    I grew up hunting over Brittany hunting dogs in Idaho. They are lovely dogs! As an adult, I bought a GSP and bred him that gave me my second GSP. I miss hunting over each breed.
    This terrain you're hunting looks so similar to the land I have hunted on in Idaho. I am feeling the urge to get out there and walk the landscape. Unfortunately, it will be without a dog.

      Do it! Even without a dog, you won't regret it!

      @@the_upland_sasquatch agreed! I have done my fair share of hunting without any. Just not quite the same experience. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Thanks for sharing, and you gained a subscriber. I just recently got into upland game hunting here in my middle age, and also have a Brittany. What general area of ND are you hunting in? Everyone seems to talk your ear off about SD opportunities, but you rarely see people sharing videos of ND hunts!

      Thanks for the sub!
      But yeah, SD is pretty well known as the Mecca of the bird hunting world. I'm okay with that. Keeps our bird numbers in my neck of the woods nice and quiet in the background. Generally, I hunt western North Dakota.

      @@the_upland_sasquatch thanks for the reply. Will have to add western ND to the visit list for next year. I don't think I can swing the 12 hours one way from south-central Wisconsin this year.

      What choke and gauge ?

    • @the_upland_sasquatch
      @the_upland_sasquatch  Год назад

      @MHFA1981 I switched to a 20ga 3 seasons ago, and I haven't had any any cause to regret it. I keep the old 12 gauge around for waterfowl and turkey hunting, or when I get into a shooting slupump with the 20. But now that I'm used to the lighter gauge, it feels like I'm carrying around a tree trunk.
      In the bottom barrel, which fires first, I use an improved cylinder choke. Top barrel gets a modified. My logic is that when a bird first gets up, it's generally off my dogs point and closer. So I use a wider patterning choke. If I miss, that same bird has got out a ways and I prefer the tighter choke for longer distance.
