Suzie's niece is super brave to make this career change. Any career change can be daunting, but it takes some serious chutzpah to change gears from such a rugged job. I say this as a relatively new nail tech who used to work in male dominated industries. Awesome video as always, Suzie!
30yrs of nails...13yrs of gel polish and I still need help with gel polish and drills.drill bits to use... Susie u explain everything so well....everything I needed to know in this one video. ..thanks Susie‼️
Thx for the gel polishing tips. You are so knowledgeable and skilled. I love your videos. Your niece loves to learn new things, so she likes new challenges. She will love nails b/c there is sooooo much to learn and master. I wish her well in her future endeavors.
Could you show a tutorial on how to do acrylics on people who have no nails ? My partner suffers due to picking on it every damn day 🙄 and he’s very insecure about his thumbs. I would love to help him fix that 😊
Hi thanks for your professional videos. 🌹 I am learning to do nails, I recently took a set off and found green mould on my finger tips. 😮 Should I treat it first completely and then do the false nails again or can I wear another set on top and let it grow out? The greenies came because water got into the cracks and stayed there
Hey guys! I got a question I hope y'all can help me with. So I have 3 daughters and the are 21, 19, and 10 years old. My older two get their nails done all the time and sometimes we even do them ourselves at home with polygel (we haven't graduated to using acrylic at home yet lol). My youngest feels left out. I paint and decorate her nails to make sure she's included but she really wants to use the polygel like her sisters so her nails are longer. Is it safe/ok for a kiddo to have a set of polygel nails or should we just stick to the polish?
I’d stick with polish and gems, stickers, fun art with your youngest for now. That’s a big age gap and she’s a wee bit young to be having heavier products on her nails. I waited until mine were going to prom. I’ve have acrylic for decades but I would do fun things with their nails, take then to the salon for mani/pedi’s twice a year when they were younger. That sort of thing. They were, still are, rather tough on their nails so they don’t have them done (24 & 25 now). When our oldest had her nails done for prom, she adored them until one broke! All I heard was a rather unsavoury word shouted throughout the house 😂. Just my opinion though. Good luck, mum. It’s tough.
@@kimberlygarvin6395you know, I agree she should stay in nail art. She is way too young for polygel. Is her school ok with stickers and gems? I only ask bc our school has a strict policy towards nail art etc. And I tend to agree. But in your case I totally understand the way she feels left out and she might be a little jealous. Moreover, kids that are so young are super sensitive and it is possible to develop an allergy. Children bite their nails and forget to wash their hands, it's better not to risk it. Better safe than sorry 😊
@@Dida16 She's homeschooled this year so as that part really wouldn't be a problem. I think you're right though, I'm just going to stick with polish and gems and such because I really don't want her to develop an allergy. I will just find a way to make it extra special for her so she doesn't feel left out. Thank you for the great advice ❤
Hi Suzi, I shaped, buffed and sand-banded my acrylic nail. When I put on the gel polish it looked shadowey in places and looked in some places almost that there was dust under it even though there wasn’t. I’m thinking maybe I over sand- banded the nail and that it was too smooth. (I didn’t use side to side motions like you) I was using downward long stroke motions in a higher speed. Please any advise 😢😢💕💕🙏🙏
Never never never use Long downward strokes to finish a nail. This technique is only for removing bulk. When you use a Technique, there’s no way you can make the nail smooth and rounded shaped for polish application. And I think the the reason you’re having problems is proving that problem. So finish the Nail back-and-forth with a sanding band only.
Hi! I’ve developed an allergy to gel polish but I recently purchased your polygel, will this also give me the allergy? I’ve been afraid to try it since the gel gives my hands such a rash/blisters
Thank you!! I've noticed that after a day or so I sometimes get ripples underneath the last gel coat when it was smooth the day before... am I not curing long enough?
You’re a great teacher, I noticed you didn’t use basecoat with the gel polish is it not necessary to on acrylic or gel nails and what about natural nails?
It is necessary to an acrylic and to natural nails as well. Probably she used it before but she didn't mention it at the video. She doesn't have all the time of the world. Some things are sort of given after a billion of uploaded videos
I noticed, that even with the index you did in the last video; she needs a fill. I would have liked to see you go over the nail with a flat hard file to accentuate the unevenness in her nails. Maybe to showcase more, that it was the enhancement finishing and not the polish application.
Suzie, I have learned a lot from watching your videos. However, in this one, you skip over some important moments for the sake of simplicity, I hope. The cuticle is not done completely, only partially. The dusting off leaves lots of small particles on the finger. The edge of the nail is overfiled, and a huge portion is missing. If the relative is supposed to become a nail technician, you should be teaching her without shortcuts. Please, Suzie, try not to take it as an insult - I love your work!
I don't understand why nail technicians from US don't use gloves. It's not sanitary. It's not professional. It's not safe. Visit Poland or watch some videos of Polish trainers and you will see how it's done.
The bits should be cleaned (with ultrasonic washer/cleaner) and sterilised (Autoklaw) after each client. The bits should come from proper sterile package. Do you know how easy is to get infected with HIV etc because nail technicians don't support proper health and safety standards? Nail technicians in Poland are much more aware of it.

@@NailCareerEducation Thank you for the detailed reply. I was getting so disheartened, didn’t know what was going wrong. Let me try this next day 🩷 💅🏼
So... did you not need to apply a base first? ❤
Oh no not at all! Not when your applying gel directly to fake nails

Would you please wipe away dust between each step Soni can see it better? Thanks 💖
Great video.
Love ❤ you Suzie!! You’re the best!!! ❤❤❤❤
Hi Suzie. I just saw this Mia's Secret UV monomer and I also haven't tried it myself yet. What are your thoughts about it?
Thank you!! I've noticed that after a day or so I sometimes get ripples underneath the last gel coat when it was smooth the day before... am I not curing long enough?
Hi Suzie, the gel polish in this video...is this the same as shellac or is that something totally different?
It’s just a brand name
It’s a gel polish
Hello Susie, TFS 🥰
So you don’t prep the natural nail bed at all? No dehydrator or primer? Or even add a add a base coat?
You could but it’s not crucial
Depends on the customer
I really loved the color of your own nails... 😊😂
Do you measure both hands with nail tips when putting them on, or just one hand.
Which grit sanding band do you recommend for smoothing a hard gel surface before polish application?
I get the prple ones from profiles backstage. What she was using looks the same.
Great info. ❤

hey Susie!
hey my names bre too and i was wondering the same thing 😭😂
As we can see you don't use "one time brush" or "one time nail file". Why is that?
