Because the other teacher that she was close to died on the plane, and she (along with the police) were suspicious that Alex was a terrorist behind the explosion. Sorry for replying to a 13 year old comment, but I was just going to say that all of the Final Destination movies touch on common fears.
      - This one obviously covers a fear of flying/airplanes.
      - Final Destination 2 covered the fear of car crashes.
      - Final Destination 3 explored the fear of roller coasters.
      - The Final Destination/Final Destination 4/Final Destination 3-D/A Huge Pile of Crap brought up a fear of racecar races.
      - Final Destination 5 explored the fear of crossing bridges.
All of the other non premonition deaths can explore common fears as well.

In the past, that plane started to feel strange and it began to malfunction, and Alex, Clear, and Carter, and other people were screaming, but in the preset they all three survived and so did the passengers and the plane was still outside the airport, so Alex, Clear and Carter escaped from the plane. He was a bit upset about his dreamy vision. If kids were a hundred percent scared, they shouldn't bother watching that scene and they won't like it.

I’ve read that this crash is based off TWA flight 800. A Boeing 747 taking off from JFK intl experienced electrical short circuiting which caused a spark in a fuel line. This then exploited preexisting stress fractures and sheared the entire nose section clean off. The unfortunate passengers were then tortured for about a minute as the aircraft entered an uncontrolled climb from 13k ft to around 17k ft before stalling and crashing.
