    What an excellent and informative video. I was thinking about what colors to possibly buy, but there wasn't much swatches out there. This helped a lot. You also have a nice and calming voice.

      Thank you for your kind comments, Kashfia!
      There's barely any information regarding the swatches of these watercolors online.
      I'm glad this was helpful. These are still sticky in the pan after a week of pouring so not sure how well they'd behave during shipping.

    • @TracyIndy
      @TracyIndy Год назад +3

      @@mikiwatercolor in the winter I find it much easier to dry sticky pigments in a pan if they are placed near a heat register. The warm air helps dry them down somewhat. I'm not sure where you live or what your climate is like. Another option to quicken dry time is a food dehumidifier. I have an old one that I use just for paints. Thanks again for a great video. 👍

    Thank you for sharing the swatches. Some are very different to what I am accustomed to seeing and so many are very lovely but I wasn’t extremely impressed with the yellow ochre and that family. But there are others that are very impressive. Having a company that has both granulating and non granulating definitely helps artists to diversify. Thank you 😊

    Thanks so much for this video :). The PR206 is surprisingly brown! I thought it would be a bit more reddish.

    • @mikiwatercolor
      @mikiwatercolor  Год назад +2

      PR206 is so gorgeous. It leans towards brown ( for example brown madder in WN watercolors) and also red (permanent alizarin crimson WN previously). Though WN have recently changed their permanent alizarin pigment to PR179.
      Thank you for watching 🙂

    • @awatercolourist
      @awatercolourist Год назад +3

      @@mikiwatercolor Thanks Miki. Yes, PR206 is a very beautiful paint. According to Handprint, the W&N Permanent Alizarin Crimson was actually made from Quinacridone Pyrrolidone and PR206. Quinacridone Pyrrolidone is not on the Colour Index so it does not have pigment number. Quinacridone Pyrrolidone is the pigment in W&N’s Permanent Carmine.

    Thanks for doing this. That’s a huge investment in MH. Very useful to see the swatches and the comments. O73, R254, v23, B15, g7 and bk31 ‘granulating’ is unusual and of interest. How would you asses their granulation? Minimal or b29 / cobalt-like granulation levels?

    • @mikiwatercolor
      @mikiwatercolor  Год назад +1

      You're welcome, Dave!
      Yes, it is so unusual to see varying granulation levels in the pigments you mentioned. However, it isn't as intense like in PB29, minimal in the phthalo greens and blues, PO73, PV23 but noticable in PR254 and Pbk31.
      It can be a bit challenging to assess granulation in high tinting pigments but it would be great to see this in mixes.
      For example, Bright green light is a mix of PG7 and PY180 and exhibited some granulation.

      I poured them out in pans almost a week before swatching. They probably contain honey because they're sticky and did not completely set yet, thereby making it easy to rewet.
