    Flower Farmer here - I got so excited when you started talking about Green Manure, I completely nerded out with you! Liveheading is basically what we do, cut fresh blooms while protecting the plant.. no harm done! Enjoy them!
    Make sure you strip the lower leaves after cutting; this helps to only have the stem rehydrate the flower head(s) and not spend energy to rehydrate the leaves too! Happy cutting 🤗

    If you plant a cover crop in your raised garden bed in the fall and leave it to grow over the winter it will add the nutrients and enrich the soil for the spring. Also would suggest espalier fruit trees along the brick walls in the garden to attract pollinators for the bees. I would recommend looking into getting heritage apples species. My husband and I grafted over 75 apple trees this past winter with almost 100% success!

    Sweet vlog Lydia! I’m not sure about the Dior dress for three reasons. (1) Black is not a good look for a wedding (2) Not full enough in the skirt and doesn’t have pockets which we all know you love (3) The halter style on the neck makes your shoulders look too big. All in all, probably best to send it back. If it’s not perfect in every way, it does not warrant the price. You will eventually find the perfect wedding reception dress. Don’t give up. It’s out there somewhere just waiting for you to order it. Keep looking…

    It would be great if you didn’t have to deadhead your roses but unless you catch every bloom there will be times you will have dead blooms that need to be trimmed off. I am 74 and have been a gardener all my life and I promise you that you will have to deadhead from time to time. It is actually very satisfying!! I love your channel!!!

    I think the Dior dress is amazing, but more for New Year’s Eve? It feels very winter appropriate. Not that you want our suggestions but there’s a beautiful exclusive to Net -a-Porter Carolina Herrera gown that would look stunning on you. It’s navy with a beautiful floral.

    Another wonderful Vlog Lydia. I'm so in love with the new bookcase and colour in the living room. The cushions give that slight pattern what with the plain sofa and the colours are just perfect. It flows off of the kitchen perfectly. Your home is beautiful and looking forward to seeing the downstairs renovations along the way. The Dior dress is beautiful but I didn't think you was blown away with it & I just felt it looks too formal like a black-tie evening than say a wedding. I feel the more colourful dresses suit you more or pretty florals with a fuller skirt maybe are perfect for a summer wedding. I'm sure you will find THE dress soon enough though because you always have impeccable taste. The gym wear was so nice too, the dress gave me a 'I'm off for a game of tennis' vibes and it looks so nice with the shirt thrown on over the top. Hope you have a gorgeous weekend and take care always 💕

    Beatiful vlog. Well done! I've been thinking about this for quite a while unsure whether to say this or not. I don't feel this is negative, but others may. When you told us you were having a big bookcase built for the living room, I immediately thought it was for the big blank wall behind the other sofa! Now you've hung two landscapes on the wall, but it's such a big wall and the pictures are too small and look lost and forlorn there. I envisioned the bookcase there, while leaving the previous table which you styled so nicely with the horse above on the smaller wall. The bookcase would do a lot for that big wall, maybe hanging the two landscapes on either side. Then your room would feel more balanced. If you did this. you could even put the two chairs in front of the bookcase and move the sofa to the window wall, thus not totally blocking the view to the bookcase. Just a suggestion sent with love. What do you think?

    • @user-gs1ml3hf1x
      @user-gs1ml3hf1x 5 месяцев назад +1

      It's not negative comment, your seeing what she can't at the moment. The living room isn't large so it feels more cluttered to me now, the bookcase being so close to the kitchen door entrance doesn't work. You need space to be able to admire it from afar.

    Lydia, you should go to Knepp Castle. It's an 3,500-acre estate near Horsham that the owners have turned into a rewilding project. I just watched a documentary about it called 'Wilding,' which was so fascinating. Around 20 years ago the owners realised the soil was depleted and to continue farming they needed to use loads of fertiliser and pesticides. Instead, they pulled up all the fences, introduced old breeds of pigs, cattle and horses, stopped farming the land and let nature take over. Now the estate is a haven for loads of endangered species of birds, insects and animals. They even have beavers! They run tours and you can also stay there. Looks amazing!

    Lydia please be careful using that gardening tonic on anything you’re going to eat, colloidal silver is extremely toxic and dangerous. Try plumbers putty to block up the holes in the plant urns. Should keep the water in. Also, a pretty salad or dinner plate under the urn would protect the cabinet and look very nice. Even if you plug the hole up. Just some suggestions.

    I wonder if the chairs and the opposite couch could be swapped. then the paintings swapped with the bookshelf. That way the mirror would reflect the glass reflections over the paintings and the glow from the bookshelf lights could light from across the room to outside in the evenings. I love it as-is, just thinking and loving the space still.

    Nice to see you dear! I want to mention a method for the rose water where you extract the water that petals have, no infusion in the water. I unfortunately don’t now the name of the method but Here is the description... take the rose petals and put them in tulle, tight them with a rope and next tight them in a mason jar lid, then, put the lid on the jar and close it. You do it in a way where the petals doesn’t touch the bottom in the jar. Then put in the Sun for 3 days. The rose water will be trapped in the jar. I hope make sense!❤❤

    Why don't you choose some dress for the wedding like Oscar de la Renta's HOLLYHOCK THREADWORK FAILLE GOWN (blue)? I mean light colors, wider skirt, not monocolor, nice fabric. I don't find it thrilling when a lady wears black for the wedding even with flowers or other decor. An event is mindblowing as you described the same should be the gowns I guess.

      Agreed! It looks like a tuxedo for a waitress/hostess at a Las Vegas restaurant , checking Elvis in for dinner 😂. Sorry Lydia, you’re too beautiful for this dress ❤I personally think the strapless black dress you wore recently with the white band around the top with a flat bow in back competes with this one and it’s clearly the BEST, and it is the winner 🏆

      You have more beautiful dresses in your wardrobe. Some of the Karen Millen dresses from your collections are more suited for a wedding guest outfit and they are beautiful quality.
