    If you’re going to place it against an exterior wall, make sure it’s properly insulated. You can test it by using an infrared thermostat on extreme weather days. If it’s not, the perforated steel in back can let the outside temperature in, and can cause condensation inside the safe if there is a significant difference in temperature outside the safe.

    I went a different route. Back in the 80's a glass door gun cabinet was a viable way to store and secure your guns. It had a lock and the key was kept on the top. When my children were toddlers we moved to Atlanta where I bought a 2 story home with a garage basement thirty years ago. There was an office off the garage and stairwell. That office became the "Gun Room" where I had the gun cabinet, my reloading bench, and ammo storage cabinet. When the kids were small I kept the door to the gun room locked and only I had the key. I also introduced the kids to firearms to answer any questions they had. Now that it is just me and my wife the door is often open most of the time. My only failing was when my son was a senior in High School and I was doing a tour in Afghanistan he and his buddies shot up 10k rounds of 9mm, 5k rounds of 45, and 8k rounds of 5.56 I had in the cabinet,.

      lol, that's a lot of ammo they went through on you. I would love a glass door cabinet to show off some of my stuff. I looked at them, but honestly didn't have the space for them. I'm moving and I'm hoping to be able to have my own real space for something like a whole room dedicated to my guns and my vintage computing/video game hardware... and a whole garage dedicated to my cars/tools.

    Agree. Did fairly extensive safe research and learned that “gun safes” are really just gun cabinets and not true safes by industry standards. While gun safes in the $1K-$3K+ feel heavier, use stronger gauge steel and feel more secure…a grinder to the sides is about as equally easy to defeat in both “”safes”. Further, the dry wall used for fire protection absorbs moisture and off gasses formaldehyde and other chemicals the cause corrosion and, in a practical sense, provide little protection in a true fire where heat and water (fireman) almost always destroy the enclosed firearms. The SecureIt “gun safe” is excessively expensive, however, the ability to store it out of sight in a closet, etc and bolt it to the floor…”cloaks” it delaying or preventing bad guy access in typical in and out robbery. Plus, their storage system does provide for a more practical and accessible use of space. On balance, the SecureIt cabinet is a reasonable alternative.

    love living in southern AZ for rust purposes. Just not enough moisture in the air to have stuff rust. hahaha

    Awesome review, thank you!
    I’m a new dad (4mo) and I’m looking for something light and reliable to store a few shotguns/rifles. I’m renting, so my primary concern is keeping honest people and kids out, since I already have a quick access HD handgun. If you were in that scenario would you get the sentinel again or the agile 52?

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  7 месяцев назад

      The sentinal isn't available (as far as I'm aware), they had a mossy oak one that I picked up, www.walmart.com/ip/Mossy-Oak-18-Gun-Security-Cabinet-21-in-x-18-in-x-55-in-Black/586609639?athbdg=L1200&from=/search which is exactly the same thing. If I had the money I would buy the Agile, If I didn't I would buy the mossy Oak.

    The five year update with the original 52: the Chinese lock will die forcing you to buy another or (if you have the original) replace the entire door at 50% of the original price. Too bad they didn’t make it with a simplex because the lock sucks.

    As far as bins and other accessories that fit the back wall, what alternatives do you recommend to the overpriced OEM options?

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  Год назад +3

      arko-mils is the name brand of storage bin that works, anything compatible with them will work. There are plenty of compatible brands on amazon, ebay, home depot, even harbor freight.

    Did you upgrade to the biometric lock set?

  • @Jbuckkz
    @Jbuckkz Год назад +1

    Thanks! got one of these after watching your reviews. My middle gate lock bar arrived bent, but besides that I really like it. Does your handle extend more the right when its closed or does it just point straight down? mine continues to the right so not sure if it's damaged or working as expected.

      Yes, It does a bit, maybe 5-10 degrees? but not like a full 1/4th turn.

    Great video! Watching your series with this safe has convinced me to go with the regular Agile 52 over the Pro version, I simply don't need all that extra storage. What I really need though is some place to store my ammo. I have two rifles, one shotgun and a good amount of ammo. Any recommendations on where I can get some cheaper aftermarket shelves for the ammo?

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  Год назад +2

      This is what I use for ammo:
      Mossy Oak Safe - $200 Walmart gun safe
      ruclips.net/video/AByR4DLjnxs/видео.html
      It’s not currently available, but keep your eye out for it. Use the secureIt for guns, and something else for ammo.

      @@AICvideo thanks for replying. I suppose I could get something like that but I don't have much space, I'm in an apartment and this will be going in my closet

      Ah, I would pick up 50 cal ammo cans and stack them up one side.

      @@AICvideo I like that idea. Thanks! Lastly, are there any type of aftermarket bins you recommend?

    • @AICvideo

      I bought some knock off off Amazon, Akro-Mils is the name brand, amzn.to/3NzM4eZ
      If you start there you can find cheaper options.

      @@AICvideo barely, as in it lags very much? What fps would you get on a game like jailbreak? ( I found a new one on amazon with 4gb RAM 64gbstorage.) My friend uses one for four years and still plays roblox and he has 2gb ram 32gb storage. N4000

    • @AICvideo

      For the same money as the one on amazon, you can buy a lightly used laptop with an 8th gen core i7 processor. with upgradeable ram and storage. Unless you're getting it for free, don't waste your money.
