That opener was meant to show how someone becomes radicalized, and ends up doing something horrible, logic goes completely out the window.
The guy at the beginning shot the man because he was convinced he was a terrorist. Because Stromfront kept talking about supe-terrorists.
He was fully aware of that. His point was that it was moronic, because if he was "bulletproof" as he said, it wouldn't do anything. So either he does nothing, or just murders someone. Now I understand that is the entire point of the scene, but that is what Alex was referring to.

The reason that The Boys fills us with such joy is because it's an antidote to the superhero shows we've been seeing in the last few years. Granted, it goes a bit overboard sometimes but it's still a lot of fun.

Homelander isn’t a sociopath with no feeling, he’s a psychopath with too much extreme feelings.
It's actually the other way around. Psychopaths lack the functionality to have empathy. Sociopaths possess empathy but a highly skewed sense of priorities and lean into an 'end justifies the means' mentality. Psychopathy is often a genetic defect, whereas sociopathy is often a developed behavior.

1) "Socio-" for "social". Can't be social with zero understanding of empathy.
2) "Psycho-" The "Cho" is for "Cold" - as in no feelings for others at all.

Sociopaths have feelings, but no remorse for actions. Like someone can cry because of loneliness but easly can commit genocide. Hence socio-path. Society comes from this word.

Narcissism being one aspect of its spectrum. There are sociopaths that display signs of remorse but still act in their accordant behaviors. Others resemble psychopathy in the extremes some reach, which often contributes to the confusion between the two diagnosis's. It is a fascinating read if you're willing to delve into it, particularly if you lean towards 'true crime' stories and the natures of what drives some of these people.

Brilliant show. It's one of the few shows I've seen in recent years which consistently kept up the pace.
I never really got bored in any episode, the story was always interesting, and obviously the dark humour / gore.
I still haven't got over the Dolphin scene. I don't think I ever will. lol

The way Deep checks to see if his head exploded is so stupid but so perfectly on brand. I like how they showed Homelander with Ryan, that not every ounce of his humanity is gone. Also, Season 3 is going to be insane. HEROGASSSSSSSSSSSSSM!

After season 3 go ahead and binge Gen V. Unlike some spin-offs, there is no decline in quality. It's excellent. It feels like The Boys 3.5. Required viewing before season 4 hits in a couple months.

Okay you need to check out the shows RUclips media clips if you want to see THE BOYS team (writers, and great cast) absolutely nailing satirizing our media!! I’m endlessly impressed by all the nuances they get right and translate from the real world into the shows reality.
They relate directly to the plot of the show and came out sporadically during seasons and season breaks. It is so much better than it sounds.

The character in the last porno was Jack from Jupiter (one of the 7 in the comics and inspired by the Martian Manhunter from the original comic version of the JLA) and replaced in this series by Translucent who maintains MM's abilities of invisibility and invulnerable skin.

I feel like people need to see a specific episode or two to really get hooked on Sunny. Like “The Cereal Defense” and “The Gang Quarantines” it definitely took me an episode or two to fully grasp the genius that Always Sunny brings to the table, but there’s a reason why it’s had 16 seasons so far!
