Karan was a perfect casting in the movie. His acting was awsome. He suited the role. I just feel that the Karan we know, like the way he is, people din't accept him in a serious role like Kambata of Bombay velvet. But i personally felt he was Kambata only!
He talks about putting writers at the forefront of films. I hope that he can walk that talk because he failed in taking out the item song from his films. He spoke of how he’ll never do that in his films but okayed “Aira Gaira” to be in Kalank. No matter how much they tried to downplay it by saying it was shot aesthetically but bottomline it was an item song because Krithi was only there for the duration of that song. Hopefully he can do better
Aira gaira was a beautiful piece. There was nothing derogatory about it towards women. And there is something called a cameo performance. Don't demean something without actually understanding the issue at hand. Item songs objectify women. This song didn't do that.
Krithi had no role whatsoever outside of the song regardless of its lyrics, so what would you call that? Same goes for Madhuri's dance with Ranbir in the song Ghagra or Priyanka's dance in Ram Leela. The lyrics may not have been vulgar or objectifying women but it's still an item song by the fact that the actresses were not seen in the film after the song. That's how an Item Song works.

I really appreciate Anupama’s content but please a little suggestion. Every time the interviewee finishes an answer, please replace your nervous laugh with a short reply or a simple reaction. It feels so forced and as if you just want to move to the next question. Even a simple reply like ok, noted, good point, would be better than a laugh.

Who wants to watch the mediocre content bollywood churns. Look what Netflix/Amazon are offering. Already witnessed the craze about Squid game and so many more shows.
