  • Our entryway needed a revamp and I'm loving how this DIY Bench Cushion Cover looks on the shoe rack that we've put in our hallway. Today's tutorial will teach you how to sew a removable bench cushion cover and also give you ideas about storing kids shoes and hats so they are accessible for when you're leaving the house.
    Let's get making!

    ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
Welcome to My Mum Makes! I’ve started this channel as a creative outlet to share my sewing projects online. I’ve loved to sew since my Mum taught me as a little girl and I find it relaxing, productive and fun. I love the chance to make things for my kids, myself and our home and I want you to feel motivated to give sewing a try and get creative. I think creativity is good for us especially as Mums. We can get so stuck in our everyday repetition, but spending some me-time creating something is a great way to unwind, prioritise our needs and use our brains in a different way to the everyday. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @mymummakes.marie to see more of what I’m up to.

Try putting up a large mirror and a shelf underneath it with some hooks for things like keys or hats

We keep our keys on a hall table closer to the door. But a shelf maybe for photo frames might work. Thanks!

Hi. I just saw your video on the bench cover. Thank you. As for your blank wall. I would go back to ikea and purchase several white poster/picture frames. Then hang your kiddos art work in them and put over the bench. I’m sure they generate a lot of art! So switch out their master pieces every now and then! Best of luck. ✌️🙏🇺🇸

They certainly do generate a lot of art!!! I love that idea! It's still blank on that wall despite it being a whole year!!

Yes it's been a while since I've posted a video! Nice that you noticed I was gone though ☺️
We love our tree too. The kids have been waking up each morning this week to check if there are any presents wrapped yet though so I better start getting my act together to make/buy some!!!

Thanks for sharing!! Perhaps you could do an arch, circle or geometric shape or pattern above the bench. Or maybe some sort of string and clothes pin system to hang kid's art work?

Ohhh I love that! Hanging the kids art work would be a good idea.

I love the bench cover! Will work so well for my bench from IKEA! It came with the cushion though! Although the cover is destroyed so why not make a new one!! Love this video!!!😃 My idea for the wall is to put a mirror up. Would look good with macrame. If you don't know how to do macrame I'm willing to make it for you! I sell them
