Kind of a tough story about your dad passing, then Swoop soon thereafter returning to the wild. But logical and balanced, in the grand scheme of things, I think. From rescuing a bird to co-authoring a book with a fine artist! In your video, you seem to be the exact kind of chap to bring all this about.

I think your calling is helping ppl heal, the birds and creatures are just a vessel. This guy should be on the front page. If the world paid more attention to the great things like this, we wouldn’t think we lived in a terrible place.
We have a raven guest whom we rescued. He was roughed up by a cat so we patched him up, watched him for a few weeks, then set him free. But he never went further than the backyard and decided to live on the deck for safety and companionship, so I made him a nice big nesting box and stuffed it with a blanket, old shirts, and most importantly a weatherproof warming pad, and that's where he sleeps. He can come and go as he pleases though, so he spends his time hunting and flying around, then comes back to turn in for the night. In the mornings we have breakfast on the deck, and he sits on me and enjoys his toast and fruit while telling me about what's been going on, plus he regularly needs to check on us when we're outside walking around.

What a great story. I’ve always loved birds. When I lived in Miami we always had tons of Muscovy ducks and I absolutely loved them. We don’t have them back here in Indiana though. But I’ve raised robins and sparrows and ducks as well and it’s always a very special blessing every time.
Magpies, crows, ravens and jays ie corvids are extremely smart. From the net... "Scientists compare the intelligence of crows to that of a seven-year-old human child. Crows, ravens, and other corvids are the only non-primates that make tools. Crows are capable of abstract reasoning, complex problem-solving, and group decision-making." Not only do they understand complex properties like water displacement...will wait to use a token to receive more food instead of using the token to get less yet immediate food but a recent study showed they exhibit altruism when scientist, attempting to track magpies, witnessed other magpie flock members removing trackers off the bird being tracked. There's also a fascinating video where a mother and daughter, who feed local crows, were given many shiny items from the crows as repayment/gifts...the daughter's collection of gifts is very interesting indeed...i guess the birds believe we favor shiny objects. lol
@@Tao_Tology Poor crows are getting hit by the H5N1 bird flu that's plowing through the US...the world. It's mostly water fowl, chickens and turkeys (in cramped factory farming conditions, surprise surprise) and birds of prey. Not sure how crows got roped in. It's sad about all of them -- TENS of MILLIONS(!) of chickens and turkeys have been preemtively euthanized by a method called "ventilation shutdown." Look it up (and then give up meat!), it's not pretty. It doesn't appear to affect songbirds, and is said to be way less transmissible to humans than other bird flus, which is good. Still, such a heartbreak of a disaster. Killing birds that we made so we could eat them. Killing them because while they were alive, we kept them in such crowded, unhealthy filth that the virus was able to spread like wildfire and become superaggressive. Another winning strategy courtesy of homo sapiens 😣

As human beings we tend to forget that animals are just like us. Yes there's a language barrier and even a species barrier but there are some languages that don't need words such as kindness, empathy, and love. Animals have this instinct to avoid humans but more often they're starting to realize that all humans aren't dangerous. A lot of us are intrigued and want to understand, help, and love them too. I genuinely believe that these birds not only have seen him with other birds but have gotten word from other birds about this incredible man. Love knows no bounds.
ALL birds are loving and beautiful with their own personalities, as this man has proven. Now lets stop eating the ducks, chickens and turkeys, they're just as precious and there's no need to harm them. Hopefully this guy rescues those birds too by keeping them off his plate -- and all other sentient beings on land & in ocean ;)
@@mikethats4thebirds600 nope chicken and turkey taste good if you wanna keep one as a pet go ahead just as people keep cows and pigs as pets we can still eat them
Well with a corvid there isn't even a full language barrier, they can understand and speak English they just have to learn (no there's no barbaric surgery involved they just have to learn)
Such a beautiful story. The understanding and empathy of birds is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing. I have become very aware of how empathic ducks are, so it makes sense that all or most birds are. They truly understand when you need emotional support or are hurting. It was quite an eye-opener for me. If you are ever lucky enough to have a bird in your life, this is certainly a bonus side to be aware of.

That guy's a keeper! Whoever is lucky enough to catch such a wonderful man, work hard to never let him go. You'll never find anyone better 💕 A true gent and a real good bloke!
Magpie Madness - you’ve become “every Dad” for your Father! Lovely !!
Gorgeous, magpies àre loyal, funny little critters that people severely underestimate. I've had a few magpie families visit over the years and can only say it's magic to interact with them .
This man is absolutely what " human " should be !! Kind, caring, compassionate !! Thank you !!
I think your calling is helping ppl heal, the birds and creatures are just a vessel. This guy should be on the front page. If the world paid more attention to the great things like this, we wouldn’t think we lived in a terrible place.
A firefighter and an animal rescuer. What a great guy!
If I ever get married, it has to be someone with such a warm and caring heart like this gentleman 💖

his dad would be extremely proud of him!! almost cried when he mentioned that he had passed and he just wanted to call him, same man, same.
That is so lovely! I’m so happy for you that you get to enjoy his company. :)
You're awesome...thank you for sharing this and may I say...that k you from your winged friend! ❤
Love the pic from The Crow...
Fabulous. How fortunate you are. I could really use something like that in my life right now.
A person destined to help and save lives. Truly a blessed fellow human being.
HE WILL BE A GREAT AND AWESOME DAD OF HIS OWN KIDS NOT JUST FOR THE ANIMALS.

You're an outstanding human being and I'm certain good karma and good vibes will always be looking for you.

Do you want to accept Islam as your religion?
@@adfa6109 Thank you but, no. I do not believe in the 'Gods' of mankind or their associated religions. If there is (was) a creator of the universe and Earth, it was done to bring life only, not to divide or control life. Humans seem to be much more concerned with dividing and controlling life. Again, I thank you for your offer.
Don't try to figure it out or explain his connection with the wildlife.
Just embrace it 😁
I'm sure a part of his Dad's soul is in each of these animals! 😁

Condolences on the passing of your father first of all. Those birds are beautiful, intelligent and precious.. Saving any animal makes one feel good. This is a great video, hope you sell lots of books and possibly enough to donate wild bird sanctuaries. Children need to be taught about love for ever living creature out there. They must ,at all costs be discouraged from hunting because animals lives matter. Your book should be in the classrooms of schools.
Definitley!!!!! Agree!!!

4 minutes and 38 seconds of sheer joy and non stop smiling. Thanks for this lovely video.
This such a precious story I started crying when he said swoop had left to make her life idk why 😔but at the same time I’m happy she is being wild as she should 💕!! Be safe!
He treated her like a parent loves their child. You raise, love them, make them to be independent, then they fly the nest as they should. That must have been the way he was raised.
I teared up a bit myself. It was just THAT touching. 😊
Swoop had to leave, to tell all the other birds her story..as this wonderful man said, and then all the different birds showed up. That artist did a wonderful thing with presenting proud daddy her art. And that book is a cherry on top of it all. I I would have loved, to see, that daddy and artist fall in love. But that would be far too perfect, to believe it

Caring for a wild animal brings a special childlike twinkle back into our heart. It's an honor to gain a birds trust and a pleasure to make an impact on something so majestic

What an awesome compliment. YOU are special right alongside him. 😊❤
What a great story. I’ve always loved birds. When I lived in Miami we always had tons of Muscovy ducks and I absolutely loved them. We don’t have them back here in Indiana though. But I’ve raised robins and sparrows and ducks as well and it’s always a very special blessing every time.
This has to be one of the sweetest things I've seen in a while. What an amazing gift they are to each other.
Honestly I didn't even know birds could behave like that. Thats incredible
Magpies, crows, ravens and jays ie corvids are extremely smart. From the net...
"Scientists compare the intelligence of crows to that of a seven-year-old human child. Crows, ravens, and other corvids are the only non-primates that make tools. Crows are capable of abstract reasoning, complex problem-solving, and group decision-making."
Not only do they understand complex properties like water displacement...will wait to use a token to receive more food instead of using the token to get less yet immediate food but a recent study showed they exhibit altruism when scientist, attempting to track magpies, witnessed other magpie flock members removing trackers off the bird being tracked.
There's also a fascinating video where a mother and daughter, who feed local crows, were given many shiny items from the crows as repayment/gifts...the daughter's collection of gifts is very interesting indeed...i guess the birds believe we favor shiny objects. lol
It’s probably based off of intelligence. Magpies are actually really smart so I would imagine the have the ability to form connections with people
Magpies, crows, ravens are very smart. They remember people, too, and if you are helpful.
Corvids are incredibly intelligent! I love them.

I think it was your dad sending you all the birds after swoop. He knew it was good for and it was your calling. It helped on both ends. You're amazing. Keep up the good work.
Wow! He's gorgeous, and he loves animals. That's it..... I'm moving to Australia ❤
You just never know where one small act of kindness will lead you. Well done.
At 2:42 that sunset view is beautiful, bless u for caring 🙏🏽 touching video
Such a beautiful story. The understanding and empathy of birds is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing. I have become very aware of how empathic ducks are, so it makes sense that all or most birds are. They truly understand when you need emotional support or are hurting. It was quite an eye-opener for me. If you are ever lucky enough to have a bird in your life, this is certainly a bonus side to be aware of.
2:52 I love how we'd think that the cat was the next animal he meets but it then comically pans to the duck next to it 😂
Condolences on the passing of your dad. Congratulations on your book. As a parent I can 100% say Dad would be pproud. You're a beautiful soul when animals come to you for help.
