Having taken this flight on Japan and Ana I can gurantee that it is not twenty hours. Depending on whether its spring ahead or fall back time on the West Coast the flight is 9:30 or 10:00 hours.
Thanks for your comment. If you are not very tall, I would go with the standard seat over the bulkhead. I found it cumbersome to take out the screen and tray table each time. And the regular seat has a foot rest in front
I wish you went into more depth on the weird seats. Are they comfortable when reclined? Could you sleep at all? I was able to snag a flight out of San Francisco to Manila at the end of this year in business class for only 70k AA miles But my return flight home in Jan 25 from BKK I could only find 50k premium economy. Not even 37.5k main cabin. I've flown Jal's main cabin many times. Their entertainment system blows hardcore. But it's a spacious seat. Is the premium economy even worth it? I really just want to sleep. I've never had premium economy ever so I'm really interested in these weird wacky seats.
Sorry, i didn't go into that much detail on the seat. As I mentioned at the end of the video, the short answer is no! Especially considering how good their economy class is, it is not much of an upgrade. I didn't find the recline within the shell to be that comfortable.
@@ourtravelsa ahh bummer well it's my only option at this point. Just the fact that it's bigger and you only have 1 person next to you on the windows not 2 to walk through at least has to be better than economy even if just a little.
@@ourtravelsa on the 787's it is. But the only flights available for me back to the states in January are on a 777-300 bkk to hnd and hnd to dfw. And on those it's 3-3-3 in economy on JAL.
Lol, no :D, it is my 20 hour experience in JAL premium economy as a combination of 2 flights. TYO -> SFO and SFO -> TYO. Thanks for you comment and glad you liked it :)
I Like The Japan Airlines Premium Economy Seats.Great Trip Report
Thank you 😊. Yes, the seats are probably the best part. But, as i mentioned, i personally couldn't get used to the recline
Nice review, I do like shell seats as the person in front's head doesn't end up in your lap! Thanks for sharing your experience my friend
Thank you!
Yea, a good point!
Agree. Love the SHELL SEATS.
Hi, what a great review! I wonder if you dont have displays at the bulkhead seats. Do you know that?
Thanks! Sorry, i forgot to show part, but yes, there is a display that comes out of the arm rest with the same IFE content.

Totally agree with you! it is a 10 hour flight. I am covering both my outbound and return journey and hence said 20 hours :)
besides, if it is 20 hours, it would be longest flight in the world :D
Nice report. Have to try on day JA.
Thank you!
32" of legroom compared to 42".....yes its definitely worth it
I like the JAL Premium Economy Seat. I like the idea you DON'T RECLINE TO OTHER PEOPLE PERSONAL SPACE. EXCELLENT. Nice ❤❤❤❤🎉
Yep, it is a great idea 🙌
Hi thanks for the report! Which seat would you recommend? Is the bulkhead or the regular premium economy seat?
Thanks for your comment. If you are not very tall, I would go with the standard seat over the bulkhead. I found it cumbersome to take out the screen and tray table each time. And the regular seat has a foot rest in front
ANA JAL and SAS (only when departing from their hub) give you lounge access that's a win that sets them apart from every other airlines.
Oh, i didnt realise that SAS did that too too. Thanks for sharing. To my surprise, even Jal fully flex economy gives lounge benefit.
@@ourtravelsa but only departing from their hub airports for SAS. ANA full flex is the same I believe too
Thank you for your well informed videos. In your opinion, how did the PE meal compare with the E meal from your previous experiences?
@@manuelvalencia9407 it doesn't differ much. I personally wouldn't choose pe for the meal difference on jal

Well, on JAL 787 economy, it is 2-4-2 anyway! ruclips.net/video/gp6qtYjf_go/видео.html

Hi, did it really take 20 hours from SFO to TYO? I thought it only takes 13 hours. Nice video!

I'll be flying that on the week of June 16!
Amazing! Enjoy!
11 hours at the most one way to Tokyo from SF, unless your referring to roundtrip.
Yes, thats right! The video attempts to cover both the outbound and inbound.
6:20 is a geoengineering plane
I was pretty sure it was Eva air as i had flightradar24 on at the time
