Well,I've had an opportunity to try Leitz binocular 7x42 that was made in late '60s.It's trully spectacular how clean and sharp view is in such old technology. No wonder why today's model costs about 2000 euros.
One product made like this care and attention to the detail never be cheap, but the price of nowadays Leica Digital is prohibitive. I still love my two Leica R (3 and 8), who works fine even all this years. Shame that Leica no more repair or support this beautifully and well made cameras.
The menu options at 0:29 say "Datei Bearbeiten Werkzeuge Fenster Hilfe" - German The label on the bottle at 1:04 says "Aceton" - German The one at 2:21 says "Acetona" - Portuguese The label at 4:13 says "Kammer Adresse" - German again 4:24 "Aceton" -German 4:28 "Alcohol" - English probably This is so weird... XD
So, one or some employees come form Portugal and they may get some their stock of acetone might come from Portugal... My God I must be Sherlock Holmes! Jesus imagine you guys walking into a house where you see english and a foreign langage. You must be tripping and believe you're not in your country anymore, or something... I mean common guys. You're allowed to work for Leica no matter your origin, to have a calendar in the langage you want, and I don't think even Leica care that much about what breed acetone they're using.
Well some products are made in Portugal and some are made in Wetzlar - the quality is the same since they are in Portugal for over 40years... . The ultravid and Noctovid binoculars are made in Germany. The Trinovid and Geovid are made in Portugal. And btw. you don’t have to watch what the background says... . Leica is very Open about Theke Production plant and very proud of their Portugal Factory. They are doing a great job there ... .and in terms of Electronics they are especially good!
*My Dream is a NEW Porro-Glas from Leica, maybe 8x30 or 8x35 and a 160/1000 Meter FIELD OF VIEW ;)* *For me Porros are Revolvers and Roof-Prisms are Semi-Automatic and i love Revolvers so much ;)*
I just picked up a Leica 8x42 HD UltraVid I am beyond speechless . I never thought I could see more clearly than with my own eys, somehow when I look through those Binos the clarity is like double ??

I kind of felt like the camera was a little too complicated for me, a beginner so I made the decision to sell
Their choice of music in this particular movie is horrendous. I would rather hear the grinding sounds of the glass in the factory and coughs of the workers while working to make it more visceral.
Instead just save up money over the long term. Good things are worth the wait. Open up a savings account that you cannot easily tough and put away $10 per week and after a few years you can have one. A Zeiss Conquest can be had for as low as about $800 and they are top notch as well. $10 per week and in a year and a half you could have one.
You have a 40% chance to drop those precious lenses wearing gloves. What's important is that; there should be no finger prints, smudges, etc on the front and back surfaces on the lenses and prisms, and no dust particles, as much as possible inside the instrument on its final assembly. My low-end binocular is very dirty inside, and the lenses are miles away behind compared to this Alpha category binocular.
@@jonathanpoon7024 Well, considering that this video was made 8 years ago, not wearing gloves was not a big deal for the company and buyers of their product that time. But time has really changed; in many parts of the world today, we can't buy if we aren't wearing mask and freaking desinfect our hands when entering a store! This is way more stricker than any optics company! Lol.
This is what you pay for when you buy Leica, as you can see from the video every piece was hand finished and fitted. Love my Trinovid 10x42bn's and will never part with them.
I got one too last week(trinovid 10x42 hd), leica is expensive, but it opens up a whole new world... It's amazing. So amazing that I'm planning to buy an SL2, just because I'm so in love with this binocular.
Wonderfull story of a wonderfull product and the music was just magical!
Whether they are made in Germany, Portugal or even Japan, the optics of these devices are absolutely SPLENDID! Need anymore be said?
Very overpriced. It's a mugs brand really.
Leica lickers.
Benswan187 dear americans if you have no brain then please shut up! -
Overpriced? The 50mm f0.95 is the fastest lens available to the public on the planet. Of course you pay 10K for it.
@@jas_bataille There is 1.0 Notilux out there somewhere!
Very nicely done - both the products & the video. I wonder how anyone could give this a ‘thumbs down’?
One of the best optics company in the world.
