My daughter has been on dialysis for 8 months and was diagnosed with diabetes since she was 13 .
Her blood pressure has been skyrocketing for the last month.
She has been in the hospital since May 27 and she doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
She is on 4 different kinds of blood pressure medication but will be taken off one soon.
In the last 2 weeks the doctor is ordering for 3 liters of fluid to be pulled out per treatment .!
She screams in pain after each treatment. I can only hope and pray she is getting the proper treatment medically possible.
I don’t know if she will make it home to see her 2 baby girls.
Please help me pray for her.🙏
She is only 30 years old.

I am really sorry to hear about your daughter. One thing I personally found out for myself when I was ill and suggested to my doctor was A possible Vit.D3 deficiency. I asked to be tested and found out I had almost no vitamin D..( 6ng,). It was affecting my blood pressure and they wanted me on BP meds. I refused and instead changed my diet and started taking D3 and K2. That was 13 years ago and I am now 70. I have never had a blood pressure issue since then. I would perhaps have your daughter be visited by a functional health doctor. As a mom myself I feel for you and will keep you in my prayers.

Once they go on that I was in my early 30s. No question why I was sick, as one doctor said the biggest question why was I still alive? I feel for all of us with rare diseases. It's tough. I have Barrters Syndrome. I take 4800 mg a day sometimes more, I also take 100mg of magnesium. I lived for 35 years before I was found to have terribly low potassium, I had my first heart attack at age 23. Heart problems puzzled doctors. My brother died of a cardiac arrest at age 26. He of course had the same disease. I have become an expert at electrolytes, only reason I am still alive at age 85.

What? So if you lose potassium it's because you're consuming diuretics. So if you're not taking diuretics and you're just urinating everyday like all other mammals do, you're not losing any minerals, water soluble minerals from the water that leaks out of your gonads,... 🤣, no no. Snooze to me I didn't know that.
      😴❣️❣️❣️
I didn't realize that I have to be drinking coffee or anything like that to lose that mineral cuz I thought it was a daily ongoing process no matter what, no matter what!!!! Nobody ever mentions the fact that it's four and a half grams they talk milligrams to make it sound like it's really insignificant. Absorbing the proper amount of K everyday is a huge pain in the butt no matter how you eat if you're on keto it's harder if you're on a low fat diet if you're a pig or whatever you are I don't give a damn but this is like a big problem here. The FDA won't allow it in supplements. Mean while Atrial Fibrillation is a growing disease, and the FDA are a bunch of chimpanzees. Everybody preaches what you need but you get like what 13 bananas in your daily diet.to.get the K? Forget Keto. Potatoes... Forget those too. The Greens. Go for it if you can hack it and if you don't mind kidney stones from the oxalic acid from the spinach. No it ain't easy...

Potassium indeed! Years ago I "drowned myself" in water. Meaning, I drank so much water I flushed the potassium & sodium out of my body sending me into a grandmal seizure while I was working. That seizure made me hit my head, end up in the hospital in a coma.
The good lord kept me alive. Undoubedtly as a complete depletion of potassium and sodium can also give you a massive heart attack. We are what we put into our bodies.....we become the fluids and foods we put into our bodies...
I became a fish out of water by literally drowning myself by the water I consumed and flushing the minerals & vitamins my body needed to function.
If you do anything with your day worthwhile, add these videos to your daily routine. It can save your life, literally. And these videos will give you a new lease on life! A new "you" by taking care of you and understanding how our bodies truely work. How our health is literally connected to all we consume. That consumption starts with the gut & moves throughout our bodies from there.
God bless this doctor. Mine put me on a cocktail of perscription meds after my seizure and coma that would've killed a horse :(.
My doctor put me on Xanax 10mg x 4 times a day
    Valium 10mg × 4 a day
    Flexral 10 mg x 4 a day
    Vicodin 750mg x 4 a day
    Blood pressure meds x 4 a day
    Naprisan 200mg x 4 a day
    Tegretol 2000 mg ER x 2 a day
No, this is NO joke. I have the medical records to prove it. These prescriptions went on for YEARS.
I should've died. A "cocktail" of medical poisons that I should not even be here to tell you about. A "cocktail " of pharmaceuticals that my "candy doctor" as Colorado patients like to call him, should have killed me. Instead I woke up one day, started reducing my seizure meds, all meds on my own. Weined myself off of them....slowly! My doctor was very unhappy. As my blood tests that I was required to take every 3 months showed significant reduction in tegretol etc...this was my choice & he was unhappy. I've had NO seizures since the day I started my SELF medical care. Not one. After my initial seizure at work, I had many after including when on medication. No, I've had not one. That was 10 years ago. Not one medication has entered my body in any form. After research and classes on natural healing for two years, my journey into mind, body, and natural healing, health started. That was 7 years ago. My love for life came back 10 years ago when I chose to take myself off ALL the above medications. I have not looked back since. I baffle the medical community as I have encountered a trio to the ER recently falling on ice at a families cattle ranch out west. Why? Because i am healthy. Take no meds. Yep, they actually were bewildered. Imagine that....lol (sarcastic).
We all need to understand this is a process of unlearning everything we were taught, exposed to in the name of big pharma. It is a journey that good people such as this doctor can help you meet your maximum potential for your health, physically which of course becomes mentally as well. It is all beautifully connected. Thank you sir, for all you do! Thank you sir, for being you! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping humanity be all they can be without the guise of "chemicals".
    Sincerely LeeAnn

wow momma k. i'm glad you are ok. i went to er in oct 2008. i ended up in icu with a k level at 2.4 and had to get bags pumped into my hands and was on a heart monitor. because the er was treating me like it was all in my head and very badly i told them i was leaving after sleeping most of the time in the er and kept telling them i didn't feel right my hands were tingling really bad and i was really tired. so they ended up treating me like it was a mental issue. finally the dr says to me "i found out what yr problem is" and he said "i don't even know how you can walk and talk how you are". i told him off as i was getting dressed because i had had it after 8 hrs of how they were treating me. after the icu visit from 2008 on i had to be on potassium. all the dr's even kidney specialist couldn't figure out why i was dumping all my potassium but seems after about 1 and half yrs after getting bad teeth pulled my kidney reversed and out of no were started functioning properly. I live alone too but i worry my heart has been damaged from the hypokalemia i suffered for over a decade!

I’m on two that are connected and seriously considering leaving one at least Sunshine. Healthy food. Attitude etc are brilliant medicines. When I saw my parents in their last years their counters were full of medicines. Worried me crazy. Like my Inlaws…one Rx often sets off another issue so another Rx comes and it continues. Yes, some are truly needed but often, our nutrition and life style can be the best medicine
Outdoors. Sunshine. Not sunscreen Working in gardens. Music whether played or heard in birds singing and puppies calling, Laughter. Walking. Wholesome foods. Puppies who snuggle and give kisses, kitties who purr, Love of friends and family, and self (I fail on the last one too often). Within weeks I became normal with regular bowel movements. I had been diagnosed with IBS and prescribed a few medications to treat my symptoms, but I decided not to take those or listen to the pat suggestions from the GE MDs. I am so glad I watched this! I went to the emergency room because I was having shortness of breath, my muscles felt tight in my neck, jaw, face, and chest. I could barely walk up the stairs without feeling faint. My legs felt like logs. My bp kept bottoming out. No one could tell me what was wrong. They drew my blood and told me my K+ was a little low, but they didn’t say what the level was. It was actually 2.8! I don’t even know how it got that low because I hadn’t vomited or had any diarrhea. I don’t drink etoh. The ED sent me home and told me it was stress. My muscles were still cramped up and no one even thought to address the K+ issue. They just thought I needed antidepressants. Thank you so much for explaining these symptoms.

As an adrenal patient who was formerly on full hormone replacement, I would like to remind people to have their blood levels of all these things checked before they take potassium. And don’t forget that taking magnesium can knock down your potassium. That’s something most people don’t realize I have actually fallen down from taking too much magnesium, by prescription, and it dumping my potassium levels. The more magnesium you take the more potassium you need to take. In general but this gets in the endocrinology and is quite complicated so please see a doctor and get your blood levels checked. Your electrolytes especially potassium. I could say more, But I suggest everyone see a functional medicine doctor when it comes to this.

I was in college, working like a half asleep zombie. I had gotten to the point where my legs felt like they were tree stumps. No flex. Walking became a terrible strange nightmare. Went to doctor. He told me to buy $3 bottle of potassium and to take 99 mg morning and 99 mg nightly. I just spent $600.00 to see this doctor in Katy TX and was really REALLY piffed that I came away with a $3 solution. Potassium. Well, I bought the crap and started taking it. I was so mad, I could spit grenades. But, to my shock, and I mean SHOCK, I had dramatic changes in my whole body. My heart rate, at that time was 160 at rest and would shoot to 180s if I did something as simple as putting wet clothes into the dryer. I was on metaprolol for my heart rate. Well, started taking the potassium and not only did my legs release, my heart rate went down, my blood pressure improved, and my whole body felt amazing. Here's what I mean...did you know that you could lose your yawn and lose the ability to even need to stretch? I remember clearly that all of a sudden, in the morning, I needed to stretch, after taking the potassium supplements. It was amazing. All my body would engage in a full body yawn. Sure enough, after about 4 days, got the blood results in, this was back in 2004, and my potassium levels were so low, the doctor then literally prescribed me strong potassium to take. But, that $3 potassium probably helped prevent a stroke or heart attack, at that time.

It would be 4 or 5 years ago when I got a phone call from my doctor in the early evening. She said my blood test results returned and I must go immediately to Belmont Hospital (Lake Macquarie, Australia). I asked why. She replied "you have very low potassium levels". I said but I feel fine and I'm on my way to the shops for food. She replied then go and come back quickly and get a taxi to the hospital. You MUST go. I thanked her and said I would. At the hospital I was checked and told to stay there, they would not let me go. I stayed with a potassium drip in my arm for 5 days. Because my veins were quite small the potassium was not getting through quick enough. The next day a technician explained he would very carefully be guided by a screen to put the tube into my heart or a main vein that went there. That pumped enough potassium into my heart and satisfied I was released in the late afternoon to go home with a prescription of potassium fizzy tablets. The reason of my "life threatening low potassium levels" was my increase of licorice root tea from 1 teaspoon/day to 3 drinks per day. I don't drink licorice root tea any more.

I work to assure all of the first three are available in my body during heat, times of stress, and days when I'm just not eating correctly to keep the cramps at bay. I went to the ER last week due to irregular heartbeats (pvc) that I could feel, dizziness, sob. Turns out my potassium was low and I was dehydrated. They gave me it fluids and an extra dose of potassium and sent me home. Staying hydrated and making sure I take my potassium and eat it too.

Hi Dr Mandell. I was in the ER one week ago today, with terrible chest pain, vertigo, fatigue, and short of breath. I am fit and follow a great diet and exercise routine. I went in thinking I had a pinched nerve. Tingling in my left foot, short of breath, off balance, and slight chest pain in my sternum. They did bloodwork and immediately found my potassium was very low with a high D-dimmer. No blood clot found after CT scan. They gave me two cups of potassium to drink (absolutely dreadful) but I felt much better within a few days! I was told by my ER nurse that people who do keto must take electrolytes, because of the loss of potassium. I don’t follow a keto diet, but thought this is something to mention since many people are following that diet today.
    Thanks Dr Mandell!!
    Cheers! 🍌

I was a nurse for 30 years, had to be put on seizure medication. After 15 years I had a severe episode of pancreatitis. They changed my medication. Pancreatitis resolved and I noticed after a few months that all my GI symptoms also resolved. I told my doctors about GI problems and they had nothing to offer. After I retired, I took time to take care of my health, followed information in a diabetes meal management book, focusing on veggies and fruits and "white meats" and EXERCISE. I lost 25 #s. Now, I have come across Dr.Mandell, bringing our attention to all these maladies that afflict us, thinking it just happens to an aging body. But he is spot on, like he could read me like a book. Now, I have something else to work on! Thank you Dr., Mandell, you come across like a very caring person and wanting to help as many people as possible.

They are easy to keep in the car or in your truck or wherever you may need iit iif you are feeling weak and dizzy.. it’s more pricey but better! After watching a video on keto, I decided to cut out the daily banana and orange juice. Around that time, I started having heart palpitations at night. They got bad enough to cause me anxiety which kept me up. It was happening like every half minute. The same doctor who made the keto film had another about low potassium. So now I know, and I'm back to having a banana and orange juice for breakfast. My palpitations have pretty much ceased at night, thank God, and the weird uncomfortableness in my chest. I've been eating about 7 almonds every day for a long time for the iodine so it's good to find out they have potassium too. The weather is hot and making me sweat during outdoor work so now that I know the importance of potassium, I bought some low sodium V8 which has 20% RDA of potassium per 8 oz serving and 40 calories and also Gatorlyte, which is expensive but has loads of potassium. I was shocked to see that Regular Gatorade and other sports drinks hardly have any! Thanks for the list, I've heard Avocados and Brazil nuts are good sources too

Doc you missed the most abundant and important source of potassium the highest potassium you can get from a vegetable comes from the beet greens, most people just cut them off and throw them away but they are literally throwing away gold! Eat your beet greens, one serving has a ton of potassium in it, way more than bananas or avocados. I have a video on it on my channel.

I went to the ER bc I was low on salt and I was drinking too much water. I now add 1/2 Teaspoon sodium to my foods throughout the day. And I eat a few bananas . This has helped me reverse some of my symptoms.
