Thanks Andrew!! 😊 It was fun to play with this camera, but it’s also a very expensive point and shoot… I think at that price point I’d rather have something with an interchangeable lens… 🤔
yes, NoctiGirl, that is the reason 43 was used, difficult to remember, yes, but Nikon used it in the early slr's before 50mm 1.4's where popular, as they said it more closely mimicked the human field of view.
I am with you on the focal length. I have the CV 40 f/1.2 and love the XCD 55V on the X2D, an effective 43mm. So as good as the new L is I will squeeze by on my old Leicas with the CV and the X2D. Great vid, as usual.
Thanks for tuning in! Ya… the 43mm felt more natural to me. When I had the first Q I struggled with my compositions when shooting because I wasn’t used to the 28mm 🙄
yes, but one other thing, in Leica land at least a 43 is less confusing, as for 50's you have two dozen or more, 0.95/1.2/1.4/2/2.5/2.8 variants to choose from, so a good choice, for a fixed lens camera; as you can, like a Rolleiflex tlr, or a Fuji X100 use the closeup/tele lens adaptors, filters, or other attachments on the lens to get the field of view you need.
Nice!! I know you'll enjoy it! Hahaha I know exactly which shop you are talking about 😆 I wish Leica could start making apparel again. I love these t-shirts 🥹
I am sure Kevin knows this, but I think it is an homage to the original Ur-Leica Prototype which had a fixed 42mm lens. Additionally, the hypotenuse of the 35mm frame is 43mm (pythagorean theorem -- the square root of 24mm squared + 36mm squared is 43mm). Nice overview. I would love one, but have already spent too much money this year on Leica and Nikon gear. If I do get one, I will wait to see if they release a reporter edition.
Oh wow a true photo nerd 😂 I’ve never heard of photography calculated in that way 🤣 It’s a nice camera… but it’s also a very expensive point and shoot… honestly at that price point I’d probably want something with an interchangeable lens 🤔
@@NoctiGirl Thank you for recognizing my geekiness. LOL!!! Yes, it is a very expensive point and shoot. That being said, I only have two focal lengths for my M11 -- 35mm and 50mm. I also picked up the new Nikon Z f w/ a 40mm prime and really like that focal length, too. But I agree. Very expensive P&S.
Thanks for the review. Personally for street and documentary i started on a 50 then 35 finally the Q2 and it's 28. For me the 28 is perfect i can get sooo close to subjects, i also shoot landscapes and the 28 is perfect. The 43 is interesting but not for me...yet 😏 😂😂😂
The 28mm is definitely perfect for street and landscape! I shoot more portraits so I'm more used to 43mm (as it's closer to the 50mm). Thanks for watching! 😊

❤❤❤ Thanks for your real world review. I skipped another reviewer, needing 23 minutes bla bla, for this honest, to the point video. ❤❤❤ Subscribed!
Thank you so much! I’m glad it was helpful 😊
Great video Charlice, as always.
I would buy this tomorrow if only money grew on trees. This might just be the ideal camera for me.
Thanks Andrew!! 😊

It's a beauty. I'm a 28/35mm shooter.. This is indeed a lovely body. I still struggle with range finders.
Thanks for this!
Hahaha so the Q 28mm is for you then! I just really appreciate the autofocus on this camera 🤓
@@NoctiGirl I have a Q2 and a Q2m just for that purpose..
Hahaha wow you are a true Q lover 🤓
@@NoctiGirl Love them! thanks for the reply.
😉
Pretty amazing camera! 43mm lens is awesome! Definitely looks like you had a great time with it! Haha! Awesome video as always Charlice!
Haha thank you for tuning in and your support as always Ron!! I’m certainly enjoying the camera 😃
@@NoctiGirl you are very welcome Charlice! Take care and have fun with the 43! Also, have a great weekend as well!
Thank you! 😊
thank you for sharing.
Thank you for tuning in! 😊
That’s a great t-shirt!
Thanks! 😁

@@NoctiGirl I weakened. I am wating for my Q3 43 from B&H. It is a pocket X2D + XCD 55V.
Hahaha nice!! 🥳

Exactly! Like for my Rollei TLR I have all the closeup lenses to play with and I love them 😊
This is indeed a surprise release by Leica. If not for the new acquired 50Lux, I would have gone for this.
What do you use with your 50 lux? 😃
Great video! Wow the guy throwing those fries did an excellent job!! Cant wait to see what else you do with this new Q!
He ate all the fries and didn’t share 🥹
Love your shirt! I bought the same one in Wetzlar in a shop owned by Stephan’s wife. I pre-ordered my Q3 43 an hour after Leica announced it.😑
Nice!! I know you'll enjoy it!
Hahaha I know exactly which shop you are talking about 😆 I wish Leica could start making apparel again. I love these t-shirts 🥹
Great Video. Watching 👀 from Pasadena CA
Thank you for watching! 😊
Very fast and obviously useful ! It looks very nice. Although, I will resist unless there's a Q3M 43. 😏
Hahaha it’s really nice to have autofocus for a change 🥹 very easy for my eyes ☺️
@NoctiGirl True, albeit that your eyes are still young ! The original Q's auto focus was good, so this should be excellent 👌
The original Q was already great, but the autofocus on the Q3 is amazing as well 😊🥳
@@NoctiGirl More temptation, but I will be strong and wait for a monochrom. 👌
😉

It’s so well put together. It’s no M though.
It’s a nice, compact package! But honestly, it’s so nice to have autofocus sometimes 🥹
