"It doesn't matter how difficult life may be, he's always spreading sunshine " I went back a listened to the last line, I miss quoted. It close, but not a true quote. Thank you Sunny
Most animals do, just people refuse to give them the time of day. Personally, forming a close loving relationship with an animal is one of the nicest and most wholesome things we can do during our short time on this planet. We got a rescue cat about 18 months and we've become so close, it's so beautiful. She's so chilled and just loves cuddles. If more people accepted animals in their life then they might find more beauty in those moments.

People who care for the disabled humans and animals are truly a special breed of people. We need a lot more people like that. Meeting another special needs duck at the end was so inspiring.
We rescue and one of them, our German Shepherd, has ptsd and hip/joint issues and over emotional issues. We rescued him from a drug house at 9 mos...32 pounds, burns on nose and pads of his front paws.... worst rescue we've gotten yet. Today he's 3 and has gotten used to light crackling pops in the fireplace but we have to sedate him for the 4th, New Year and nail trims. Still working on his behavioral skills on the trails when other hikers "come out of nowhere" in his opinion. We have a different bond. He is living his bestest life with his 7 other siblings!
I held it together until seeing the cuddle on the "blind date" 😭 So freaking sweet!! 🥰 I felt so bad for Sonny because he was alone and different but it turns out, he's got the best life!! Thank you for saving him!! ❤

What a beautiful and absolutely true thing to say (write)! I love Sunny too. He needs merch to sell and help more outcasts. I know Amber and I would have Sunny’s face on our tshirts :)))
I agree, EVERYONE deserves to be loved, deserves a chance. Perfect is highly overrated, we are all imperfect in some way, that's what makes us special. He is so blessed to have you and your wonderful family give him the love and the the life he deserves. I fell in love just watching him sleep in your hand. So very sweet.
This story made my day. I care for special needs ducks and geese. We’ve had a couple Canada geese who are blind in one eye. The others are mean to special needs waterfowl sometimes and they end up alone. If they’re with others they’ll stay off to one side. Sometimes they are completely by themselves. Sonny is so precious. Thank you for your great instincts, to not leave the Tractor Supply without him. Thanks for your willingness to take him to the vet. Some people get it and some just don’t. God sees you. He knows.
I LOVED YOUR WORDS. I CRIED. YES, I AM A HUGE SAP. BUT I WILL NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR MY HEART. IT IS INTERESTING THAT YOU NOTED THAT SPECIAL NEEDS WATERFOWL SOMETIMES END UP ALONE. This woman is the sweetest person! It's so nice to be reminded that amongst all the selfish and unkind people on this earth, there are rays of light like her and her family. Thanks for being you, and letting everyone see your shining light! The duck is adorable as well.
I agree 110 % . I think it's safe to say that the majority of people reading this would do the same for this little guy. The way us humans have been encroaching on and gobbling up land and animal habitat at an alarming rate , we should make it a priority to help out those animals in need like this amazing woman did.
Author Wayne Dyer used to say: For every 1 terrible thing you hear about - there's a million acts of kindness happening around the world at the same moment. I tend to agree.
Well if that's true then perhaps I've had a lot of really bad luck in my life, because to me it seems more like about 40% rotten people and 60% good ones. And that's being generous. So maybe that's it then, bad luck. Or maybe I was a real butthead in a past lifetime and it's karma, I don't know. That's a lovely thought, though. I hope it's true.
Everyone deserves a chance ! Sunny made his way with those who cared ! His purpose was to "bring sunshine" to those who care ! Great story .. Thanks for caring and sharing !
Tell that to nature. Right now somewhere in the world a baby just died...... and another 1......... and another 1. Right now in the world someone is getting brutally murdered..... and another 1........ and another 1.
The world needs a lot more people like you in it to show compassion, love and acceptance. Even having challenges, Showing patience and determination gave that duckling a chance 🙂
I've had a lot of chickens, hand raised from chicks, and there is one with a leg problem I left at the store. I'd recently lost a few of my first group of girls and if that chick had died it wouldn't have been good for my mental fortitude at the time. I heard the employees talking and saying any hurt or struggling chick's went to this rescue lady at the end of the week. One of the older employees gave her a few friends in a special bin so she didnt get trampled or lonely. But i always wonder about that little chuck. I was much younger too, and have nursed many girls to health or to a peaceful, dignified end. Part of me wishes I'd gotten her
That’s so sweet. Having a disable animal can help your kids have empathy for those who has disabilities. I’ve always wanted ducklings and ducks, they are just so precious. May sunny live a long fullfilled life full of happiness and fresh water
Animals are here not only for us to care for as guardians but to teach us unconditional love. That includes pigs, cows, chickens, lambs & fish (not food)!
I loved this! So many animals, if given the chance to live instead of being euthanized because of disabilities could be just like Sunny. They all deserve a chance at life, thank you for giving Sunny that chance. I can't imagine a more loving, sweet, and remarkable feathered friend for your family and animals alike than this amazing little duck who looks extra cute with that tuft of feathers on his head!
He is very cute, however the mutation that gave him the tuft also resulted in his skull not fully forming to cover his brain, leading to those struggles. It’s an important reminder for us to prioritize the health and quality of life of animals over breeding for aesthetic.
Agree. So many animals would be happier living their lives instead of being slaughtered. They all deserve a chance at life especially because most animals are slaughtered at only a few months, just babies, really.
Ok, I admit I have tears in my eyes, I can barely see the keyboard! What beautiful people! You are honestly amazing people and your kids will truly be following in your footsteps.
Sunny would be awesome to take around to schools to teach children that not everyone is born the same, but that it’s okay and to never leave another out because they are different and that our differences make us special. If taking Sunny around to schools wouldn’t be a great idea, the owners could write a children’s book about Sunny. ❤️
Oh Lord, if this doesn't put a smile on your face and a tear in your eye, you haven't a soul. This is a very special creature who was found by some very loving and compassionate humans. We can all learn from Sunny and his adventures. Sunny has a blind friend just like him, LOVE that he can connect with another being like him. He has a family that loves him to the moon and back. Wishing sunny many years of good health and happiness. A wonderful feel good story
This woman has such a precious heart! I love that she took the time to see the weakest and most needy and offered love and a home. She reminds me of the love God has for each of us. Love this so much! 💗
If my parents had loved me half this much who knows how much I would have accomplished in life... Blessings to this woman for reminding the world what *Unconditional Love* is. 💕
LOVE THIS POST. And same here, yet I do not blame them. They had way way word than me. however you are right by thinking we forgive and pay forward - I love my parents, so imperfect yet so human. x x x
It's so cool that even animals can find a new tribe when their own kind ostracizes them. What you did for Sunny is amazing and thanks for sharing what an inspiration he is for us all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Special needs animals are some of God's most glorious gifts to us. I rescued a blind/deaf/short jaw/enlarged heart double dapple Dachshund. Gilead was piece of cake to train. He was the joy of my life for 13 years. They love HARD, as if they know you rescued them. Thank you for being an angel to Sunny. We need more of you.
I agree Fran. Rescued animals do seem to love us more and I think you’re right. They know they were saved and they couldn’t be more grateful. Great comment you left! And I believe we will all see our Gileads (or spot , or fluffy and every pet’s name) again and that’ll be a glorious day
Oh wow, that was without a doubt one of the most heartwarming stories I've seen. The bit where he got to hang out and play with another duck just like him was so precious. 🥰
🥰😁🐣I love just about everything about this story (except for the medical issues and rejection of other ducks that Sunny faced)! Sunny is adorable and he clearly has a very close the bond with his family! I have gotten ducks from tractor supply in the past so that resonated with me as well! The idea of a “blind date” is cute too! Great story and video!
This story brought tears to my eyes. I had a special pug named Sunny who was deaf and half blind. He was 15 1/2 when he passed in 2015. Special needs animals give so much back to their caretakers. Bless you for Knowing you needed to save this special little soul.💖
I have a deaf Pomeranian and he is very special to our family. I want to post a video about him because he is full of spunk and humor. He makes us laugh many times a day.
We actually have a special turkey, she is blind on both eyes though she finds her way around the coop. She is having a full life we love her very much. We put other animals with her to keep her company and I think that she is doing very well. Bless ur heart for also taking care for special animals
What a wonderful heart warming story, Sunny is so obviously a happy soul living his best life, a life he wouldn't have had without his family of 2 and 4 legged beings :)
What a heartwarming story, and much appreciations to those who are willing to create a fulfilling life for animals with special needs, especially as in the wild they wouldn’t have survived beyond birth.
Thank you, Sarah, for adopting Sunny. He’s thriving in your family. His name fits him perfectly. All of the animals love him. Thank you for sharing Sunny and his story with all of us.
he's so sweet! it's sad the other ducks excluded him. I'm glad this lady saved him, and her animals befriended him. It would be nice if they could acquire that other special needs duck to be his companion.
I bawled through this whole video. Sunny reminds me so much of my duck Taco. Taco wasn't blind but did have the same genetic condition (we also acquired Taco from TSC). Tacos fluffy spot was bigger than Sunnys, it pressed on the brain and caused balance issues so Taco had to have a wheel chair. She died in 2019 and I still miss her so much. 😔 I hope Sunny lives a long happy life.
So Sunny likes doing "duck zoomies" ! A ray of sunshine , that's Sunny !! God bless you Sunny and your forever family ! Thanks for caring and sharing and I'm happy too !!

"What makes him different is what makes him special" Sunny the adorable duck! Thank you for giving him a chance at life. God bless you and your family.
This story touched me so deeply, I have tears down my face. I have always rescued animals no one wants, including special needs. I just lost my 19 yr old special needs dog, Peggy a month ago and it broke my heart. Shortly before she passed, a blind puppy literally showed up at our door. After trying to find her owners, no one came forward, so we kept her and named her Annie. I am not on instagram nor facebook but if anyone knows these beautiful people, please tell them I am so happy to share this earth with such angels. I am so happy they gave Sunny the love and care he deserves. Much Love, from Texas
This is probably one of my favorite GeoBeats stories. How heartbreaking that no other ducks would play with him, even as he was older. How lovely that he has his furfriends, human family and then finally another duck to play with and snuggle. Thanks for saving him!
All in all even though the other ducks don't pay attention to Sonny, they actually did him a big favor...... Sonny actually got the best end of the deal because he has a family full of other animals and humans that love him unconditionally forever. Sonny has it made where he's at.
can’t blame the other ducklings, though-it’s their only defense against diseased ducklings. It may appear cruel but it’s a protective response that benefits the clutch
When he and the other similar duck have their date at the Farmer’s Market and an obvious instant kinship develops between them? That was it. I’m crying pretty hard now. What a beautiful story and wonderful home and humans Sunny has! 🥺😭💕❤️

This is about as precious as it gets! Animals change human lives, and animals lives matter! We all need a little Sunny in our day to day, don’t we? ❤

Thankful for this family that cares for all living things. In a world that is slowly disintegrating, more people like this would create a better world.

What a beautiful and absolutely true thing to say (write)! I love Sunny too. He needs merch to sell and help more outcasts. I know Amber and I would have Sunny’s face on our tshirts :)))
Now if we could just convey that to all human beings we'd be sorted.
I agree, EVERYONE deserves to be loved, deserves a chance. Perfect is highly overrated, we are all imperfect in some way, that's what makes us special. He knows.
Bless your soul!
I LOVED YOUR WORDS. I CRIED. YES, I AM A HUGE SAP. BUT I WILL NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR MY HEART. IT IS INTERESTING THAT YOU NOTED THAT SPECIAL NEEDS WATERFOWL SOMETIMES END UP ALONE. THIS IS A SADLY, TRUE OF HUMANS AS WELL. WHEN A CHILD HAS A LEARNING DISABILITY, EPILEPSY, CATAPLEXY (AS MY GROWN DAUGHTER DOES) PEOPLE CAN BE PRETTY CRUEL. I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS SICK WAY TO TREAT ONE THAT IS CHALLENGED. MY DAUGHTER LOVES ANIMALS (NO SNAKES, THANK YOU!) STILL, PEOPLE DON'T ALWAYS UNDERSTAND WHAT ANOTHER PERSON IS EXPERIENCING AND THIS IS UNFAIR. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO FOR ALL THE DUCKS AND GEESE YOU HAVE TAKEN IN AND LOVED. AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW, GOD WROTE, "IF YOU DO UNTO THE SMALLEST OF THEM, YOU DO IT UNTO ME." SO, GOD IS PLEASED I WOULD BET FOR SURE WITH YOUR LOVE AND YOUR KIND HEART. THANKS FOR SHARING, MIL!

What a beautiful, loving and kind family. Sunny, you hit the jackpot with this family and they did too, finding you.
Agree. Is it no wonder that some wouldn't think twice of euthanizing a precious animal when they don't give a dam* about killing a human.
Agree. So many animals would be happier living their lives instead of being slaughtered. They all deserve a chance at life especially because most animals are slaughtered at only a few months, just babies, really.
