wow thank you!!
Thank u just singed up
I loved how you did this ❤❤❤❤
Scam!
This interview was really bad. It tells nothing, but I guess at least we got this weird woman to know
This could have been told in 5 minutes. Not to mention the misinformation she is spreading surrounding therapy. So many of these guests lack self-awareness. It’s embarrassing.
It bothers me SO much, particularly that Dev has said in another video that she's only had one or two sessions of therapy and has not been diagnosed with a mental illness. So the title of the show itself is kind of insulting to people who have to deal with the actual stigma of mental illness.
14:40 saying they had nasty feet & complaining "two grown men straddling her"... they were literally saving your life?? 😫 literally zero gratitude. her mentality shocks me.
Did she just make fun of people that risked their lives to save yours?!? Wow!! The nerve of you! And then complaining about a sandwich 🥪 giiirrrlll… Nevermind I’ll bite my tongue! She rubbed me the wrong way, the entitlement!!
I thought exactly the same
I said the EXACT same thing!
Stop expecting 14 year old kids to be politically correct, she was in a deadly scenario as a child.
@@corablah9809 oh please, LOL.
@corablah9809 she's an adult now, she should know better
She mocked the men who risked death or severe injury to save her (a perfect stranger). Those men are heroes in your life.
Yeah did she say something about how their feet are gross or something?
@@Scrabbledatshe’s gross
Yo why are you all so hateful. Imagine a 14 year old girl, falling into a river, almost dying and then having men pushed tightly against her. Excuse her for having bad feelings about it. lmfao.

That feeling you get when someone’s trying their hardest to make a story sound worse than it was and you’re trying to save yourself from The secondhand embarrassment you start feeling the more the math isn’t mathin’. Yikes
You're really going to trash talk the mans feet??? They risked their lives to save you. Yikes
I thought the same thing lol
i was thinking this also!!!
literally 😭
Yeah I was confused how their feet were relevant at all 😂 even if you did have that thought at the time... Why make a remark about it? 🤔
It's just a detail She never forgot tbh doesn't matter it's not that serious lool
Tbh, this podcast has made me realize how completely unaware people are of themselves.
😂😂😂 so true. Dev’s gunna turn comments off on all her future vids
Dev is an angel on earth - sitting there without judgement. She's the best. My face would speak volumes.
@@dominiquegio4046i agree and i do love dev, but she usually has a talk with these people before bringing them on. i wish she would filter the stories a bit more
THANK YOU! I've been trying to articulate how tone-deaf this show is to how privileged the participants are. I think a lot of these interviews must be with Dev's friends from college and high school, just based on the charmed lives so many of them have lived. "No one tended to me afterwards..." are you a Princess?
Seriously, I liked a lot of them from some months ago but these lately aren't it. I think she should look at other podcasts that dabble in a similar fashion such as Soft White Underbelly.
This girl telling her mom not to complain when she had broken a toe!!! But then crying because no one had pity for her is insane.
Did she really say her expirience is too difficult for therapists...? Seriously? Girl get help, thinking youre too special to get help is wild.
Agreed. You just have to keep trying. Not every therapist is suited for you and everyones therapy style is so different.
I don't think it's that. I think it's just an excuse. Therapy is really hard and most people don't want to stick with it.
Bruh
please put more thought into who you’re bringing on
Seriously it's been miss after miss lately
Yeah it’s been pretty bad since she brought on that girl who claimed to be raised by a mother with NPD and then described depression the entire episode lmao
True :( my interest in this podcast went downhill, but I hope it gets better soon
Doesn’t enjoy thanksgiving anymore because everyone brings it up, goes to bfs thanksgiving and no one brings it up, so she brings it up??? Makes sense.
“I’m not put in that situation a lot”
Girl, your mom KEEPS putting you in that situation!
Kinda crazy her mom had her go on more ziplines after such an experience.. Sounds a bit irresponsible and inconsiderate of her to not even consider how badly that could have triggered her own daughter.

She is sharing a lot of misinformation about therapy. There is therapy that will help PTSD. PTSD can be cured completely - its not a "once you have it, you always have it" situation for most people. A good therapist will absolutely help you through a niche and unusual issue. I think it's fine to decide that therapy isn’t right for you, but making sweeping statements about the fact that therapy can never help with that sort of issue is irresponsible.
Thank you for saying this. I've found talk therapy to be so helpful in processing trauma. It's a shame to think someone who watched this could decide not to to try it when it could be as life changing for them as it has been for me.
It's true. I had panic disorder from PTSD by being sa in 2019, fast forward 2024, I don't anymore. Therapy, and safer connections is what healed my ptsd. It can be healed.
@@abrilsanchez9512 I'm so happy to read that❤️ That's a lot of hard work. God bless

@@elibrooks1662 oh you meant that American Creole stuff then I see what she may mean
Therapists don’t help people based on exact experiences. They help with trauma that was caused from the experience. It doesn’t matter if it’s not something that happens a lot.

Coming from someone who has actively sought therapy for PTSD… it works. Maybe not for you but you could have also not found the right therapist…
Even when I disagree with the guests I still find it interesting to hear their stories. This isn’t an informative podcast. It’s a space for people to share their stories. Even when you agree-with/believe them they are going to be 1 sided stories. It’s only one person’s perspective. I thought the sorority one was really interesting and did bring awareness to what can happen if you partake in those activities. This one was a little boring and I disagreed with a few of her points but it was traumatic for her and she wanted to share 🤷🏼♀️it’s interesting to get a little insight on so many different peoples minds
Thank you 👏🏼
I couldnt agree more!!!!
It at least brings awareness to how risky ziplining can be. I've heard so many horror stories and most people approach it as no big deal.
Dev we love you but seriously im sure there are a lot of people who wanna be on here and these type of people just want their clout moment, they are super obnoxious to listen to :(
I believe there are countless people out there in the world with far more traumatic and compelling stories, such as surviving domestic abuse, sexual abuse, human trafficking, or battling thoughts of suicide. It's disheartening to hear someone stretch a story about falling off a zip line, complaining about sandwiches, and mocking those who saved her life. It seems she lacks gratitude for the help she received.
so that makes her experience not valid??
Hello! I submitted a form to be on this podcast! I’m 26 from Watertown, CT. I’ve been hospitalized for my mental health 20+ times, as well as have had ECT (electro convulsive therapy) treatments completed twice! I believe this would be a great experience for us to be able to shed light to a subject not many people know about! Thank you for your time :)
If you end up on the podcast then good luck. These rude commenters have no mercy.
I think you're right, and I also think your experience (and mine... and that of any person who struggles with serious mental illness) might be somewhat beyond what this channel can handle.
This might be out of line... but I have a new podcast called "Unsound Minds" about the experiences of people "on the wrong side of the bars" as it were. I've only posted three episodes, but I think your story is important, and deserves to be told with sensitivity and the empathy of one who has been through the same
I hope you are happy and healing and I hope we hear your story soon❤️
As a therapist, I genuinely wished that this guest actually gave therapy a chance for more than the 3 free sessions. There are SO many different types of therapy that can help trauma, and she would potentially do well with EMDR to help rewrite the memory so that she can live the life she chooses.
Too many people give up on therapy way too fast.
@@macymiller3417 I definitely agree. Or people come to therapy expecting the Therapist to make decisions for them and "fix" them, when we just hand out tools and a safe space for each person to fix themselves.

Why is everything so all or nothing on the internet. You can dislike how she spoke about the two guys without negating her whole story. So because someone said something a bit impolite you don’t care that they almost died…what’s that say about you.
Not my favorite episode but still gonna watch to support dev.
This sounded intitled and whiny .
Ive had therapists that are good but not helpful, bad ones, and 2 amazing ones. The one i have now is so helpful with my PTSD. The therapist you have truly makes a difference. Dont be afraid to "break up" with ur therapist to keep searching for a fit for you. The right treatment can make the world of a difference
I get people have different experiences, but I believe therapy is mostly a scam. I will never go back.
Not everyone can afford one and therapy isn't always the answer
@isabellabass5346 I'm sorry you had that experience :( I believe to an extent, it can't solve the bigger issues. But for me having someone I know will be there no matter what once a week at this time to just listen to whatever I have to say, has greatly improved my quality of life. Along with other things I've learned just to make day to day more manageable. But I understand people can have very different experiences.
