I was biting my tongue through the other videos, I've used CorelDraw and knew there were ways to reduce nodes, and you did really good at showing those ways though the names of the tools and functions are different. As soon as I saw you in the first video I knew I had found the program I wanted!! I've been glued to my monitor ever since learning as much as I can so I can make my business better. Bless you and thank you for all the time you put into doing this and getting it out there and helping so many people! May only good things come your way! :) Much love! I just shared the link to your video's in a facebook group I'm in. I stumbled across your video's looking for another video I'd seen a week ago. The other one was click her then here than here. It didn't explain clearly what I was doing, just how to get the end result. I'm not leaving this couch until I've seen all you video's on Inkscape. Then I'm going to see what other programs you've posted how to's for. You are very good at explaining things in a way that people understand and remember. Thank you.

    I must share something about the freehand tool. I use this tool to draw/ink. I make a solid ellipse with the "circle tool", copy it, then go to "freehand tool" and select "bend from clipboard" from the "shape" drop down. After that I can draw/ink with that tool over rough sketches or just draw with it. The logo I use for my avatar was done with this technique.

    • @aemonwarrick4654
      @aemonwarrick4654 5 лет назад

      The shape that you make can be any shape you want it can be square, rectangle, ellipse, or a shape of a brush stroke, such strokes can be searched and some are on deviant art. Another important point is that you can change the size of the clipboard shape by px or mm. I have set up a few templates of various sized ellipse strokes.

    Drawing slow vs. fast: When you move your mouse fast, Inkscape literally receives less reports on mouse coordinates. (The number of coordinates-per-second is constant) This is the reason why drawing fast appears smoother. It has less jaggedy data form the get-go

    I've been watching your tutorials, and I'm finding them very helpful as I learn this new program. I actually dislike the fact Inkscape remembers what was last done. I'm now looking for a video to show how to default to the initial settings because after playing with it, none of my shapes are normal. It's difficult to get them close to normal, and a few things are impossible -- it seems to me since I'm new to the program. I'll keep watching. Thankfully, for what I want this for -- making book covers -- I won't need shapes. Thanks for the videos.

      Hello! I read your comment and had the same frustrations. Guess what?? I found how to reset the preferences so it won't do that anymore!! :) Find the 'Star' on your menu bar (or the square or the circle or any tool) and **double click** it. This will open up a Preferences box (or you can press Shift+Ctrl+P). With the 'Preferences' box open you will see in the main box two options: 'Last Used Style' or 'This Tools Own Style.' ***Select: This Tools Own Style*** and Voila! Anytime you go back to that object to use it again, it will be defaulted back to its original parameters regardless of what you did with it last time :) If you want to go back to the program remembering what styles you used last, select the first option. (If for some reason you are not seeing these menu options, check the left side of the menu box and make sure you are under 'Tools' and beneath that select 'Tweak'). Hope this helps you and others!!
