Welcome to the Letterman RUclips Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. These highlights have been artisanally-produced, carefully-curated, and chosen completely at random by an old computer that used to pick numbers for the New York Lotto back in the 90’s.
"nobody took a bite out of this peach while it was ripe", Lol!!
I was in the audience for this show! This was the best part; Joe was such a refreshing surprise. For some reason, this was the only time I went to see Dave in 20ish years of living in NYC.
Literally laughing so much I’m crying. That whole citizenship test bit was brilliant. 😂
Funny guy and he was really modest at the end being shy to take a bow😁👍
I of course love Chappelle, Katt, Rock, etc., but I don't there's any comic I've laughed harder with, every single time he performs, than Joe. He's brilliant!
Im curious, why do you say Katt and not Williams and Joe instead of Wong, but you use Rock and Chappelle?
@@TommyLandonWong is hard
Same. Joe Wong is brilliant
@@TommyLandon Easy: When you say Chappelle and Rock, everyone knows who you mean. When you say Williams, no one would get whom exactly you mean, but Katt is defining. Joe just because he’s the subject here, and is understood.
Strong set. Smart humor
“It’s the reason why convenient store gets robbed” 🤣🤣
I love how he connects all the jokes together lol one reason why I love his jokes, he gets straight to them and focuses on one topic at the time only unlike other comedians who are all over the place. He deserves his own show.
Joe Wong did many Letterman appearances. He was really funny at correspondence dinner.
I have probably watched this 20 times over the years.
That “I’m Irish” opener was glorious.
Steve Martin: "I was born a poor black child."
Could you help me understand this? What does he imply?
@@hjwjenny He’s obviously not Irish, and it’s humorous he says he is.
I watched him that night. He’s hilarious.
ya right
He killed it!
That Franklin Joke was genius... 😀
Ha, he was too shy to take a bow, this was pretty good!
US citizen no take bow
Japanese usually takes a bow, Chinese doesn’t.
@@7eis Yes. And Japanese usually takes a bow, Chinese doesn’t.
He was amazing.
What a FUNNY little guy! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent...Wong did it right 👍
You're awesome, Joe!
Great set!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for the reminder that I also missed my peak.👍
I never saw this one. Thank you for posting.
Genius
He was born and already US citizen 😂
Terrific! Gotta share this one.
Damn this guy is good!
I'd love to see the old skit where it was Presidents Day and Dave had a talking Martin Van Buren robot who gave us trivia. He named his sons and they all sounded accurate until he called one of them "Kanye" and the way he said it was hilarious.
Funny set.
Letterman borrowed a line from Carson. Both would introduce a comic by saying to the audience "I'm glad you're in a good mood tonight..."
Take a bow... or another awkward handshake!
Good stuff.❤
I’m not afraid of dying anymore…
50% of marriage last forever…
Now I can’t sleep
I'm gonna see if he has clips on RUclips.
Did you see his Colbert set? Laughed so hard and the algorithm popped this up later.
so great!
50% of marriages last forever 😂
I have a fan request for the episode with Natalie Merchant singing Jealousy from the May 13th 1996 in full screen mode.
He sounds like Christopher Walken!
Can someone explain the roe vs Wade joke? I didnt hear it well.
Roe vs Wade
He said Row Vs Wade as in row a boat or Wade across the river.
Ways to get into America was the punchline
@@RJ1999x oh I thought it might have been
@@RJ1999x thank you
@@pika23 my pleasure
What ever happened to this guy? All of his jokes were fire!
He moved back to China to do stand up there. I think he also became a TV host.
@@dgphi Our loss! 😞
Returned to China 🇨🇳
lmao for all of it
This is like dave letterman style. Awkwardness being funny
Ha ha 😂!

it doesn’t EXIST anymore. thanks to fascist justices on the SCOTUS.
Where is he now?
He went back to China and brought standup to China. So he's the father of Standup comedy in China.
lol
I'm not all "blah blah cancel culture" one way or the other, but I always thought the idea comedy that doesn't challenge power isn't funny ridiculous. Wit is wit, a good set up and a good punchline are good. The bumper sticker joke was at his own expense, in ways it was "punching down", but it was a perfect execution of a brilliant reversal.
i don’t get thr irish one can someone explain to me thanks
He's obviously Chinese.
How much is Paul Schaefer's wardrobe worth? Smithsonian?
😅😅😅😅
Back when light hearted humor wasn't racist.
Dude, it’s 2009. Not 1949.
I dont get the Roe vs Wade
When crossing an ocean or river to illegally enter the United States one must “row” or “wade”. :p
@@eve.advent Thank you!
I don't get the Benjamin Franklin one.. can anyone explain? I am Italian, I don't understand it
He’s on the bill
He passed gun law bills.
Benjamin Franklin is the portrait on the U.S. $100 bill, which is a good payoff in a robbery.
Money.
Rob the store with gun, money and gun😂
Hilarious😂😂😂
Ha ha 😂!
