I’m the woman from Oklahoma that you worked very recently on my yellow and bee sewing machine. I want to thank you for solving the problem with the sewing machine. I just picked it up this afternoon from Mr. Taylor and he was as excited to pass it on to me as I was to get it back. Again, thank you to all of you who worked on my machine.
so helpful. Thank you. I had a beautiful machine that just was not sewing correctly and it was the take up lever adjustment. You just never know but it is amazing how the precision on all these machines work. Very impressive.
Glad I could help! If it is the one you mentioned in one of your videos, I confess…that is what I was guessing the problem was. Sounds like you fixed it, yay!
Great video, thank you. My hook point timing is off... you mentioned you might do another video to show how it can be corrected, since I don't find it is there any chance you can give me a quick tip what I need to do?
Hi! Yes, I still plan on making the video, just don't have a Featherweight on my bench at that stage. Should very soon though! Sorry it is taking me so long! email me at jen@sewingmachinerehab.com and I can give you some tips...
Hi! I depends on what part I am looking for. Sometimes the Singer Featherweight shop and sometimes EBay. Did you have a specific thing you were trying to find?
I have tried to install the needle bar, but that didn’t help. Could it be that I can’t get the set screw for the thread take up system all the way down? I have gotten it so that it only bumps out a tiny bit, but can’t get it to go further. Thank you for answering and being available!
Hi! Not sure if we settled this through emails or not but for anyone else who may read this, the set screw does need to go down all the way to keep the flat spot on the stud where it should be. If it isn’t clamped in place by the set screw then the stud will spin out of place and you most certainly will get wonky stitches.
Something seems terribly wrong with my thread take up system, I have installed it three times. I have watched the video 4 or 5 times. When I install it and turn the hand wheel it sometimes turns smoothly and sometimes hits the housing for the presser bar. Sometimes hits the housing for the tension assembly, sometimes gets stuck at the top of the machine or any variation of those things. I have cleaned, polished, tightened, and everything I can think of. is there any hope?
Hi! Sorry for the delay. Are you still stuck? Have you put the needle bar in yet? The linkage will get stuck in places until you get the needle bar in which holds it in place. Let me know if you sorted this out, I will try to help!

It was my pleasure to work on your machine! I am so glad I had the opportunity to fix it for you. I wish you many happy years of sewing on it now.
Thank you.
You are welcome!
