- If there has been one car in the Roadkill fleet that absolutely never fails to fail, it’s the 1971 Datsun 240z rust bucket known as the Rotsun. From the beginning, the Rotsun has let Freiburger and Finnegan down over and over, whether it be at autocross events, drag races, shootouts, or even 24 Hours of Lemons. However, it’s the one car the guys can never quite give up on even though it’s fulling deserving of desertion. Over the years it’s had a variation of power plants, it’s latest being a junkyard turbocharged 5.0 Liter V8 pulled from a fox body Mustang. Now on this episode of Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan attempt to get the Rotsun back up and running after years of neglect, by finally fixing its independent rear suspension issues and attempting to drive it to SEMA. Will the Rotsun fail to fail? Will it break more axles or will the axles break the guys?

Sad that I used to enjoy Roadkill and now Im criticizing the garbage content that I couldn't get more of!

I am a total fanatic of the old Z cars, having owned about 20 of them over the years. Every time I see the Rotsun come up I get excited to see what is to come next for the rusty old thing. It's impressive that it's still relatively in one piece with the power that's been thrown at it.
How many of them were rusted out? I love the 240z as well. I quite frankly like all of the Zs.

i had a rust bucket z myself, 350 sbc swap when i had it, welded the diff, then 46 fuel filters and 3 carbs later, it ran good for 3 days before i sold it

YES! The OG Roadkill videos is the reason why I bought a 78 280z years ago for $800 that I borrowed from my mom, which was basically as rusty as ol Rotsun but didn't run. I was too young and wasn't financially capable of starting a project so I sold it a year later. Seeing a full video appear of the rotsun gave me a boost of serotonin and brought back good memories of old Roadkill videos and my first "project" car. Also can we bring back the full episodes to RUclips?????

I'd have one of those in a heartbeat, if I had the money. Have to get it's electrics uprated from 110v to 240v but it's tons of fun and highly usable.👍🏻

I don't think an episode here and there is going to hurt your MTOD subscription count at this point. Us YT viewers have obviously decided at this point against paying.
