my gowns and website I will send you a link so you can see what you helped me create. I am excited to start now!
I love this! I used to use my moms embroidery machine about 6 or so years ago to make patches, but figured most of it on my own since there weren’t any videos like this one! Now I’m back to trying it again and this time I’m getting my own machine! Thank you for these videos! Excited!
@@TockCustom I ended up getting just a sewing machine, but will eventually upgrade to an embroidery combo one, I was gifted it for my birthday so no complaints here! One day I'll be back to embroidery action! :-)
Great I just was given this machine today! I am super excited. You have a great speaking voice and so far good teacher!! Thanks! Happy to have found you!
Oh my gracious, so glad to have found your channel. I have had this machine for 3 yrs and it intimidated me. Felicia (she frustrated me so bad at first, that ended up being her name) and I are attempting to start a beautiful friendship....thanks to you
This! I been contemplating getting into making clothes and bags for soo long I have soo many ideas just never knew how to execute them! And I feel like your videos are just what I need! Much thanks!!!
Succinct and clear instructions. Your whole setup and choice of fabric is just visual eye candy. Just getting back into sewing here and these videos are very well done. Subscribed!
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and positive feedback! Hope you have fun getting back into sewing! Let me know if you have any questions along the way :)
I inherited all of my grandmothers sewing stuff upon her passing because I was the only one who showed interest in sewing. I have yet to figure out how to thread her sewing machine.. Hopefully this will help me figure it out! I look forward to learning how to sew in her memory.
This video was very insightful. I have been doing a lot of hand embroidery and decided to make the plunge for a machine. (I also desperately needed a new sewing machine) I know the general basics but you brushed over so many good topics clearly and in brief time. Thank you and I look forward to part 2! update: I have also used this video to help me troubleshoot by comparing settings. lol helped me by not having to call tech support. yay!
I truly appreciate your comment. I'm so happy to be helpful with teaching people the basics so they can create amazing things. Hope you have a wonderful 2020 :)
Just found your channel! I just bought a Brother XM2701 since I haven't ever really sewn. So I am looking for beginner videos so I can learn how to use my new machine! Can't wait to view more of your tutorial and start making stuff!
I'm very happy you found my channel! I have a good collection of tutorials so far, but I'm still pretty new, so there will be lots more content going up soon since I just moved into a new studio. Let me know if there is anything you'd like to learn!
I have put off learning how to sew bc I was intimidated by threading the machine. Other videos make it seem like there's 10000 steps and complicated. Nice video, straight to the point and easy to follow. - Subscribing!!- Please keep making more entry level vids.
I've noticed with the SE400 that when you use the automatic thread cutter that when you start your next seam, the thread tail tends to get knotted under the fabric, so I just stopped using it. Oh, and thanks for the tip on the bobbin thread cutter. I've been using this machine for a year and didn't even know it was there. lol Great video Tock.
Omg I never responded to your comment. We talked about this a year ago lol. Hope you're doing amazing Lady, wishing you the best through 2020... Take care of that Juki!
Thanks Tock your uploads are great So easy to understand and you are making me believe I can do something I've been thinking about for years! I think I will get the brother as I know from tattooing and other arts that the equipment you get makes what you are trying to do much easier.. That bag is 🔥 🔥 🔥 you have mad skills Much love and respect from the UK 🇬🇧 BS5 lost boys in the hood
@@TockCustom I just made my first Vogue dress!!! I'm super excited about it. Maybe I will post a video showing the different items I have made thus far.
Thank you so much 💓I love how you explained everything and show . You really are helping. And now my 12 year old has took over my other sewing machine the singer lol and I have the brother that I am learning how to use .
You are the MASTER!🥰 I am so happy that I stumbled upon your channel. You make it really easy to understand and follow the process ( until I attempt to sew it🤬🙄🤣). I was wondering if you would be kind enough to do a tutorial on how to resize a pattern for beginners????? I've tried to follow others on YT and either I am a total IDIOT or they just seem to enjoy more talking than teaching. Your style of teaching is clear and easy to follow, really explanatory and your personality is absolutely 😎 awesome. Great Job !!!!
Thanks a ton for watching - when I was new, I couldn't stand all the talking and non-sense a lot of other videos had... so now that I have some experience I thought I'd try to share what I know in a more direct way. Glad you picked up on that. Hope you're doing terrific!
So glad I found your channel. Kinda wish I had found it before I bought my machine, a Singer 4423. The Brother SE-400 would have been a better choice I think. I scored my machine new off of EBay for $101 so I don’t feel too bad. I’d like to see you do a tutorial on making a back pack from canvas. Your videos are very motivational. Ty
Thanks a ton for the comments and support! I haven't done any back packs yet, but I do have the videos on making a messenger bag! Those are always a lot of fun :) Hope you're having a great time creating!
Got my new 400 and the needle threader was quite the challenge to figure out. But I did figure out that the needle has to ride as far up as possible before thread will pass through the hole properly. Just a little tip.... ugh !!!
I love your video, very informative, good quality video. I think I will go ahead and buy this one. i do have a question, how do i keep the stitch straight with this machine?
I have an easier time keeping the stitch straight when the needle is in the middle, so that helps a LOT. Also just lots of practice :) Thanks for watching, hope this helps!
I just picked up this machine from a small town local sew/vacuum expert and am so excited! Will the J foot do all the heavy lifting ? (apart from embroidery of course) Once I get things going, what feeties should I get next?
I'm not sure what you mean by "Heavy Lifting"... but a J Foot will do a great job of pretty much all your typical beginner to advanced projects. It allows you to do any straight or top stitch, and also any zig-zag or decorative stitching as well. So you can use that foot for almost anything (except zippers). I certainly recommend getting a two sided zipper foot if you plan on making bags, hoodies, or projects with zipper pockets. Hope that helps, thank you for watching! Have a terrific weekend
I've had this machine for a couple years now, Love it, my question is ,, when back stitching is the stitch messy looking ? Mine always looks like a bird nest or similar. not sure it's supposed to look like this, It's kind of messy looking.. just wondering If I'm doing something wrong. TY.
oh wow! I love the way your customised your machines with so many stickers! You truely made it your own! Can you teach how to make custom stickers? Would really appreciate that
Hi, thanks for this video. You really give clear instructions. I am wondering, can you sew thick material with this, such as over mittens, with more than one layer of felt?
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the compliment :) I'm confident this machine hand handle mittens with felt, you may need something like a denim needle, but I'm sure even a standard needle should be fine for that project. A heavy duty machine would be overkill for that kind of project. Hope that helps!
@@TockCustom Thanks a lot. I bought this machine and your videos come in handy, as I have to learn how to work with it. First unpack it, then let's see......
I was recently given a Brother SE-400, but it didn't come with an Embroidery Harness attachment. Any Idea where I can find one??? I am very grateful for this video. I've only had Singers before and none of them were computerized. It was easy to follow and understand. Thank you!
😆😆I’m surfing different bookbinding stitches then YT be like “HEY WATCH TOCK DO SEWING.” Cuz I’m not already splitting my attention on enough hobbies atm. Anyway. Hi past Tock. Hope Present Tock is doing well. 👍🏽👍🏽
Great tutorial. Never sewn anything. Now have desire to make headband for Chinese masks that elastic will not reach my ears. Any tips for elastic headband, or creating an elastic head band with buttons to allow mask to capture?
i found your videos and i love your explanation am new to embroidery and sewing and i realy want to learn more especailly and embroidering thank you and i love your work studio beautiful stickers
Thank you so much! This machine cannot overlock seams, no. You can do a Zig-Zag stitch on the edge to simulate an overlocked seam though, which will work if you don't have a serger :)
Hey just a heads up you threaded it wrong the first time. You should go from the black circle with the white 1 in it to the black circle with the white two in it. In this video you went from the white 1 with the in the black circle to the black 2 and to the white two with a black circle. If you follow the diagram on the machine and match up the rights 1 with the right 2s etc you will get it right. So all numbers in a circle are linked and all number without a circle are linked . I'm surprised it worked though..
Oh, lol. I've been using this machine for 5 years, and never had an issue with this at all. If your way works better, certainly stick with it! Thanks for the comment :)
Hi Tock Customs! Thank you SO much for this video- you are so informative & I love your style of shooting video! I was given a Brother SE350 as a gift about 8 years ago & I was so intimidated that it’s just sat in a box- until now! I figure with social distancing this is a good of time as ever to break it out & learn how to use it. I am sadly stuck on trying to thread the bobbing :I . Every time I starting winding it, it seems like everything is fine, but the bobbin is wound AND it winds the underneath the bobbin seat. It doesn’t appear that the bobbin is full so I’m not sure why it winds underneath. Before I get too invested in this specific machine should I consider trying to resell it? There aren’t many helpful videos since it’s outdated- feeling stressed about my new hobby lol! Thanks again for your videos & any advice you may have!
Hmmmmmmm, thats no good about the bobbin winding below the bobbin casing... Most machines are very similar to winding bobbins, so I really hope you're able to figure it out. Once you get everything running, you'll be able to make all kinds of cool stuff! Please let me know if I can be more helpful, it's hard to troubleshoot an issue like this over RUclips comments, but I'll do whatever I can to help out. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, thanks for watching :)
I'm here watching these videos, but I'm not sure they're in order. Did you make these 'how to sew' videos after the button-down shirt video? If not, I just watched them out of order, that's all. No harm done.
I've been watching your videos for a week or so... Thanks man, I'm now able to use my mom old 1977 Omega Zigzag machine! My girlfriend is also happy because I can now repair her cloths! I do have a question: In this video, you backstitch off the edge of the fabric and you also stich off the edge at the end. Some videos tell not to do so... What is the reason to go off the edge in the beginning and the end of the stich?
That's awesome that your already repairing clothes so quickly! So I always backstitch off the edge on both sides because it makes each end of your seam very strong and secure so it'll never unravel or get weak. Just a habit I do to keep my garments and projects lasting for years 😀
Hello! I know this video is older but I just bought this machine second-hand but I’ve been too intimidated to use it. Your video made me feel much better about it! Also, near the end, you swapped the tables out (sewing vs embroidery). I didn’t get the sewing table; can I use the regular sewing functions with the embroidery table on? I don’t see why not but I’m curious if you’d ever tried that. I purchased this machine strictly for embroidery but thanks to your videos, I might use it for everything as my regular sewing machine keeps throwing fits!
Lol this was not as beginner as I needed. Got given this sewing machine from a coworkers friend and have no idea what I'm doing. Is set up as an embroidery machine when I need to sew but no clue how to set it up for that.
Hello, do you have a video that explains in simple terms how to use the stitch settings? I used to see a lot (when my girls were little, they are grown now). Wanted to try embroidery so my husband bought me the Brother se-400. At this point I just want to see a straight stitch to make masks for this pandemic. My stitch is straight, but acts more like a gathering stitch. Help?
You are an amazing teacher. I don't understand why a machine wouldn't automatically start with the needle centered. If it isn't centered wouldn't that affect the 5/8th seem allowance?
The way the plate is setup is to accommodate the needle being on the left... which I do not like. You can change the needle position at startup in the settings to be in the center, but you'll need to know how to accommodate the seam allowance. Hope this helps!
Hi Tock. I just got a new sew machine Singer M1500 , just because i want to fix some garments.. but… I’m a new and I don’t know how to practice.. Can you tell where or how to start to use it? hahahahahahah, sorry for this question.. Thank’s for your help Tock
Love your videos you are sooooo helpful! I have a Brother Pacesetter PS300T I am not sure I understand the difference in the two straight stitch options. I know that it has to do with needle position and it changes the stitch width, but how does that affect seam allowance? It’s very confusing to me.
Glad these have been helpful! The difference between the two straight stitches are pretty simple. When the needle is on the left, the seam allowance plate is correct, and it's easier for straight line stitiching. When the needle is in the middle, it makes it much much easier for curves, pivots, and wavy stitch lines, but you have to add about a quarter inch to your seam allowance. You can also just measure with a ruler from the tip of the needle to the edge of your fabric to be sure :)
Thanks for the great info. I am a beginner and haven’t made a purchase yet. My question is: if my main focus is to do quilting with embroidery on the quilts, would you recommend an embroidery machine ? Or invest in both a quilting machine and an embroidery machine for each function? Hope that made sense. Thank you.
This particular machine would be able to do both! But if you need a larger embroidery area than 4x4 inches, you would need two different machines. Thank you so much for watching, hope you have fun learning! :)
Hello,I just saw ur video it’s very good to understand it.I have one problem w/ my machine ,it’s a SE400 I bought it 2 years back.I sew my cloths n small small things but when I try to embroide with this thread comes up from the bobbin ,this is a big problem ,will u pl:help me out how to fix this .I’ll appreciate it .thanks a lot.

lol, I love this comment. Happy to help you out! Lots more videos coming soon, thanks for your support!
Right!!!! I wish there was a way we could donate to contribute to future vids!
I so appreciated this tutorial especially this specific series on the BrotherSE400, thank you thank you. Please keep them coming!
You got it! I have PLENTY more video coming out throughout the rest of the year. This is starting to get really fun :)
Thank you so much! Your explanation was super easy to understand and I don’t think I would be able to do anything without your videos!!
Wow, that's a huge compliment! Thank you very much for watching, I'm so happy this will be helpful to get you started
Great instructional video!!! You made it very easy to understand and are very well spoken! Looking forward to more tutuorials.
Thank you so much for the positive comment! Happy this was helpful, will be doing lots more videos all year :) Have a wonderful week!
Wow thank you.never sew in my life but I really want a sewing machine
Omg please do it! They're so much fun :D
Eagerly awaiting part 2! A friend of mine tasked me with learning how to use her machine so that I can teach her!
Thanks for the comment! Part 2 is up now, hope you're having a terrific weekend!
I appreciate you. I was nervous about sewing and this has definitely made me more knowledgeable. I will test out soon !
I inherited all of my grandmothers sewing stuff upon her passing because I was the only one who showed interest in sewing. I have yet to figure out how to thread her sewing machine.. Hopefully this will help me figure it out! I look forward to learning how to sew in her memory.
That is such a great reason to get into sewing! I hope you're able to get everything working and start making some terrific things :)
Love the video! My mom gave me her machine and I thought it was just embroidery and now I know it can do normal sewing as well! Thanks!
You're so welcome! I am still completely in love with this machine. Hope you've been able to make some cool stuff with it!
There are certainly more simplified models with less features. Could save you a few bucks too
you rock! Thanks for the run down. Your breakdown was easy to grasp, the best tutorial video I've found so far.
Awwww thank you for such a wonderful comment! Happy this was so helpful
This video was very insightful. I have been doing a lot of hand embroidery and decided to make the plunge for a machine. (I also desperately needed a new sewing machine) I know the general basics but you brushed over so many good topics clearly and in brief time. Thank you and I look forward to part 2!
update: I have also used this video to help me troubleshoot by comparing settings. lol helped me by not having to call tech support. yay!
Thank you so much for the comment! Forgive the delay to Part 2, Thanksgiving and work has been keeping me busy. I'll get to it as soon as I'm able :)
Great directions and view. I hope you do a video on presser feet and how to use each. So intimidating.
That's a great idea, there are so many types and options. Good thinking!
TOCK! You're the man! My girlfriend and I love your videos!
Sweet!! Thanks for watching, hope you're both making some killer stuff this year already 😀
I have the Singer 6800c and the bobbin goes in the exact same way. I love it
Master This just changed my life , Thankyou !! Thankyou.. your teachings are detailed and to the point wise one …
Read in Chinese warrior voice.
best tutorial ive seen thus far, thanks so much! considering buying this machine too
I truly appreciate your comment. I'm so happy to be helpful with teaching people the basics so they can create amazing things. Hope you have a wonderful 2020 :)
That is a nice machine you have and it have to be one of the top units on the market.
This is an older version of the current machine - which is the Brother SE-600 or 625. Same basic machine with more functions!
@@TockCustom If I decide to get more involved in sewing I may be looking for that one.
@@semco72057 Sounds good buddy! Hope you find something you enjoy :)
Thank you for this awesome video! You made this machine a LOT less intimidating for me!
I have watched a bit of sewing videos, but I love your videos the most! Looks forward to more content!
Thank you for such a wonderful compliment! I really do appreciate it :) I'll have a LOT more videos coming soon, and plenty more throughout the year!
Tock Custom Hell yeah! Have a good one!
@@heyshay4737 You too! Have a terrific weekend
You got it! A lot of other videos bothered me too, so I'm really happy this has been so helpful 😄
Im so happy I found your channel. I can't wait to get started on my designing.
I've noticed with the SE400 that when you use the automatic thread cutter that when you start your next seam, the thread tail tends to get knotted under the fabric, so I just stopped using it. Oh, and thanks for the tip on the bobbin thread cutter. I've been using this machine for a year and didn't even know it was there. lol
Great video Tock.
Omg I never responded to your comment. We talked about this a year ago lol. Hope you're doing amazing Lady, wishing you the best through 2020... Take care of that Juki!
Thanks Tock your uploads are great
So easy to understand and you are making me believe I can do something I've been thinking about for years!
I think I will get the brother as I know from tattooing and other arts that the equipment you get makes what you are trying to do much easier..
That bag is 🔥 🔥 🔥 you have mad skills
Much love and respect from the UK 🇬🇧 BS5 lost boys in the hood
Love your teaching style and that bag is super stinkin' cool!
Thank you so much for watching :D Would love to see what kinds of things you're making!
@@TockCustom I just made my first Vogue dress!!! I'm super excited about it. Maybe I will post a video showing the different items I have made thus far.
Thank you so much 💓I love how you explained everything and show . You really are helping. And now my 12 year old has took over my other sewing machine the singer lol and I have the brother that I am learning how to use .
lol well that's pretty fun! Happy to help and thank you so much for watching 😊
Thank you thank you thank you! I read your replies and I appreciate your help now I can start sewing!
Excellent! Hope you're making some terrific things this week. Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful weekend
Im so happy to have found your channel. Thank you
Thank you again for the video and Info. I like that you get straight to the point.
Those are always a lot of fun :)
Hope you're having a great time creating!
You are a great teacher! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Thank you so much for such a positive comment! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
You describe it perfectly !
Thank you very much for watching
Got my new 400 and the needle threader was quite the challenge to figure out. But I did figure out that the needle has to ride as far up as possible before thread will pass through the hole properly. Just a little tip.... ugh !!!
Yes, excellent point! Thanks for mentioning this to newer folks :)
Can't wait for part 2, I'm really interested in this machine as my first embroidery machine. Thanks for your time and subbed!
Part 2 is finally up! Hope you're doing excellent, thanks for watching!
This is so super helpful and easy to understand, thank you.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback :) Hope you're having a great weekend!
This video helped me so much. Thank you for making it.
I love your video, very informative, good quality video. I think I will go ahead and buy this one.
i do have a question, how do i keep the stitch straight with this machine?
I have an easier time keeping the stitch straight when the needle is in the middle, so that helps a LOT. Also just lots of practice :)
Thanks for watching, hope this helps!
Thank you so much I just received my sewing machine
I've had this machine for a couple years now, Love it, my question is ,, when back stitching is the stitch messy looking ? Mine always looks like a bird nest or similar. not sure it's supposed to look like this, It's kind of messy looking.. just wondering If I'm doing something wrong. TY.
Try to start your first few stitches on the fabric, and backstitch without going off the fabric. That usually helps a TON!
oh wow! I love the way your customised your machines with so many stickers! You truely made it your own! Can you teach how to make custom stickers? Would really appreciate that
lol thx! I dont make my own stickers, but I order my own custom ones on Stickerapp.com
Most of the other ones are gifts sent to me 😄
Hi, thanks for this video. You really give clear instructions. I am wondering, can you sew thick material with this, such as over mittens, with more than one layer of felt?
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the compliment :)
I'm confident this machine hand handle mittens with felt, you may need something like a denim needle, but I'm sure even a standard needle should be fine for that project.
Hahahaha, well 'Past Tock' appreciates you watching, and 'Present Tock' is doing amazing! Happy Holidays!! Hope you're doing terrific :D
Great tutorial. Never sewn anything. Now have desire to make headband for Chinese masks that elastic will not reach my ears. Any tips for elastic headband, or creating an elastic head band with buttons to allow mask to capture?
It would be easier for me to shoot a video on elastic than to explain it in text here, I'll add it to my list!! Thanks for watching :)
Great video. Thank you. You explained things in an understandable and intricate way. I’m subscribed.
Thanks a ton buddy! Looking to bring some new videos soon 😀
Can’t wait. I’ll be taking notes. 👍🏾 Appreciate it.
Hey bud, just put up part 2 of this if you're still looking to learn more about this machine. Hope you have a great weekend!
Tock Custom Aesome. Thanks. I’m gonna check it out. Thanks.
You’re an excellent teacher!! Thank you!
i found your videos and i love your explanation am new to embroidery and sewing and i realy want to learn more especailly and embroidering thank you and i love your work studio beautiful stickers
Great video! Perfect timing so I could follow. Are you saying this machine can serge as well?
Thank you so much! This machine cannot overlock seams, no. You can do a Zig-Zag stitch on the edge to simulate an overlocked seam though, which will work if you don't have a serger :)
Great and very helpful video!! Thanks for making this!
You are very welcome, thank you so much for watching! Hope you're having a wonderful week
Great job, very good instructions and clear. Just what i was looking for!
So happy this was helpful! Thank you for watching
awesome video & would love to see more abt brother SE-400!!
I will certainly be doing more videos on this machine, and other machines like it. Thanks for watching, hope you're doing amazing!
@@TockCustom thank you for these awesome videos!
Just a habit I do to keep my garments and projects lasting for years 😀
@@TockCustom Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Oh! I did a "Part 2" video for this machine. At the end of that video I show you how to switch it back to sewing mode! Hope that helps 😄
@@TockCustom oh thank you!
@@emilamaaYou're very welcome! Happy to help :)
your vids are so helpful bro thank you
Thanks a ton dude!
Help?
I just did a video last week on this, maybe that will help out!
Might have to get me a better Sewing Machine. But I will work with what I have for now I guess.
Work with what you got, but upgrades are always fun... BIG time!
Great tutorial, very informative and helpful 👍
Hi Tock. I just got a new sew machine Singer M1500 , just because i want to fix some garments.. but… I’m a new and I don’t know how to practice.. Can you tell where or how to start to use it? hahahahahahah, sorry for this question.. Thank’s for your help Tock
Really helpful. Thanks for all the tips
@@TockCustom Thank you so much! I hope you keep making more videos!
Nice video, very well explained. Thank you so much. God bless
Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate the support :)
Tock Custom perfect thanks again for the great content !
Ooops😎Your video is awesome. Ty. I’m watching the others.✌🏽👍🏽👋🏾
