So Sky High was Disney's Harry Potter-ish kid's movie about a high school for superheroes. It wasn't a DCOM this time but an actually like theatrically released movie. Released shortly before High School Musical and Camp Rock really popped off in the "teenagers do cool things" genre, Sky High was soaring above the clouds on its own. In this video I review the movie Sky High and go over all the highlights and funny moments, kinda like a video essay, but not boring?

You're spot on about some things that could have been, which actually was, before Disney. The writer Paul Hernandez was a friend and it so happens I worked on the film. Paul had mentioned how he had to tweek the script to get around issues with characters and IP's as every singie character was prior existing in comics and TV. One single name snuck by everyone being Dick Grayson, the girls father. Strongholds parents were written as Superman and Wonder Woman with the sons super power, is to be human. That's it. His power was being human. The Invisible Kid was written out whom had a series of one liners. Also if memory serves Kurt Russell came in just weeks before filming began. Paul had offered to rewrite his character to a prior Disney film of Russels which was declined. Sky High 2 almost happened yet Paul passed away while that was being set in motion.

Disney made a movie about a super hero kid who doesnt have powers, Up Up and Away. But it was a DCOM so maybe they didnt want to be as risky in a wider release
i think my favorite part of this very weird movie is still the ending scene where the school is falling to the ground, and right before it crushes this house, will just shows up, waves, and flies it back into the sky. its such a weird detail

From how much effort and editing you put into your videos you'd definitely deserve more attention than this.
Subject matters also touch into genuinely rarely talked things and movies. Have never heard of this movie for example.
I was popular in highschool. I didn't really mind it most of the popular kids were the band kids
