And every one of them (Ahl ul-Bid?ah) used to be frightened of him, and would seek to hide and protect himself from him. He (Abu Ja?far Ahmad) would never compromise with a single one of them, and nor would he allow any of them to remain safe. And if he came across evil and witnessed any deviation from the Sunnah, he would oppose it and would disgrace and humiliate (its perpetrator), and he would announce the affair of this person and declare his own disownment of him by mentioning the evil of such a one in the various public gatherings, and he would incite others against him such that he either destroyed him or caused him to abandon his evil and repugnant madhhab and his evil doctrine. And he would never cease to remain upon this habit, making Jihaad therein, seeking the Face of Allaah, up until he met Allaah. (Taareekh Dimashq 5/118). And he is the Muhaddith, Imaam, Ahmad bin Awn illaah bin Hudair Abu Ja?far al-Andalusee al-Qurtubee (d. 378H).

I believe the verse that Allah created Adam with hands, but asking and testing people aqida isn’t that innovation ? Did companions ask that question ?

Those affected by Ikhwani principles are always emotionally driven (instead of evidence driven) you see them fiercely attacking those who speak with the manhaj of the Salaf but never have the same energy when it comes to the people of innovation (like the Sufiyyah, modern day Mu’tazili Rationalists, and the Khawarij takfeeriyoon).

@@streetzboxa Listen. I didn't claim to follow Shamsi or SPUBS. I agree with Shamsi on many cases. Personally I follow those such as Asim Al Hakeem and Abu Usamah. Nevertheless, nobody is perfect including Yusuf Estes and Mufti Menk who do have some ideas that are not strictly from the sunnah. But I believe you shouldn't force people's beliefs like what SPUBS do, I just think if a Muslim advises another Muslim for 4 years they have the right to make a video on that Muslims mistake for the benefit of his followers. This path is so clear and bright that it's enough for a person to open his or her mouth and you can immediately sense whether that person is upon salafiyyah or not. When I watch the videos of Ali Dawah (may Allah guide him to the right manhaj), I can sense that his videos lack the fragrance of salafiyyah. While watching the videos of salafis like Br. Shamsi, you can sense the fragrance of salafiyyah. May Allah help the brother and other salafi brothers.
Salafiyyah is understanding and following Islam the way the righteous predecessors (salafus saleeh) understood and followed. It’s the pure Islam free from any type of shirk and bidah. There is nothing in salafiyyah except that its based on quran, sunnah and understanding of the companions. The reason why salafiyyah looks like a sect is because of the presense of the deviated sects. Imagine a white paper which is Islam, and I paint it with different colours and leave one space unpainted. Because that space is surrounded by other colors, it will look like painted with white color. That unpainted space is salafiyyah
Edexcel IGCSE Science & Maths you mentioned correctly that the scholars closest to the prophet sallallahu aleihi wa sallam had the best understanding. This is what salafiyyah is: understanding islam the way they understood. As for labelling, the first person to label muslims was prophet himself sallallahu aleihi va sallam. He was the one who said my ummah will split into seventy three sects, all of them is in hellfire except one. The sahabah asked which one. He said the jamaah (he did not say muslims) . And you need to understand that calling ourselves salafi is out of necessity to distinguish pure Islam from the deviated sects
Edexcel IGCSE Science & Maths you call yourself salafi to distinguish yourself from the innovators. Of course we cannot compare ourselves to the salaf when it comes to piety and good deeds. But we follow their way of understanding Islam. Brother Shamsi, abu khadeejah and others have good lessons about salafiyyah. I highly advise you to watch them.

Allah will overlook the accidental, but not the intentional. May Allah forgive those who are in genuine error, for that may be their best attempt of understanding the deen. But becareful of sins from bad character, for that is something intentional. Knowledge is extremely important, but bad character destroys the fruit of it. يقول الله سبحانه : " فاتقوا الله وأصلحوا ذات بينكم " , قال البغوي في تفسيرها : أي : اتقوا الله بطاعته وأصلحوا الحال بينكم بترك المنازعة والمخالفة , أصلحوا ما بينكم وبين إخوانكم ، فما يكون لديكم تقاطع ، ولا تدابر ولابغضاء ، ولا شحناء ، ولاخصومات روى البخاري في كتاب المناقب عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : " إن الله يرضى لكم ثلاثا ويكره لكم ثلاثا , فيرضى لكم أن تعبدوه ولا تشركوا به شيئا وأن تعتصموا بحبل الله جميعا ولا تفرقوا ويكره لكم قيل وقال وكثرة السؤال وإضاعة المال " أخرجه البخاري , أما يكفي المتخاصمين مثل هذا الحديث ؟! إني أظن أن القلوب لو طهرت وتلقت توجيهات نبيها وآيات ربها بشفافية ونقاء لانتهت _ بمثل هذا الحديث وغيره من الأحاديث الكثيرة _ عما تفعل قال البيهقي : سمعت أبا عبد الرحمن السلافي يقول : المؤمن يطلب معاذير إخوانه والمنافق يطلب عثرات إخوانه . وقال البيهقي : إذا زل أخ من إخوانكم فاطلبوا له سبعين عذرا فإن لم تقبل قلوبكم فاعلموا أن المعيب أنفسكم وقال ذو النون : تناسوا مساوئ الإخوان يدم لكم ودهم , ولا تثقن بمودة من لا يحبك إلا معصوما أحبك أخى شمسى فى الله وأفتخر بكل من يدعو إلى آعلاء كلمه الله -- ربنا يوفقكم الى الحق ان شاء الله
لقد قدم الاخ شمسي لمدة 4 سنوات النصيحة لعلي في السر بالرفق واللين بل دعاه الى بيته و ما الى ذلك من الامور لكن للاسف الاخ علي لا زال مصرا على أخطائه و لم يتقبل النصيحة مما اضطر الاخ شمسي ان يتبرأ منه و من دعوته و يحذر الناس من اخطائه و خطورة اولئك المبتدعة الذين ينشر سمومهم في قناته و يعرض عامة المسلمين للشبهات و البدع. للاسف اصبحنا نرى بعض المسلمين اليوم يهتمون بالصداقة و المحبة و يحرصون عليها اكثر من حرصهم على الدين و يستسهلون خطورة الشبهات و البدع على انواعها سواءا في العقيدة او المنهج و الله المستعان.

Shamsi has the most knowledge in speakers corner. When you watch his videos he never ever uses his own desires always quoting from Quran and Hadith. If he says he tried to advice Brother Ali for four years I believe him may Allah help and guide brother Ali it’s okay to say I don’t know but having an answer out of your own desires in Islam this is unacceptable. Remember in the Fatiha we ask Allah to guide us to the straight path not the one with many turns.

I noticed he never bends the truth or satisfy nonbelievers at the expense of deen like many people do in the Speakers’ Corner. Quick question: why is always mentioned the Quran, the Sunnah, AND the book of salaf? Doesn’t a Muslim have to follow only the Quran and the Sunnah of the Profet (Pbuh)? Any reference where it is said a Muslim have to follow the 3 points mentioned in the first question? Thanks in advance
Correction: it is the Quran and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. Firstly who are the Salaf? The Salaf are the rightly guided predecessors of Islam, and they are, the Companions of the Prophet, the tabiun , the predecessors that came after them, then another after their era, then another. This is clear in the Hadith: "the best of generation is my generation, then those after them, then those after them" in another riwayah he mentioned that 3 times so it's 4 generations of the Salaf. Also because of the Hadith that the Ummah will be divided into 73 sects and only one shall enter Paradise.(take note though: the scholars have all agreed that the others will enter HellFire only for a limited time, because a Muslim's destination is Paradise). The Sahabah asked him who are the jamaah that will enter Paradise? The prophet pbuh answered : they are those who will be on what I and my Companions are upon. Barakallahfeekum
Rahziman Rahman Well my question was different to begin with but let me eleborate it better: where in the Quran or any Sahih Hadith is a clearly mention the element salaf as a part of the muslim “journey”? It is not clearly mention the element SALAF in the Hadith you pulled out and which make me automatically question: Where the Profet pbuh and the companion called salaf or simply Muslim?
Ali Dawah is an embarrassment and immature promoting something he don’t study enough. Shamsi is far ahead of Ali Dawah in the Deen. I don’t know why Mohammad Hijab does not school Ali Dawah from embarrassing himself and attacking Muslim brothers who are far knowledgeable than him doing Dawah.

Prophet Muhammad never named someone with his name because you can still deliver your naseeha and change munkar without naming as prophet Muhammad use to say " what is the matter with the people that they say such and such. this is the manhaj and the way prophet Muhammad use to change munkar if you people are following him but if you want to follow otherwise then Allah knows best.
Every person moves to different lengths to speak about Islam. I agree that Ali Dawah should try to become a proper aalim before giving dawah, but I also believe he has guided many people and defended Islam in the most important situations, for example when he debated Tommy Robinson. As for what you said about Mufti Menk, I’d say he is definitely more learned than any of us and one of the best scholars of today. Dr Zakir Naik is also self taught yet he preaches to millions of people; many have accepted Islam. I also believe that we should avoid this sectarianism. You could have highlighted all of the good stuff about Ali Dawah and clarify some of his mistakes. Whatever Ali does, he does it for the love of Islam. He may have changed the mind of many people aswell. I agree that there are some problems but also highlight the greater good. Ali is not a person working for personal interests. He is doing a great job trying to change wrong public perceptions.

Abu Jafar Ahmad bin Awn illaah (d. 378H) would show rejection against the People and Innovation and call them to account, showing extreme harshness against them, utterly humiliating them, always seek to pick out their faults, rushing to damage them, vehemently oppressive against them, chasing them away whenever he was able to, not allowing them to remain. And every one of them (Ahl ul-Bid?ah) used to be frightened of him, and would seek to hide and protect himself from him. He (Abu Ja?far Ahmad) would never compromise with a single one of them, and nor would he allow any of them to remain safe. And if he came across evil and witnessed any deviation from the Sunnah, he would oppose it and would disgrace and humiliate (its perpetrator), and he would announce the affair of this person and declare his own disownment of him by mentioning the evil of such a one in the various public gatherings, and he would incite others against him such that he either destroyed him or caused him to abandon his evil and repugnant madhhab and his evil doctrine. Nevertheless, nobody is perfect including Yusuf Estes and Mufti Menk who do have some ideas that are not strictly from the sunnah. But I believe you shouldn't force people's beliefs like what SPUBS do, I just think if a Muslim advises another Muslim for 4 years they have the right to make a video on that Muslims mistake for the benefit of his followers. This path is so clear and bright that it's enough for a person to open his or her mouth and you can immediately sense whether that person is upon salafiyyah or not. When I watch the videos of Ali Dawah (may Allah guide him to the right manhaj), I can sense that his videos lack the fragrance of salafiyyah. While watching the videos of salafis like Br. Shamsi, you can sense the fragrance of salafiyyah. May Allah help the brother and other salafi brothers.
Salafiyyah is understanding and following Islam the way the righteous predecessors (salafus saleeh) understood and followed. It’s the pure Islam free from any type of shirk and bidah. There is nothing in salafiyyah except that its based on quran, sunnah and understanding of the companions. The reason why salafiyyah looks like a sect is because of the presense of the deviated sects. Imagine a white paper which is Islam, and I paint it with different colours and leave one space unpainted. Because that space is surrounded by other colors, it will look like painted with white color. That unpainted space is salafiyyah

This is what salafiyyah is: understanding islam the way they understood. As for labelling, the first person to label muslims was prophet himself sallallahu aleihi va sallam. He was the one who said my ummah will split into seventy three sects, all of them is in hellfire except one. The sahabah asked which one. He said the jamaah (he did not say muslims) . And you need to understand that calling ourselves salafi is out of necessity to distinguish pure Islam from the deviated sects

I watched the ali and shamsi thing being as objective as I could, shamsi was in the right, have to keep falsehood away truth and can’t mix them for “bringing everyone together” falsehood statement
Allah will overlook the accidental, but not the intentional.

قال البيهقي : سمعت أبا عبد الرحمن السلافي يقول : المؤمن يطلب معاذير إخوانه والمنافق يطلب عثرات إخوانه . وقال البيهقي : إذا زل أخ من إخوانكم فاطلبوا له سبعين عذرا فإن لم تقبل قلوبكم فاعلموا أن المعيب أنفسكم وقال ذو النون : تناسوا مساوئ الإخوان يدم لكم ودهم , ولا تثقن بمودة من لا يحبك إلا معصوما

Shamsi has the most knowledge in speakers corner. When you watch his videos he never ever uses his own desires always quoting from Quran and Hadith. If he says he tried to advice Brother Ali for four years I believe him may Allah help and guide brother Ali it’s okay to say I don’t know but having an answer out of your own desires in Islam this is unacceptable. This is the problem, anyone who supports deviated people should be exposed. And the responses below are typical in responses we see the mental disconnect most muslims have is believable hence why we have sects. And they cant cope when someone stands and warns against someone who promotes misguided people. The proof in there look and listens to what Ali says. Shamsi keep up the good work. This is a massive problem and we need to expose innovators and misguided people.

Masha Allah for brother Shamsi. May Allah grant him a place in paradise with the prophet ﷺ. I noticed he never bends the truth or satisfy nonbelievers at the expense of deen like many people do in the Speakers’ Corner. He’s not there for followers nor for fame unlike Mohamed Hijab and Ali dawah. His RUclips is educational and aimed to give dawah and teach the Ummah the Salafi way. Others like Mohammed Hijab are concerned about followers. Brother Shamsi is a good example Masha Allah. May Allah make his heart steadfast on religion 🤲🏾
As for the people who comment down below and say “this isn’t good and it should be done privately” my answer to you is this. قال الله تعالي: لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِ دَاوُودَ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ (78) كَانُوا لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَن مُّنكَرٍ فَعَلُوهُ ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ (79)
Allah cursed those who used not to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that which they were doing.
Correcting people like Mohammed Hijab and Ali Dawha is a form of enjoining good and forbidding wrong like sheik Salih Al-fawzan said. How can their followers learn if this was done privately?!

Quick question: why is always mentioned the Quran, the Sunnah, AND the book of salaf? Doesn’t a Muslim have to follow only the Quran and the Sunnah of the Profet (Pbuh)? Any reference where it is said a Muslim have to follow the 3 points mentioned in the first question? Thanks in advance
Correction: it is the Quran and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. Firstly who are the Salaf? The Salaf are the rightly guided predecessors of Islam, and they are, the Companions of the Prophet, the tabiun , the predecessors that came after them, then another after their era, then another. This is clear in the Hadith: "the best of generation is my generation, then those after them, then those after them" in another riwayah he mentioned that 3 times so it's 4 generations of the Salaf.
Also because of the Hadith that the Ummah will be divided into 73 sects and only one shall enter Paradise.(take note though: the scholars have all agreed that the others will enter HellFire only for a limited time, because a Muslim's destination is Paradise). The Sahabah asked him who are the jamaah that will enter Paradise? The prophet pbuh answered : they are those who will be on what I and my Companions are upon. Barakallahfeekum
Rahziman Rahman Well my question was different to begin with but let me eleborate it better: where in the Quran or any Sahih Hadith is a clearly mention the element salaf as a part of the muslim “journey”? It is not clearly mention the element SALAF in the Hadith you pulled out and which make me automatically question: Where the Profet pbuh and the companion called salaf or simply Muslim?
Ali Dawah is an embarrassment and immature promoting something he don’t study enough. Shamsi is far ahead of Ali Dawah in the Deen. I don’t know why Mohammad Hijab does not school Ali Dawah from embarrassing himself and attacking Muslim brothers who are far knowledgeable than him doing Dawah.

Prophet Muhammad never named someone with his name because you can still deliver your naseeha and change munkar without naming as prophet Muhammad use to say " what is the matter with the people that they say such and such. this is the manhaj and the way prophet Muhammad use to change munkar if you people are following him but if you want to follow otherwise then Allah knows best.

Every person moves to different lengths to speak about Islam. I agree that Ali Dawah should try to become a proper aalim before giving dawah, but I also believe he has guided many people and defended Islam in the most important situations, for example when he debated Tommy Robinson.
As for what you said about Mufti Menk, I’d say he is definitely more learned than any of us and one of the best scholars of today.
Dr Zakir Naik is also self taught yet he preaches to millions of people; many have accepted Islam.
I also believe that we should avoid this sectarianism. You could have highlighted all of the good stuff about Ali Dawah and clarify some of his mistakes. Whatever Ali does, he does it for the love of Islam. He may have changed the mind of many people aswell.
I agree that there are some problems but also highlight the greater good. Ali is not a person working for personal interests. He is doing a great job trying to change wrong public perceptions.
Mufti menk isn't a scholar in the Islamic sense (ie Aalim).he can be/is an imaam aa mufti or a student of knowledge but not an aalim.
I hope in the future both brothers to have healthy friendly and private dialogue to advice one another. May Allah bless us all.
