  • Welcome to this video where we chat through the top 8 weirdest overpriced items at Hermes. This includes a wooden horse head, a wicker tray, potential dog poop dispenser bag, picnic set and more.
What do you think? Do you think these could be 'Birkin Bait' items you'd be required to potentially buy to qualify for a Birkin or Kelly?
Let me know in the comments, and also let me know what you think of the prices!

The picnic set looks like something you'd buy at the dollar store, lol.

Hi Sophie, Paris Hilton’s mother bought the wicker tray for her daughter’s fiancé for his office. They hated it and put it in the kitchen cupboard . She went berserk when she went for a glass in the kitchen screeching at them “do you know how much it cost? It’s Hermes!!!” 😂😂😂😂 (from an episode of real housewives of Beverly Hills) 😅

  • @TaylorJohnson1

These items are COMPLETELY ridiculously priced. Luxury brands are really pulling the rubber band here.

  • @malikamasimova7631

Even if I had this money, I would rather donate to kitty rescue or food donation center.

There's a weird dissonance listening to you make fun of the prices of these items when you own many bags/purses that easily cost 20% of the annual total family income in the uk. I like books so £1000 for bookends that will last a lifetime seem much more reasonable than spending the total annual housing cost of an average family on one bag to carry stuff around. Fortunately, I dislike horses so I am not tempted. It's really a matter of what one values and those of us, myself included, who love designer luxury bags are hardly in a position to point fingers at others' spending habits.

So glad you’re skipping in the Hermes blanket. I’ve seen so many reviews of saying that even with slight use it pills. Retail it’s over $1800 and it’s ONLY 10% cashmere.

  • @tplanted8497

People willing to pay that kind of money for theses products are not grounded in reality. They have never known what it is to be in real need nor do they appreciate the real value of money.

  • @indoora

What you have to take into account is most of the items you showed are most likely in limited quantity and 4k to someone who is worth 300 million is nothing. 40 years from now the horse heads you featured might be worth 3 times as much, especially if someone famous is auctioning them.

The picnic basket price is wild. Like using the math for their ceramics and glassware they’re saying that the basket is worth about 8k.

  • @mikaellakaraiskaki4685

These items are so expensive because they are meant to be put in a house worth 10s of millions. I completely understand your point and I agree , they are ridiculously priced. Just simply watch an episode of the Kardashians or the Hiltons and it will perfectly demonstrate who buys these things and for what purpose. Brilliant video though xx

  • @melriddell

I'm speechless over the picnic set!! Honestly, it's just crazy. No other words for it.

  • @petrieberries

This was a great video concept! Super entertaining 🤍

  • @jaceylataire2511

The tray!!!??? OMG.....ludicrous...I have no words....thank you so much Sophie for enlightening us..❤

  • @barbaraobrien2485

The birkins and kellys pretty much sell themselves, there is absolutely zero effort by the SA to sell any of them, people literally fall over themselves to get one. So, that is probably the reason they do not get commission. Sounds pretty fair to me to be honest. I personally do not believe in commissions. I feel that if they had a set wage and that's it then they would not be pushing items according to commission and our sales experience would probably be much better.

  • @flohough1870

The comment about the dog leash had me ROFL! I'm glad I wasn't drinking something when you made the comment about it needed to be able to clean your car. Thank you for your honest opinion and willingness to say what most of us think but don't say because people get all freaked out due to brand loyalty. PUHLEEZE.

  • @ishabrown

Definitely think it's crazy to spend nearly £800 on a dog leash but some people £800 is like £8 or 8p lol ❤

I know these prices. I got recently into Hermes. I am actually up for making a wish and I already bought some pieces from them, I am after Birkin. I buy what I really like and wear or use. I scrolled through their website and just laughted at those silly items and prices and got back to the items I like.

  • @denisadellinger4543

Wicker basket. The price of a car. My first Toyota, 13 thousand dollars. Now it is about half or a used car. Ridiculous. A strip of leather and a leather worker could make you a special basket for a lot less. I believe these go towards a bag. No one would buy any of these things. There is a law suit in the US for this reason alone. More money than sense.

  • @teknosbeka

I am a price per wear / price per use type of person. If you walk your dog 5 times a day and an Hermes leash makes you happy each time 🤷‍♀️ then it’s a good investment.

  • @emrecanayaydin

Dear Sophie, great video as usual! I'm happy that you got great feedback after your last video regarding luxury. I actually have this Hermès wooden horse head :D and the reason why I bought it is because I'm really into luxury home design and I somehow knew where I want to put it and it really looks nice where it is located now - I have to agree though it was overpriced but I also liked it because horses somehow represent Hermès for me and it's more like "if you know, you know" as there is no H or something similar engraved to it. Xx
