Why do you think Dudley was so drawn to this family?
Cats do cat things for reasons which are grounded in cat logic and since I am not a cat I'm not going to speculate as to what his reason was.
I’m not sure as five years is way too long.
Animals have a sixth sense about people. He was raised with love so he was completely absent of fear to humans. He probably wanted more love and attention wherever he could find it.
Dudley saw ghosts at the other house. :P
They knew each other in the previous life but only the cat remembered?
How can anyone resist years of that incredible charm???
Dudley's dedication is unmatched! From waiting in the snow to winning your heart , he's proof that love and determination can break down any barrier. What an amazing cat and story! 😻✨
Cat spends 5 years vetting questionable family where Haitians were eating their friends
She did say she was allergic.
Because it already had a home.
@@Beeti1 But it still took 3 of the 5 years to warm up to him as a visitor.
He’s a handsome fella, and your yard is gorgeous.
He is also a gentleman!
@ who could expect anything less from a handsome fellow like him.
Beautiful words, thank you!
The cat is like "Took me 5 years to tame her."
Haha
Most underrated comment
Dogs have owners, cats have staff.😊
Slowest tame ever. He must have -1 catrizzma
😂
The fact that she's not allergic to Dudley shows that he was meant to be hers. This is such a sweet story❤❤❤
I used to be terribly allergic to cats till i got my first rescue who was a blind kitten. Since then i brought in 5 more rescues. Some sadly passed but somehow i still ended up with 6 cats as others came unexpectedly to my house. 😅
Allergies change depending on the environment and situations. Also I think every 3 years or so your allergies do another dice roll.
You could be allergic to cats your whole life and suddenly not be, it's just in this woman's case she hadn't ever considered getting a cat due to her having allergies in the past
@@pneumaofficial9581she says in the video she’s still allergic to other cats though, just not hers
What an honour to be chosen by a cat. Dudley knew what he wanted, and held out till he got it. He's proof of the power of positive thinking!
5 years! It would take me 5 minutes to cave! that is some serious resolve on both their parts.. 🤣🤣
Umm he had a family lol
You wrote that before watching I assume 😂, I said the exact same thing to my husband after reading the title... then I watched it and it made sense
Me too Michelle. If I moved to a new home & that beautiful cat came running up to my back door, I’d just open it & say welcome home. It’s still hard to believe it took them 5 years!
Good point! Cat had a lot of patience❤ good for him
She did say she was allergic to cats and dogs. In the end, she realized that Dudley did not give her the usual allergies she experiences when she is with her sister's cats and I assume other cats.
My mother is allergic to and very scared of cats. when we were kids we once had a calico manx kitten show up on our porch one freezing night that i begged my mother to let in because of the cold. She agreed but said once she started having any allergy issues the kitten would have to go somewhere else. She never had any issues because the manx hair was closer to rabbit fur, which my mother wasn't allergic to. She grew up to be a loved member of our family
🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
that’s wonderful 😊
Some people, myself too, are allergic to under fur. Cats like holy Birma, we have for a long time two of them, have a lot of fur, but no under fur. The long hair of the cat in this video could be related to an Birma mix, which would explain why their is no allergic reaction.
It's not hair but saliva.
No telling cats choose their people
You resisted THAT FACE for 5 years?? !! How is that possible 😂❤
Yeah, he's so adorable and sweet and those meows.
perhaps the allergy she said minute into the clip
He wasn’t a stray. He belonged to the family behind them.
I knoowwww😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
@@dcon4762 One of mine was the same... preferred to mix up between the ones who 'owned' him and me. When they had to leave...he cat stayed. Humans don't own cats. The cat owns us.
He went where he was needed most. They truly are healing beings.
Yes I agree. I was always a dog person until I was offered a tiny kitten just a week old who wasn’t growing so I offered to syringe feed him and I fell head over heels. He passed on 3 years ago sadly but the love affair with cats continued and I have 4 rescue cats now! They are everything to me. I honestly couldn’t live without them. Amazing animals
Perhaps his owners did not give him attention .
He loves the big garden and he wasted no time but invested 5 years for his new home. And he def loves the woman. Shes so kind and lets him do his own thing. Thanks to the neighbors. Heartwarming stuff.
He is VERY special. Clever, alert, ... talkative, his expressions are mind-blowing. He is maybe one of them old souls.
His staring and paying attention looks so focused and intense, as if he’s trying so hard to understand them and is memorizing things about them ❤ bless his dear heart ❤
I don't think he's a "maybe old soul" I think he's a definite old soul. Wish he was mine❤
Bobards !
He knew you needed him. He's a gorgeous boy and I'm so happy for her to be graced by being his chosen person. Beautiful story!
His owners showed their love for him by letting this couple adopt him.
If you love something set it free 🥺
@@GlitterGuru Yes, hard as that is.
nah.this people don't deserve that cat.it took 5 years for them to adopt that cat
@@ramilmontesena2674 You need to rewatch. You missed the story.
@@ramilmontesena2674 and this guy don't deserve to comment because he don't even understand the video.
What a distinguished looking gentlemen of a cat. He is gorgeous. Beautiful markings and his chirps and meows and stare is everything 😊😊
Dudley is magic, perfect, you are so fortunate all of you.
Sometimes animals choose you not you choose them.❤
"This lady took me so much longer to win over than the painter lady that used to live there. "-Dudley the cat.
@anthonylucero True. My daughter went to choose a cat to adopt but the cat literally chose her 😊.
I agree
Exactly like how i chose my partner..
100%
We had a tuxedo cat show up at our new house shortly after moving in. Months later, we found out the house we bought was his house -- the previous owners left him, apparently. Well, he's our cat now and living a good life with regular meals, indoor time when he wants it, and a heated little house outside.
The poor sweetheart 😢 So glad you look after him/her now.
Thank You for accepting him! So cruel that people can leave their cat behind!!
Sounds like he took matters into his own hands 😁 When we purchased our current home, two cats (who turned out to be siblings) would show up, inspect the house interior, then leave. My 'new' neighbor had forgotten to mention they had been born next door and abandoned. All the neighbors made a game of spoiling the tabby pair to see who they would winter with--I'm talking prime rib, etc. They weren't anyone's cats; they were EVERYONE's cats.
@@busterdee8228 Collect money from your neighbors and take them to the vet. Otherwise, you will all have kittens. Each of them will have their own.
😊that’s fantastic. 😁
He's not really a cat....he is an angel without wings and wrapped fur❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
With retractable claws long canines and sharp carnassials.
But it took them 5 years to notice that .
💯
He’s an AMAZING looking cat 🐈⬛. I couldn’t resist his charm either. 🐾🪴❤
Glad that Dudley insisted you guys adopt him! He’s beautiful!
Dudley is one handsome gentleman with the patience of an angel 😌
How could it take 5 YEARS to fall in love with that cutie?
It didn't. Watch the vid.
I agree; however, they did know that he had a good home elsewhere...
After watching the video, I feel like it took 5 years for them to admit they had fallen in love with him. I'm pretty sure they'd already accepted him as part of their family long before then.
He wasn’t a stray he lived in the house behind them and had a cat door where he could come and go as he pleases but he chose to be in their garden
Exactly! It took me half the length of the video!
What a splendid magical story. 🐈⬛
Just had something similar happen to us. A 2 month kitten showed up to our house. I have allergies to animal hair but zero allergies to this kitten. And the kitten is so considerate to our time never bothers us and just shows gratitude daily for us allowing her to stay. Truly an amazing creature. Brought so much unexpected joy to our lives
Did you adopt her?
Did you get her spayed so you don't have kittens in three months?
Yes adopted her and she’s been to the vet twice for all checkups and vaccines she’s still 4 months old so we have two more months till she can have the operation so we keep an eye on her outside as well. I build her cat castles daily and she gets so excited each time. So crazy cute. Play hunting games with her for probably 4 hours a day.
I don't know if it is possible to gain immunity to a particular cat hair you are constantly in contact with, but in either case... God's gift.
I would instantly want this persistent cat. He has determination & personality!
A sweet chatterbox
What a handsome little man!
Oh my word! ❤ I laughed, I cried, and I totally fell in love with Dudley too. What a perfect example of two souls who were made for each other, she’s not even allergic to him. ❤ This video is my favorite part of today ❤
Omg he is. So beautiful he knew what he wanted❤️💙
AMAZING!! I don’t know how you could resist him that long!! He’s absolutely beautiful!! 🙏🏼🌈❤️🕊🐾
What a happy and joyful life. So happy for the three of you. Bless you all.

This really made me laugh! 😂
Yep, men disregarded as usual, nothing changes

LOL good point
Lol. I thought the same.
Beautiful story, we had a neighbor’s cat choose us years ago, she actually lived with 2 neighbors before she spent her remaining days with our family. We felt very blessed to have Bella with us!
I always liked that name. It goes so well with 'sweet.'
My neighbour used to kick their cat out night, didnt matter if it was raining or snowing. Their cat used to come up to my husband for attention, and would wait every night for him to come home. Our cat Simma was very ill, and George wormed his way into our home and heart and never left. My husband and George were like two old souls. His owners didn't care if we took him into our home and gave him lots of love & a warm and safe place to sleep at night. We had him for 5½yrs and he was such a gentle fluffy ginger cat 🐈 ❤
Did George keep watch over Simma?
Heartbreaking... God bless you for taking him in....we had a similar story...
How sad! Love you for rescuing. Some ppl don’t deserve pets or any animal period.
@r1nc3w1nd7 yes he did, George was so gentle and loving, and loved wotsits (cheese puff crisps/chips) We rescued Simma (cinnamon) from RSPCA at 8mth and we had her for 14yrs. My daughter friend cats had kittens and we got Pickle as George was lonely. We now have Pickle 6, and Jasper 1 🐈 🐈⬛️ .

His previous owners were a gem. Freedom to move is really important for pets
But nights with rain and snow is‘nt!
@@mariavangelderenhastreiter2098 the cat could just walk inside if it wanted too
@@mariavangelderenhastreiter2098 Yes, the cat was free to live indoor but she enjoyed freedom more. If rain and snow hurts she would by herself have stayed in.
He’s absolutely gorgeous and loveable. Oh my word.
Dudley is GORGEOUS! Stunning.
That cat knew where he wanted to be from the day that lady moved into the house
Cats are magic, they just know who their human is and they will go for it!
He is GORGEOUS!!! and LOVE The Way He Trots Through The Yard
Wow unconditional love is beautiful to see

Everyone has his best interests at heart. Everyone loves him. What a life❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh, I cannot really express how happy this story makes me! Absolutely wonderful!
Impossible to resist such ardent courting!!
What a gorgeous destined friendship.
That cat saw how lonely she was and that was that.. A cat will do what a cat does. Bring love and happiness to peoples lives 🍀🍀
A lot of cats don't bring love & happiness, they just bring arrogance & scratches & only play the charm game when they want something.
@@axelfoley1768 I think you are referring to human beings not cats!
What a sweet and magical cat. I hope you're all happy and continue to enjoy such a creature.
What a beautiful, loving cat, creatures like these should rule the universe.
Anything that wants to rule doesn't have such traits.
They do. We just pretend otherwise.
Awwwww!!! I love this story!! He's so beautiful! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was diagnosed of severe asthma stage 3 copd, non smoker, a few inhalers, nebulizer and steroids and allergy shots for many years, then I chose to adopt cats that no one wants, I stop thinking my misery and give love to animals, I now have 5 indoor cats, one is handicap and takes care 5 outdoor cats, there are always allergies not just cats, there are unseen indoor and outdoor molds, air pollution, stress and amongst others, the earth is not pure and clean, we all have our share with what ever is out there, I chose to focus on loving and caring for others to take the load of feeling my own misery, animals are joyful😀POV: We don't know that they are allergic to us too, might as well get used to it and it will diminish and go away on its own, I reaffirm and renewed my thought process and it does not bother me. Thank you for taking in kitty with love and care. GOD bless you both🙏
I have tears streaming down my face 😭😩 such a touching beautiful story. He chose you...he was very patient and persistent,it payed off. This warms my heart ❤️😍
Thank you for adopting and loving Dudley so much 🙏🏻🍀🌟🌷🧡😸🎊
Empty Existence = a world without animals (and our fur babies). Well said, Jen
He's beautiful. So happy for all of you
We had the same thing. I’m not a cat person, we move a lot so I’ve never been able to have the dog I always wanted until we moved into one house where a cat, 2 years old at the time, had also moved into the neighborhood about a month after us.
She spent all her time at our home, when the owner moved they took the cat with them and 3 days later, shaking and scared, in the middle of the night, she meowed at our door then hid for a day after eating. A few weeks later the owner came back and the same thing happened. Where they didn’t even bother again, I still have no idea how far she traveled to get back to us and how she found us as they took a car to bring her to the new house.
So 12 years later, she’s still with us and moves wherever we go.
Omg 🥺😍
5 Years? Her heart must have been made of stone! He is a beautiful, affection big boy and anyone would have loved to be his mom or dad. What a sweet story. My daughter and her BF were walking home one day and a beautiful but skinny grey tabby followed them home. I let him sleep in the garage at first not knowing if he was aggressive or not. I fed him( too much) and he became chubbier and chubbier and won my heart completely. We knew he didn't belong to any one because he had been fixed and his ear clipped. Sadly, he was hit by a car and I brought him home and buried him in our back yard. I still cry when I think about him. He would lie next to me and put his right arm over my chest and his head in the crook of my chest! We just had to put down another kitty we had last week, and we are grieving him too. I don't trust anyone who doesn't like animals. Thanks for your story!
Perhaps the people who owned your house previously were friendly with Dudley. A lot of cats have "second" homes.
He’s definitely a loving,gentle giant !
What a beautiful, ever patient charming creature. Thankfully Dudley is home where he chose and has the love and care he so deserves. What a absolute doll he is. 🤍🖤
That's just adorable. What a smashing cat! And I'm so glad his people were able to adopt him in the end.
He obviously wasn't wanted or loved where he lived before, please take good care of this special cat he loves you so much.
Gorgeous cat, beautiful garden, wonderful family.💕
OMG, this cat is so beautiful and adorable. I would’ve adopted him immediately! He is amazing!
This is the best story that I have ever heard !! There is definitely something very special about that cat! He knew he would be your family forever !
FIVE YEARS ?? I loved him the moment I laid eyes on him 🌷
The previous owners of that house definitely fed him 😂
Love his face markings, very unique!Glad u adopted him and has a loving home❤❤❤❤❤
Damn handsome cat.
What an amazing gorgeous cat so sweet and playful like a dog!! I don’t know how you could wait 5yrs watching him and not love him… I’d have brought him in long before that occurred! I’d have taken about a month and tell the neighbor where he’s at especially in the snow ⛄️
I hope they try 'fetch' with a smaller object. Mine chases wadded paper, then comes back and drops it at my feet to repeat. When she's done, she shreds the ball.
They are so fortunate to have Dudley. The way he shows off his belly tells you how much he feels loved. My daughter has a wonderful fluffy kitty that adores her. So special.

Dudley is so beautiful! What a adorable ball of fur! This was total destiny, if his former family could give him up like that, Dudley KNEW there was not that great love there...no one just gives up there BABY like that, just because of a move. Dudley knew YOU would be the great love of his life. Love him eternally and he you.
3:31 That’s sad. Someone either got seriously ill, lost their job or died. That’s the only reasons their home would be in danger.
How beautiful - two families sharing Dudley the Cat ❤❤❤
My wife and I took in our first pet - we're in our 60s - when a daughter of ours had, like the original cat onwers in this video, "changed circumstances". So now we have a cat - Snicky - for the last 3+ years, and she has taught us a lot of things, and opened our eyes up to animals in ways we hadn't known before. Your situation sounds particularly special, however, in that you were chosen by Dudley, and he is now your cat: interesting how that happens, and it shows us that "chance" is more powerful than "magic". Thanks for sharing your story!
Dudley is not their cat...they are Dudley's humans...and he wouldn't have it any other way. We live in Dudley's world not the opposite.🐈
@@maxwellmurdoc9256 Well, yes - I chose not to elaborate on that truth, but you are correct. In my case, Snicky knows exactly how to run the show, and we do our best to keep up! Take care.
@@maxwellmurdoc9256 I was going to say that but just assumed someone already had. I was right.😊

This is fascinating! Pure destiny. The fact that he was so drawn to this family and that their allergies never trigger with him. Magical.
Dude. Dudley is a BEAUTIFUL fluffy cat! Those curls!
What an amazing story. I've done cat rescue and there are two cats that I knew immediately were soulmates. They were both incredible souls who touched my heart in ways that not everyone gets to experience. This reality is so much more mysterious and magical than we realize...
I was severely allergic to most cats when I was younger. But I found that with certain cats there was no problem. The cat allergies have now faded away completely and I don’t experience the slightest allergic reaction to the fluffiest of cats. They really are wonderful animals!
That’s not just a cat. He is from another life who might be someone close to you. When you see stories like this you have to believe in it.
And that’s your belief. Not everyone else’s.
@@_Iscreamgeez, thanks for clearing that up for us all 😅
@@_Iscream A belief that many people agree with. Reincarnation is real. Be kind to all animals, because it may be you next lifetime treated like dirt.
