My first visit to Kakamega, when we were dating, my hubby thought i will not like it but i fell in love with Kakamega from Day 1 and its my second home for the past 4yrs, i don't plan to leave at all.. on the other hand Mbale have its beautiful landscape but the infrastructure there is zero. This is unfortunate. 1. Kakamega has been a provincial headquarter for years. Most tarmac roads were constructed back then. The remainder were constructed in the 2nd term of Oparanya. 2. Kakamega has achieved milestones by giving the governor 2 terms to actualize his CIDP. 3. Mbale has most of its land on free hold tittle. Can the government forcefully take land from individuals?
Nothing shown in the video was inherited from the Provincial administration. All those are county government projects. If the land is on freehold, then voters should at least see some other developments. No markets, many rough roads, and no stage. That can't be justified
Then the comparison between Vihiga county and Kakamega County must stop. Let Vihiga be compared to counties like Nandi, Busia and Siaya where a provincial headquarter wasn't there.

Nice content always good to get a perspective of the local development, but I think it's unfair to compare kakamega and mbale, being that it was the regional headquarters - maybe a comparison with kisii, nyeri and the likes would give a better picture of the work done by the governor. All in all good content.
Kakamega always was the Western Kenya Provincial Capital & the bus stand was tarmaced in the mid 80s, big market always present for as long as I remember, my late aunt had a stall there & she died 15yrs ago. Kakamega even has a State Lodge & The Golf Hotel. I hope they have rehabilitated the golf field. It was already well planned & laid out, football field, showgrounds, PGH; Oparanya has had the vision & drive to provide services to the people & to a large extent he has delivered. Cannot really compare it to Mbale in ANY sense. Mbale was always a satellite town to Kakamega...but their governor has no vision & is a non performer. A better performer should be found to replace him & any funds misappropriated traced & the law applied according
