Im not going to listen to the entire interview but the smartest thing Karan Johar ever did is having those two lovely kids and i think hes doing fine as a father grt going 👍🌹
He is the best sharpest brain in the business today but a big glaring dark spot for the gay community. Also the way he thrives on gossip and creates misunderstandings within the industry through his talk show is cheap entertainment for us but there are actual people that suffer due to that. He has no compassion for fellow directors and loves to see them fail, openly admitted by him, but not so directly. He cashes in on his sexuality but has done nothing substantial for the community despite having the resources for it. He capitalises on nostalgia and nepotism to stay relevant. There cannot be a more double faced (covers it up by calling it a gemini trait), insecure, brainy, shrewd businessman in the history of Bollywood. Movie mafia for a reason. I want that he gets all the Karma that he deserves for all the behind the scenes stuff that he may have pulled that we dont know of and most of the insensitivity that he has shown openly to his fellow industry friends and most of the times to outsiders. It's intelligent of him to cover up his nepotistic practices by calling it natural and saying that it happens everywhere but the real issue is that you can't bully outsiders to promote your untalented favorites. It's a diversion/deflection technique to sway from the original problem at hand and appear a victim that Karan has mastered by now. Rocky Rani was a good film no doubt and therefore I urge him to hire new writers and never write films himself that he wants to direct.
I just love listening to Karan Johar. There are some people in this world that when they talk you just want to just listen to them peacefully, Karan Johar is one of them. The way he talks and tell stories could be easily seen in his movies. Loved it ❤❤
I thought I’m the only one think like this ,I have one year old so I can’t watch tv or phone .. in his nap time all do is listen to karan’s interviews I know it sounds weird but It makes me happy
I feel like hugging Karan, for being strong throughout despite being named and blamed for the way he is. What matters is that he’s still creating magic on screen. I for once was one of the haters, but maybe I’ve evolved as a man myself.
Karan is so articulate in his words. And it is nice to know that behind his snobbish and class loving persona lies a sweet, vulnerable guy with a great perspective about human relations who has seen and suffered much. No wonder he makes great movies about relationships. And no one can deny his quality of self awareness and acceptance. This being his best quality....
If Karan is reading this message I would like to tell him this - "You are brave to accept your flaws and share your realisations on gender politics and how even you didn't know better. You have really grown and become a wise, intelligent and gorgeous human being. Your understanding of parenting and the fact that you are raising both your kids with equal treatment and that you have made movies like Bombay Talkies and that your production house has made movies like Kapoor and Sons and that you made this fulfilling movie Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani, speak volumes about your deeper understanding of gender and is a testament of your immense growth as a human being. After watching this interview I can say that finally you are home. Finally you are speaking your truest words with a lot of confidence. I am really happy to be able to witness this growth in you. Lots of love." Thanks Nikhil for this amazing interview with someone who I have grown up with..I have followed his work and his interviews in the newspapers, on tv and now on social media forever. This one was amazing.
Karan Johar was academically topper in his school and college - he is extremely talented running business - well spoken person - love Nikhil calm energy as a host ❤
Karan Johar's magnetic personality makes it an absolute delight to listen to him. He exudes honesty, coolness, and humor, and his profound love for Hindi cinema is truly remarkable. You’re an inspiration karan you always have been not only to me but to many. Thank you, Karan, for simply being yourself.
The fact that he admits his mistakes and what he learnt from them and how he grew from them with such sincerity and genuineness, makes this episode so much more special! I love watching karan talk.. he is very wise and evolved! And I totally believe why he won that inter school contest with his Essay as he is such a good story teller!! ❤❤
I don't truly understand why this man gets trolled so much, to me Karan is humorous, effluent, honest and most of all he is genuinely REAL in the fake world.i love him for just being him .hugs to this lovable yet respectable man !
@@farahyeasmin6230 I kind of agree with u ,still I feel he is trolled unnecessarily too much for his personal life ,family as well whi h is not right .
It’s a treat to just keep listening to karan when he is being interviewed. We are thankful to you for not going any other path other than filmmaking, you have entertained and given us such treasures over the years especially the last one Rocky and Rani which we are still not over yet. I completely relate to karan’s feelings what he went through as child or school going lad as my close friend has been subjected to the same treatment by other school boys but now he has grown up to be the most smartest, intelligent and sensitive human being just like Karan Johar.
@10:02, Karan mentions Goriawalla's chocolate cake; that was super delicious. I cannot remember the location but I think at Tardeo/Kemps Corner. But that chocolate one can eat all by oneself :D It is a delight to be audience to Karan Johar's conversations.
I just loved the conversation. But very few people will be able to distinguish that this show is about life and koffee with karan is just a fun show. The day we all will learn to distinguish the situations of our lives and act accordingly, then I believe that this world will definitely be a better place to live in

I honestly rever this man for his eloquence, candidness, combating childhood insecurities and sustaining while dealing with the loss of the person whom You loved the most, but still I'm in the utter state of bewilderment regarding his NOT-SO-EMPATHETIC and considerate behaviour towards others' turbulences and history. Why does he mock people for their looks and fashion choices when he's still dealing with those body image issues.😐
The SRK anecdotes were lovely. I wish you could have gone a but further on the LGBTQ on-screen representation and asked him why the big production houses (Dharma, YRF, Excel) can't do a medium budget glossy happy urban LGBTQ romance, now that Badhaai Do has already done it in the small town setting, but I understand why you couldn't push it. He did answer in his own way.
Such a decent and fun interview ❤ Watching this show for the 1st time for Karan Johar It's always nice to watch his interviews but i love the way they conducted this interview...it was very free flowing... simple questions which lead to deep conversations ❤🤌 I think now I am gonna watch all the other episodes which I have missed...you guys are doing great 👏👏

Hate him or like him, you can't deny this guy carved his own empire within Bollywood, you could say. my relative, so he ran away from his family and went to Mumbai back in the 70s cause he wanted a new life. He had barely any money, and through making friends somehow managed by staying over at their places and sleeping on the floor and stuff. He hustled really hard, and after learning some skills managed to get a job as a local manager in a small company there. Mind you, our family is very academic, science-engineering oriented. Fast forward to the 90s, he has finally got his own flat in Mumbai, but still isn't that well off and is in a lot of debt. He would sometimes walk around Bandra imagining a future life sometime as motivation, and one time he happened to come across a young, chubbier Karan Johar with some friend at a tea stall. (this was sometime after the release of DDLJ ) he watched him from a distance and saw how he spoke to his friend and the chaiwala and was amazed at how well he carried his conversation. he went up to him and asked for an autograph then, which Karan gave. that was the first time he saw someone cary themselves in conversation and charisma as well as Karan did. and since then, he's always been a lowkey voucher for Karan. he watches him on KWK, his interviews, and since that day he's now a top-level businessmen who does deals with people in the Middle east, sitting in his house in Powai. anytime you ask him why he likes KJo, he says it's because if you want to learn good networking skills with different people in different environments, there's almost no one better than KJo. he's someone great at making sure everyone feels involved in the conversation and understands social cues. i don't think it was just nepotism that made Karan famous, absolutely not. there were many filmmakers like his father Yash Johar, who were much more rich and successful. but their children didn't become as famous or popular. Karan clearly learned a LOT and had his own experiences from his upbringing and childhood that shaped him into becoming the filmmaker he did.
Keep it up Karan Sir!! Finally nepotism is out of conversation😊 Am happy how focussing on your well being has lead you to realize things you did wrong/could have done better on-screen wrt representation of women. I like this WIP version of you ☺
Love this person's pov. He knows the flawsome aspect of his cinema and his constant effort to make it better with gender politics or culture aspect of it. His power of making fun of himself is quite appealing. Also, what an end to this season. Beautiful interactions Nikhil. Loved the way you made all your guests comfortable sharing their vulnerability.
The person who celebrates their brokenness and flaunts their flaws often possesses a higher level of intelligence compared to the so-called intelligent people in society. I have never allowed the world to define 'greatness' for me in any sense of the word because the world is unintelligent to understand that one's existence is primarily determined by genetics, parenting, and social conditioning-essentially, what is called 'predestination.' I am a huge admirer of Karan Johar, and the movie 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' proved early in his career that he is a gem. The film is a classic example of first-time real love. While everything eventually wears off its novelty and ceases to be completely enjoyable, the song 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' is probably the only song I don't think I will ever find boring. It brings up so many beautiful memories of my childhood in the 90s. Sending love to Karan Johar from Pakistan! ♥♥♥
2 days before Koffee with Karan, NICE! I am a Gemini too, the duality between extroverted expressions self and introverted emotions is real... almost at the end now, would be waiting for season 2 from next month...
Thank you for this video. It helped in so much listening to Kjo. If Kjo ever reads this, I would like to thank you for being so honest. It helped me realise that I am not the only one going through social anxiety and body issues. I wish you could be my therapist.
If he had life like this.. then why the nepo kids is his only favorite? I dont understand..he should bring the actors and actresses who have no connection in bollywood too.
❤😂 loved the interview....he is.always soooo authentic , he is sooo brave ....I connect with him .....and yes with all his hardships ....he has gratitude and loyalty.....these are priceless gem which he has ... respect for Mr K Johar ❤🙏
Okay, I think when Rahul said hum ek bar jeete hai, ek bar marte hai pyar ek bar hota hai... it shows how to thought at that time, when he wasn't aware about his love for Anjali or simply didn't see anything beyond Tina's demise.
How hypocritical of Karan- 1. In his book he writes he never liked people speaking hindi as it seemed downmarket to him as per his book but he was fascinated with bollywood movies in childhood. 2. He has a interact club plate of school time which is snow white not a single tint of yellowing in over 4-5decades must be titanium quality plastic board
What a delight listening to Karan, he has such a fabulous personality. He is an amazing speaker and entertainer. His friends must feel so lucky to have him in their lives.
Probably one of Karan’s best interviews. His journey and his outlook on world. Lots of love and warm hugs to him ❤ Kudos to the interviewer as well, his sensitivity shown in framing the questions 👍🏽
Till date I liked Karan's work but now after this Interview I will immensely respect him as a Human.... I have a small defect in my leg while walking...& I always think it's a God's gift to me but in my School boys use to call me Shakuni Mama from Mahabharat also I was kicked out of a school play & my teacher told If I fall on the stage while performing his play would fail.... Bit I overcomed it....
Koi toh Karan ki PR team ko best pr ka award dedo please! This guys know exactly how to plant narratives in the audience, he need some more work on brand promotions though.
While story lines and acting are important in enjoying cinema, I must say that the physical features and the charm of the actors play a huge part in the appeal of the audience. I don't mean any disrespect to Ranveer Singh and I'm pleased Karan Johan and Indian audiences find him extraordinarily appealing on screen, but I am not enticed by him at all, to take the trouble to go to the movies, like I am when it is Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Randeep Hooda and Arjun Rampal, who are starring in them. Vicky Kaushal, also seems to appeal to many in India, but again, I don't find him alluring either. However, I am drawn to Irfan Khan(RIP), Rajkumar Rao and Ayushman Khurana, whose acting talent I do admire and enjoy. So, it's not about cancelling anyone - just preference for one kind of persona over another.
I love him and his sincerity. Also, I think he understands love. Rocky aur Rani was my favorite movie this year especially with sick movies like Animal. He is intelligent vulnerable and honest with his words.
Dear Karan and the interviewer and makers of this show, THANK YOU SO MUCH❤ THIS IS SO RELATABLE. also growing up watching KJo movies, has such an impact that his films and him feel very closed to my heart. Loved listening to him, his traumas feel so so relatable. Making me understand about myself better way... Thank you for opening up... Loads of love for that young child Karan Johar and this matured man today.... ❤❤❤
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this interview. I think there can no one so honest like him. Every word he spoke is so healing . I respect about him the way he tells incidents with all the detailing no filter, again it proves his honesty. Respect you for that karan so so much. ❤
Awesome interview. I love how smart KJo is. He saying that young Rohan in K3G was himself agree with my theory. That he is the real Rohan and SRK is Rahul... in the basics of the characters ❤
Love him 😍😍😍😍 so cute! Eating birthday cakes by himself, he is so real, so cute, so adorable, who isn't like him, I know I am, eating my way through depressed days I love him!
Every interview of Karan Johar will make you realize what a phenomenal storyteller he is, which is why he is one of the most celebrated filmmakers of India today.
His videos are oddly therapeutic, his honesty, his self awareness, self criticism .. I love him more as person than a movie maker
His personality got shattered, when he worked or started to do favour for nepotism.

Karan is such a pleasure to listen to.❤
Yup. I always watch his interviews. ❤
If he had life like this.. then why the nepo kids is his only favorite? I dont understand..he should bring the actors and actresses who have no connection in bollywood too.
Kjo is cool n one of the most gifted filmmaker. His love for parents wins my heart. Thank you. Be blessed
Despite being hated for becoming himself, he's truly a wonderful man. Huge respect to you Karan.✊
Love listening to karan Johar...fantastic interview 🎉🎉
How hypocritical of Karan-
1. In his book he writes he never liked people speaking hindi as it seemed downmarket to him as per his book but he was fascinated with bollywood movies in childhood.
2. He has a interact club plate of school time which is snow white not a single tint of yellowing in over 4-5decades must be titanium quality plastic board
This man is honest ❤❤❤
Media made him villain 😢😢
I think real rocky randhava is Mr. Karan johar himself.
One of his most honest n beautiful interviews !!! I was hooked throughout ❤
Listening to Karan talk about his father makes me so sad about my relationship with my father.
I’m literally crying and laughing at the same time.
Why does people troll him though.. he is one of the best film directors in bollywood.. And that is the most truth..
Koi toh Karan ki PR team ko best pr ka award dedo please! This guys know exactly how to plant narratives in the audience, he need some more work on brand promotions though.
Plant fake narratives
Loved this interview.karan johar u r intelligent,honest and so relatable;🥰🥰
In 1993 his father paid 7 lakh fees for his french education despite having a 'tiny' export import business 🙄
You are such an amazing person. Any day I prefer to listen to you than any other superstar in the Bollywood.
Love Karan for this authentic self & evolving person with time 🔥
Very very therapeutic, the words were straight out of his heart and shot directly to our heart, loved listening to this😊
More power to you Karan 👍 Love your movies & your interviews 💃
I love him and his sincerity. Also, I think he understands love. Rocky aur Rani was my favorite movie this year especially with sick movies like Animal. He is intelligent vulnerable and honest with his words.
What a fabulous conversation--a very good interviewer and the one Karan Johar. It's a pleasure listening to him
Dear Karan and the interviewer and makers of this show, THANK YOU SO MUCH❤ THIS IS SO RELATABLE. also growing up watching KJo movies, has such an impact that his films and him feel very closed to my heart. Loved listening to him, his traumas feel so so relatable. Making me understand about myself better way... Thank you for opening up... Loads of love for that young child Karan Johar and this matured man today.... ❤❤❤

Karan is a gem
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this interview. I think there can no one so honest like him. Every word he spoke is so healing . I respect about him the way he tells incidents with all the detailing no filter, again it proves his honesty. Respect you for that karan so so much. ❤
Awesome interview. I love how smart KJo is. He saying that young Rohan in K3G was himself agree with my theory. That he is the real Rohan and SRK is Rahul... in the basics of the characters ❤
I never leave a chance to listen you Karan . You are jus awesome
Best interview for the guest really opened up which means the host created a comfort level. Kudos! Very well conducted interview 👏
Love him 😍😍😍😍 so cute! Eating birthday cakes by himself, he is so real, so cute, so adorable, who isn't like him, I know I am, eating my way through depressed days I love him!
Karan Sir is a Gem of a person. SOOO articulate, always love to hear him telling about life, movies or generally anything.
This man is intellectually very clever… I love his communication skills specially in English 🎉
Such a candid interview. KJ is intelligent, transparent and interesting and that’s a fact whether you like it or not!
beautiful interview ❤
Every interview of Karan Johar will make you realize what a phenomenal storyteller he is, which is why he is one of the most celebrated filmmakers of India today.
