Jenny is like a trainspotter she goes and watches, gets excited, makes a few notes, talks about this and that and then in the end walks away and comes back a week later and does the same thing again.
The dragons made a mistake with this one. If one of the Dragons actually thought to work with and build this product, as an amateur boxer who hits the heavybag three times a week, I definitely would love to use it. Because, like they said, there's an app for cyclists, bodybuilders and runners, but not for boxers. And we love progress reports, they make us feel like we're building on something. Innovative and ingenius, such a shame they don't understand boxing and so don't understand the market. Any boxer would want this
Because it's absurd to compare this to cycling, running, bodybuilding etc. It sounds ridiculous what Tej has said, but it's entirely true. If you really want a serious progress report, you go to your coach / trainer, at least if you're serious about it. If you're an amateur, it probably doesn't matter that much, OR that it's just too expensive. I mean, it's an entirely separate device. With running, cycling, bodybuilding etc. you can use your phone.
Cycling, running and walking apps are free that’s why so many people use them. Ask Strava how many people subscribe and how many people use the free version.
sammey1 I see where you’re coming from, but the likes of apple make much more complex devices than - in a nutshell - a pair of gyroscopic IoT sensors. If their whole company is solely focused on this one device, they could’ve maybe given it a crack (with that spare 200k lying about), or at least had a reason why they didn’t.
@@ItsEntirelyPossible1 if they'd gone through designing and manufacturing their own gyros it'd set them back by more than that £200,000 then the dragons would complain that they're in the red. When the business then grows it'd cost an inordinate amount to scale up production, so for simple cheap components that can be sourced literally anywhere (e.g. a gyro) it makes sense.
That's because she fighting desperately to find a good excuse to be OUT, the sheer terror in her eyes when the camera shifts her direction is laughable and entertaining haha
She doesn't most of the times... her asking any relevant questions is rare because her intentions are mostly about getting out!!! She is almost never that interested to ask good questions!
Don't disagree that there are some, just a high percentage of the deals don't complete. I would like to see programmes / interviews with those who have gone through the deals, good and bad.
Good product. They’re right in that the real value is not mainly in the hardware, but the algorithms and software. I just think they were new to business in general, and they came in to the Den at a very early stage of the product life. With no backing on how consumers like (aka sales volume) the product, it’s very hard to judge the business value.
she is rude but her business is economic/money based business he cares about numbers and thats all she asked those questions as she was doing the maths shes just tight with her money and very good at maths
I thought the point about the boring screen was exactly right. And they don’t own the tech, so they can’t protect their product. They’re going to get knocked out.
Oh, Peter's a really clever man... The important thing is to develop motion sensors and own that... Sensors can be bought from every tech factory in China. The value is in the softwere and the use of this in combination.
There absolutely is a psychological aspect to seeing your values increase before your eyes. For example, if you start boxing at a mere 25 pounds of force per punch, basically just throwing your shoulder into it, and you work your way up to 30, 35, 40, 50, 75... There's great satisfaction in seeing the improvement before your eyes. Otherwise it's simply _"I think I'm hitting harder?"_
Well done Jenny! I watched with interest as all the other Dragons listened attentively at Jenny's grilling of these very disorganised pair. Oh, the Jenny 'I'm out' jokes are hilarious, but in actual fact in series 15, she had the most number of successful deals than anyone. She was only one deal less than Peter Jones in series 16 and whilst the investing in the least number in series 16 she is not the worst Dragon investor out there. Conversely, I find Jenny Campbell very ethical and only willing to invest when she can only make a real difference, sincerely believes that the entrepreneurs and their business are worth investing in. In the unlikely event that I were to pitch in the Dragons' Den and receive an offer from Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Jenny Campbell, I'd accept Jenny's offer over the other two any day.
You can say anything about Jenny but I loved how she put them in the corner and knocked them out with simple math. She didn't need any special software for this.
That's true. For all the jokes made about her, I think it all comes down to her being just a pretty conservative investor, especially compared to her peers. It's clear she puts heavy emphasis and importance about the finances and fundamentals of the business more so than just sheer potential. Makes sense for someone from the finance industry, I'd say.
@4:15 "What if it's an every day person like me, where my personal trainer comes to my mansion and does a bit of boxing in my full sized ring in the corner of my home gym..."
When the Dragon’s say things like ‘You’re not sure how you’re bringing this to market’, isn’t that part of the point of wanting a Dragon to invest and not someone who could just invest cash with zero business experience?
I think when they say that to people it means they don't want to baby a business with the effort and money that would be equivalent to running their own businesses. Having to sort out everything for a business I bet would just be hassle especially if the product isn't going to sell well. They got advice coming on the show anyway about what they missed or didn't have or what they need to do.
I wonder honestly, how many times you see Peter Jones ask them "do you own the full patent?" Hoping for people to say no, so then as soon as the show is over, he can make a few phone calls and roll out the same product with all his networking power behind it. Its just clicked with me, that sometimes when he doesn't invest in things he could be doing that, Bill Gates, Richard Brandon, Alan Sugar, Steve Jobs - all do/and did that. I would do that if I was in his position. Common sense really.... Why invest when you could steal the idea and do it 10x more effectively and then own 100%. Crazy how the exchanges on this clip made me realise this could well be a reality... You couldn't ever sue anyone that powerful even if it did happen.
Don’t know how no one else has commented it yet but at 2:31 the guy on the right’s phone goes off and Keeps buzzing for a good while , I have headphones on so noticed it quickly. You can see it in his face 😂😂😂
Peter: I can replicate any piece of software or technology so don’t even try. Jenny: I’m out Tukor: OFFICES IN LONDON Debra: guys this is going to need millions in investment to even get going... Tej: anything in health I’m in. Anything else I’m out
Awkward moment when the dudes phone is vibrating and Im scrambling in my bed trying to find my phone thinking its mine, only to realise that it was from this clip haha
I disagree with Peter's assessment here. Samsung doesn't own the rights to the chips it uses, it just buys them. These two don't need to own the rights to their hardware, they just need to buy the hardware. The idea that a business should not rely upon suppliers for hardware is ridiculous.

But like they said in the video, there aren’t enough serious boxers who’d want this to make the market big enough.
I think you can buy it.
Jenny’s opening line: “guys let me tell you where I am?”
Erm let me guess.. your out
Apple doesn't make many of the components in a Mac. Companies can't do everything.
sammey1 I see where you’re coming from, but the likes of apple make much more complex devices than - in a nutshell - a pair of gyroscopic IoT sensors.
They marketed better than anyone. They own/owned the market.
Apple actually owns the manufacturers of their components so they technically do make them
@@mattmclean1307 nah mate they purchase their displays from Samsung, LG and some other Asian companies. None of which they own.
They should have got in the mma market. When I see a mma fight I would love to see the power level of the hits on my screen. That would be cool
Make the ring the device and put it on a jumbotron 😃😃😃
They did.
Jenny's first words as a baby.. 'I'm out'.
lolz good one!
Lmao...
Hahaha
Got to be true
Surely Peter knows that most tech products are made of components, physical or otherwise, owned by other companies
10:15 Debora counting the seconds in which Jenny has to say “I’m out”
Despite the fact that Jenny never invests, she does always have good line of questioning.
Jenny: Guys let me tell you where I am....
Out, Jenny... where else would you be?
Jenny:
This product is a knockout, and for that pun I’m out.
00:35 Guy in grey
"This is my moment, I'm gonna say my name.."
NOPE.
Elevator door opens...
Jenny: "And For That Reason, I'm out"
Peter Jones always delivers the knockout blow
I’m sorry Tej but maybe you should invest in a better fitness trainer
And maybe realize everyone can’t afford a fitness trainer.
Jenny: guys let me tell you where I am.
Everyone on set: OUT!
Can Dragons’ Den do a special with the most successful entrepreneurs from the Den sitting in the seats instead?
Good idea
There is actually very few...hardly any 'deals' get through. Kinda ruins it when you find out!
Don't disagree that there are some, just a high percentage of the deals don't complete. I would like to see programmes / interviews with those who have gone through the deals, good and bad.
Gotta think of how many of these people walk in throwing out bullshit numbers and lies. I bet half of them are not legit and do not work out.
Conversely, i’d like a special where the dragons are the ones pitching
Good product. They’re right in that the real value is not mainly in the hardware, but the algorithms and software. I just think they were new to business in general, and they came in to the Den at a very early stage of the product life. With no backing on how consumers like (aka sales volume) the product, it’s very hard to judge the business value.
I'm just getting into the UK Dragons Den, I've always loved our Canadian version. Really loving Peter on this show.
I wish Canadian Dragon's Den would upload clips like this, I miss the days with Kevin and Robert!! I prefer them on DD to Shark Tank.
@@defundhollywood3259 Gotta agree with you there! 💯 I miss the days watching Canada's DD. So much better than today.
@@ClintScottFischer you love the double d?
There’s a similar product that works with a mirror and tracks your progress. At home tech-training is big right now and growing.
Whys jenny get so lippy she never invests anyway she should pipe down and hush her beak sit back and enjoy the water
How many businesses have you invested in?
how else will she find a reason to say she's out? gosh
Oh can you shut up
she is rude but her business is economic/money based business he cares about numbers and thats all she asked those questions as she was doing the maths shes just tight with her money and very good at maths
@@ipcressipcress7810 he isn't on a show as an investor, so..
I am pretty sure that Jenny's book is full of pages with "I'm out" wrote on them...
When Jenny goes to the states , she eats at In and Out Burger🍔😂
😥
Only takeout doe
Jenny: guys I like the product I’m.....
Guys: we are out
For once, I am actually impressed with a product from this show
I thought the point about the boring screen was exactly right. And they don’t own the tech, so they can’t protect their product. They’re going to get knocked out.
it doesn't do anything useful
@@MrJamberee looks simple to digest and sleek to me
Honestly I had this exact idea 5 years ago when I was 17, but I thought it'd be cool to have more gamification
Oh, Peter's a really clever man... The important thing is to develop motion sensors and own that... Sensors can be bought from every tech factory in China. The value is in the softwere and the use of this in combination.
All other Dragons: I'm out.
Taj: I would like to make you an offer
Every presenter ever: Ill go with Peter Jones
There absolutely is a psychological aspect to seeing your values increase before your eyes. For example, if you start boxing at a mere 25 pounds of force per punch, basically just throwing your shoulder into it, and you work your way up to 30, 35, 40, 50, 75... There's great satisfaction in seeing the improvement before your eyes. Otherwise it's simply _"I think I'm hitting harder?"_
That comment about getting a personal trainer had massive "let them eat cake" vibes.
Peter : How do you spell I’m out ?
Tukar : J E N N Y
Well said! 👏 She’s a very discerning and disciplined investor.
Jenny’s line of questioning: do you have any reasons for me to back out by any chance?
You can say anything about Jenny but I loved how she put them in the corner and knocked them out with simple math. She didn't need any special software for this.
That's true. For all the jokes made about her, I think it all comes down to her being just a pretty conservative investor, especially compared to her peers. It's clear she puts heavy emphasis and importance about the finances and fundamentals of the business more so than just sheer potential. Makes sense for someone from the finance industry, I'd say.
I just read 30 comments...all had Jenny in them
and you're 32nd. LOL
And for that reason im out.
Only thing she's in.
Wow the jenny bashing comments are becoming about as predictable as the woman herself.
... and for that reason, I'm out.
U can cut out them comments
I’m out: “I didn’t ask you that, and that’s why I’m Jenny”
@4:15 "What if it's an every day person like me, where my personal trainer comes to my mansion and does a bit of boxing in my full sized ring in the corner of my home gym..."
How is every line of narration so perfectly punny? Love it!
They got advice coming on the show anyway about what they missed or didn't have or what they need to do.
penntaia04 2019 👍🏼
This episode has the most puns I've ever seen on a segment from Lion's Den.
The guy on the left looked like he really wanted to speak
Brexit: (Undecided)
Jenny: I have heard enough, I am out
I wonder honestly, how many times you see Peter Jones ask them
"do you own the full patent?"
Hoping for people to say no, so then as soon as the show is over, he can make a few phone calls and roll out the same product with all his networking power behind it.
Its just clicked with me, that sometimes when he doesn't invest in things he could be doing that,
Bill Gates, Richard Brandon, Alan Sugar, Steve Jobs - all do/and did that.
I would do that if I was in his position. Common sense really....
Why invest when you could steal the idea and do it 10x more effectively and then own 100%.
Crazy how the exchanges on this clip made me realise this could well be a reality...
You couldn't ever sue anyone that powerful even if it did happen.
Like in an interview when they are not going to employ you but ask you for ideas as to how their Company and processes could be improved......
Jenny's favourite Led Zeppelin album is "In through the out door".
Don’t know how no one else has commented it yet but at 2:31 the guy on the right’s phone goes off and Keeps buzzing for a good while , I have headphones on so noticed it quickly. You can see it in his face 😂😂😂
Seem to be doing ok. Trackers are retailing for 150, though going by the reviews the tech seems a bit hit and miss.
That guy should have been a politician, he hides the truth, so well unless you're really trying to break him.
These dragons are like investigators they know how to break you down to extract the information they need
Peter: I can replicate any piece of software or technology so don’t even try.
Jenny: I’m out
Tukor: OFFICES IN LONDON
Debra: guys this is going to need millions in investment to even get going...
Tej: anything in health I’m in. Anything else I’m out
Jenny knows about boxing and KOs
She's always out
The guy at the end had more puns then the narrator...
Jenny always taking notes like shes gonna invest is too funny 😂
Often wondered what she is writing. Filling in a job Application I suppose. Lol
Awkward moment when the dudes phone is vibrating and Im scrambling in my bed trying to find my phone thinking its mine, only to realise that it was from this clip haha
I don't know how this dragons do their numbers, they are great, that's why they are sitting there.
Boxer before he leaves quickly knocks Jenny out "Dont worry she's happier this way"
After binge watching these videos for a week I think the Dragons are pretty much concussed.
Jenny has finally had the courage to scrutinise a product to make a right choice to say I'm out without the need of other dragons help for an excuse
Look at Debras little face light up like a Christmas tree when Peter steps up for a box... she definitely has a super soft spot for him...
Tej Lalvani didn’t declare himself out.
I disagree with Peter's assessment here. Samsung doesn't own the rights to the chips it uses, it just buys them. These two don't need to own the rights to their hardware, they just need to buy the hardware. The idea that a business should not rely upon suppliers for hardware is ridiculous.
Ironically, the guy who doesn't box and didn't take damage to his head is the one who isn't talking and thinking.
