The new colours are fantastic and I love the painting. The case is brilliant, light, too and with the great sleeve. You can't miss it among other palettes. Have a super weekend, Miranda.
Fabulous video Miranda! You always make me laugh! Oh, the pet hair lol. Totally relate. Your babies snuggling. Oh my! The cutest! Thank you for this x Nell
Your convenience mixes turned out vibrant and awesome! I think that’s such a fun way to get to know a new set of paints. As soon as I am done moving, which seems endless, I am looking forward to getting my paints out and playing again.
I need to get a tube squeezer; it looks so useful. Love the mixes you made (and you're so brave using up lots of paint from the tubes! 😂). That purple is a stunner! 💜 The orange looks neon on my phone screen...MH's colours are so vibrant. P.S the final painting turned out really pretty. 😊
I love my tube squeezer. Makes me feel more confident that I'm getting every last drop out of my tubes! Yeah, it was really hard to use that much paint out of the tubes, but it was definitely worth it in the end. Thanks, Becky!
I watched this video in two parts, each time with a huge smile on my face, Miranda, but I admit, while watching the first half, wondering, gently, "What took you so long to discover the joys of own-made 'convenience colours?" It was soooo much fun to watch you having a lot of fun with your six tubes, and the painting at the end really showed them off - not at their best, I think, due to the Hahnemühle paper, but none-the-less, still a joy to watch (as usual, I slowed it down, to savour it better!). I hope this doesn't sound 'off', but I'm genuinely glad that you don't like this paper! So many sang its praises, and so few did proper testing.... Annie was one of very few who shared my feelings about it. And like you, I bought more than one - I still have an untouched square one in my sketchbook supply box. I'm using the A5 portrait for my still-early experiments with plein air urban sketching, and so long as that's all I do with it, it does ok, but whenever I look at the first one I did (the indigo mountain scene which meant so much to me) it reminds me not to be so easily taken in by the hype! it's also a challenge to make it work, which is also good for me! Sorry - I'm waffling on - I have one more thing to do to finish this project (some extras to make as we had some new people in church when I did the presentation on Sunday), but then it's done. I'll write a proper reply to your lovely email as soon as I can, but thank you! It was indeed lovely to receive! 😊
Well, I have done color-mixing for convenience colors in the past, but not very often because I haven't really had a lot of tube paints available to me, and the tube paints I did have came in large sets with all the colors I already needed, so there's that. It's so much fun to make my own colors! I did the same thing with the Isaro paints, and I'm glad I did. Yeah, the Hahnemuhle paper is not my favorite, but it works okay and I'll use it up eventually. Thanks, Barney; always so nice to read your comments. Hugs.
Hahaha, I just love Cookie. ❤️ This particular cat always tries to cuddle with the dogs, but Duffy usually ignores her, sadly, and Jack thinks she's a squeaky toy, lol.
You're a magician. Those DYI's are gorgeous. I loved all the purples on the mix chart. I thought your picture was fabulous. Very soothing to look at. Kim doesn't live in Fla anymore. She moved home (I think Washington state) due to her illness. I am really concerned for her.
Oh, you're right! I knew when I said that about Kimberly that it didn't sound right. She did tell me about her move. I'm just too busy to retain some important things in my brain right now. I need to check in with her again. Thanks, Beth!
Agree; lots of fun. I appreciate your continuing review; no more questions. Also the watercolor painting techniques were very helpful! I'm calling you the Master Mixer :) I have been delaying the same project for my basic M Graham tube set Christmas gift. You have inspired me to get it done! TY
Hi, Miranda, That was really cool. I am behind in my video watching, but i did finally watch you make the mix chart on patreon. Your new paint colors are fab I lous! Gorgeous painting too!
So fun! I actually did a very similar activity today in my own studio. Must be something in the water☺️ I love the orange and purple you came up with! And how AWESOME to create your perfect Payne’s Grey!! Some are just too blue. Love how you just circumvented that by making your own. The brown is dreamy-hope you really enjoy these paints (in the DVD case palette❤❤❤) Excellent mixes! Thank you for sharing!
So pretty! I love your mixes, very tempted to splurge on them but will wait for some lightfastness results. If you have a black light bulb, would you see how they look under it? I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tell if there's fluorescent dye in them. I absolutely would keep the bright mixes, would probably stick a few empty pans in the corners to mix muteds as needed and have handy for easy adjustment the next time .
Yay I finally had time to watch this!! Been a hectic week. I just finished my Hahnemuhle sketchbook, and I don't think I'll ever buy another. The paper just isn't that good, it tears easily, and starts to wear/pill easily. I've never liked it, and I'm glad I'm finally done with it!! I love the vibrant colors on these, but yeah, you're right, it is concerning that they were evasive to Kimberly when she asked for pigment info. I'll look forward to seeing how your tests turn out!
Yeah, I'm bummed I have two more of these sketchbooks to use because I prefer my Etchr ones for watercolor, but I'm determined to find a really fun use for them regardless. I also won't be purchasing them again. At least not currently. Fingers crossed on the lightfast testing.
omg so what greens were used to get that gorgeous black/brown color?!? would be perfect as an amazing black, mediterianian or south asian skin tone! as well as for shadows

I'm thrilled with the new colors. It's fun to have such a complete palette. Have a super weekend as well, Valerie. Thank you!
Beautiful colors in swatching, mixing, and painting was exactly what I wanted today. Thank you!
Ah, I'm so glad! I was pretty nervous putting out a 40-minute video, but didn't want to cut anything out.
Wow, such a luminous orange…very nice!
Pretty paintings. Lovely watercolors. Glad you like them.
Thank you. ❤️

Thanks, and yes! So fun. Good luck with your move - that's always so much work. At least you'll have painting to look forward to!

Oh, yea! Thanks for letting me know. I was really nervous about putting out such a long video. 😁
i love this! watching the various mixes you swatches whilst figuring it out is so fun! thank you for another great video miranda! :D
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It was incredibly fun to make and play with those beautiful colors.

That orange is beautiful!
Thanks; it's really powerful!
It almost reminds me of dioxazine purple. Nice ☺☺ Karen from Canada
Thanks, Karen! I do love this new purple. ❤️

Thanks, Revonda!
I love the painting! The paints look nice too. 😊 Cookie is jealous Jack got to cuddle with a cat. 😂

Wonderful! Thank you for the video!
Thank you too!

Keep the orange vibrant. You can easily dull it down as you paint.
Yes!
