I drove dumps for several years. The scariest thing to me about the guy leaving the bed up is it tell me he doesn't have a scan. He hasn't check his mirrors once since leaving the dump site. Totally oblivious drive with absolutely no situational awarnes.
At a lot of construction sites you’ll see a huge “Lower bed” sign at the gate.
When I drove dumps back in the 70's the company had one truck you had to use the seat belt to tie the PTO lever down to keep it from jumping into gear when you hit a bump going down the road!
Ikr. I was stuck at an intersection for a good while bc someone had their bed up when leaving the site and pulled the cables down. There's a lot of driving from the dump site to the first intersection and apparently not once had they glanced at the mirrors.
The whole time I kept hearing the villains from Scooby doo saying “I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for bone head truckers “

I am not a trucker at all.
That circus music is appropriate for all these clowns behind the wheel that's out there today. Courtesy, common sense and safety are all things of the past. I drove OTR for almost 22 years (retired in 2004) and it just seems like truckers back then were actually more professional, and I never saw any driver in 22 years of OTR driving that was wearing flip-flops, high heels or dresses. (referring to male drivers)
Every time you see a Walmart trailer being wrecked it’s NEVER a Walmart company driver doing it.
Yah Walmart company drivers all have 15 year minimum experience it’s mostly older ppl doing it for the benefits and nice pay and low miles

I’m sure boneheads been around since the dawn of trucking….it’s the invention of dashcams and cameraphones everywhere that we need to thank for these clips. The circus music is what’s going on in these drivers heads by the way.

I commend some of these drivers on their perseverance. There’s plenty of times I try something & it doesn’t work out how I imagined, Once i see it’s not gonna work out I stop what I’m doing & reposition myself back to step 1 starting position. These drivers on the other hand they really know how to see things through to the end, they demonstrate full commitment, they don’t stop trying until the tow truck driver kicks them off their truck 😂

America used to be more open and spacious. It's getting so crowded and roads are being designed for cars not trucks. But we're still expected to deliver on roads made for cars. But still I have more common sense than these guys. I will park the truck in the middle of the road and be a traffic jam before I destroy my truck, or someone's property.

This is what you get when the trucking industry does not want to pay for good drivers. When I was driving was making 600 a week working 70+ hours in Reality was working 98 hours because the truck would never stop. In todays pay trucking is not worth it for the amount of money vs the hours that is required to work for it

Nope. That's a new trailer. Once the brakes are released the pin is locked in so that has to be a factory default

Spent 5 weeks with my trainer. Traveled the whole country. No matter what the day was over at 5pm. He didn't care what the company said. After dinner it was party time. He knew every bar in the country. We had a blast. None of that running the truck 24/7. 🚚
Hair dresser is considered a skilled trade in Ontario but driving a tractor trailer? Nah, anyone can do it. (sarcasm)

Anyone can make mistakes. There are no bad drivers, only poor training for them. A lot of these guys had a 2 week crash course and then were thrown the keys to a massive piece of equipment and told “good luck.” Quite sad really. Don’t judge these folks until you’ve been in their shoes. Truck driving is the most under appreciated trade their is, the literal backbone of this country, and they do not deserve the ridicule from people who’ve never even been inside a rig, or anyone else for that matter.

After 42 years on the road, small carriers, mega carriers( lots of orange trucks) and private carriers, thank God, I can sit in my recliner, cold beer in hand, and watch these idiots driving today. By the way, 4.75 million miles, 3 accidents. Be safe out there, all you old hands!
