First I'd like to say thank you and others who poast repair videos. I was able to repair my mavic mini broken arm and leg because of these videos. But I have been building model rockets and other science and electronic kits since I was 10 years old. So I have accumulated the tools and skills to do most of the repairs I see in these videos. But I couldn't do it without the videos. I wouldn't even attempt it . These guys make it look easy, believe me it's not. I can tell these guys are repair technicians or they build the things. So unless you are a hobbyist with the tools and skills to do these repairs don't attempt it unless you have a new one on order in case you brake it beyond repair. Best case you will have two, worst case you will have spare parts for the next attempt.
My drone took an unfortunate swim a few days ago and i riced my drone to dry it out. When I tried to restart it i got the "gimal stuck" error. Using this video I was able to tear it down, blow it out with compressed air, and successfully assemble it again. Now the gimbal works perfectly! THanks so much for the tutorial!

@@noman1asif No. Once was enough. I bought the gimbal and a lead. Problem I had was there were bits that were broken which did not come in the kit. I paid just over £30.00 for the bits, but now I have to wait a month for stuff which only cost a couple of pounds. I'd advise you to buy a complete gimbal, camera and connecting lead. Don't rush the job, take your time and follow the video. I used the tools I bought off Amazon for repairing Mobile Phones. Sorry I can't help.

This is an excellent teardown and rebuild video for the Mini gimbal. I slowed it to .5 speed for better comprehension, but your attention to detail is appreciated. By the looks of it, the Mavic mini and the Mini 2 gimbals seems to be identical. Since I've crashed and damaged my Mini 2 and destroyed the gimbal (camera is fine) I'm wondering if anyone here knows if the gimbal shells are interchangeable. In other words, is the mini 1 and mini 2 gimbal the same? Thanks for sharing and SUBSCRIBED!

2:10 you made it look easy, for those who cannot open it, there is a release at the botton of it, you might need to unskru to see it.
First, thank you very much for putting this video up! I replaced the transmission cable, no breaks, no problems but when I turned the drone back on, I now get multiple errors including camera malfunction, downward vision sensor error, gimbal IMU data error and more. Drone was flying before replacement so I reinstalled old cable but got the same errors. Would be great if you could help troubleshoot!!
Mini refuses to work without the OG gimbal which is tied Serial number style. Dji has to reprogram it.

Great video bud. One idea for a video. Show just how to remove the camera on this or other DJI drones. Why you may ask. In many countries drone regs are really different if there is no camera. I k ow the camera is the point for many users, but for me I just like flying and also where I live, the regs are like incredible for camera drones, even having to take your own fire extinguisher and have 2 very laborious licenses. Under 2kg without a camera, no regs at all. Thanks bro.

Next question is , did you need software calibration after replacing gimbal cable?
I had a gimbal stuck error after a crash. The gimbal was twitching and shaking in the up/down axis even though it would move freely when I manually moved it. I took my gimbal apart and re-assembled following your video to see if there was some dust or debris in there and now I seem to have no power to gimbal at all and tons of errors. I replaced with a new cable and was extra careful with every connection but it still seems like there is no connectivity to the gimbal any more. 10001 camera error, Vision sensor errors 180016, 180030 and 31 and Gimbal IMU data error 40021 and others.
Have the same issue. Did you find a fix??
Mine doesn’t fly anymore.
I bought a second cable made by PONYRC and it worked out for me. Got rid of all the errors.

@@ahmedwaheed5356 mine video transmission cabel and gimbal was broken, I boughtnew gimbal housing and put old camera, bouht new video transmission cable and changed but have errors 180030, 180031 and 180016. Succesfuly calibrated gimbal trogh python, downgraded software on factory one and nothing changed, even downloaded new software and same problem 😔 Now I think its possible maybe new video transmission cabel is not good

When you open camera cover on the gimbal, you can see there little metal piece with blue "heat paste" on it, it should be touching camera again to transfer the heat out
The gimbals are paired to the mainboards of the drone so they require calibration with special software after replacement. I don’t have the software though sorry.
Thank you for this video! I used it to replace my camera/gimbal assembly. Now I just have to recalibrate and figure out how to fix the Gimbal IMU error (40021).
If you take the camera out of your old gimbal and swap it over that will get rid of the gimbal imu error👍.

I'm thinking of buying a new gimbal, but heard you need to go through a complicated calibration process that deals with downloading and installing a code to the new gimbal. I was wondering, if I use my old camera on the new gimbal will I still have to go through the complicated, calibration process? Your reply will be much appreciated. Thank you. By the way, the drone in question is the Mini 2.

Hey there,
first of all, absolutely fine video! This will help a lot of people maybe me, too.
Actually I have a problem with my gimbal. At the drone-start-routine sometimes it will calibrate itself and sometimes it's don't, than I haven't any control over it. No Gimbal Centering nor auto calibration. I can easily move the gimbal over its axes like there isn't any electricity.
Sometime it calibrates itself but than after a few seconds the gimbal begins to rotate wild fast and than it stucks in the position it stops (everytime in different positions and also without any electricity). Before it starts to rotate I can tilt the gimbal from the controller and I can calibrate it etc.
The camera is always transmitting so I think this could only be a gimbal problem (or mainboard).
So could you tell me where the problem most likely could be?
Sidenote:
Last year I sent the Mavic to the repaircenter cause I crashed it, and got it back. Unfortunately I don't tested it afterwards, first a few days ago and DJI said that they couldn't do anything after this period of time (understandable I think it's over a year ago).

My gimbal is shaking. Making the images appear on the film as if they were waves. But when I turn on the drone, it keeps vibrating, as if it had a motor inside it, and I just turn it on. Not in flight. When it's in flight and it vibrates the most. What would it be? .Could you help me there? I would be grateful if you help me there. Thank you JP do Araguaia, Brazil.

i think i got some dust in the pitch gimbal motor, i followed your video to take all the parts out, but the pitch motor doesn’t seem to come apart, any tips?
If removing the connection from the mother board itself I damaged some of the tiny gold teeth…… would this stop the drone from operating

@@250fpv7 There are no errors if you keep the original camera? I replaced my camera/gimbal and now have a gimbal IMU error (40021). What part holds the 'memory' of when you switch the gimbal and it doesn't match the main board on the drone?
@@Niloc1922 the only part of the gimbal that isn’t paired to the mainboard is the gimbal cables.
My gimbal on my mini too sits un level left to right.
What can I do to remedy or fix?

How do you remove the screw from the Absorber bracket?
One of the 4 arms on mine broke off and got lost so I have to replace it, but that screw is impossible to remove
At 13:15 - 13:20 how do you get the cable to connect to the pad on the board? I fussed with it for a half-hour just getting it through the slot and back to the board, found that I had damaged the little terminals, then did the same with a second cable as well. In your video, it looks like the pads just fell right into place without a hitch.
Did you encounter an error code 40021 ( Gimbal data error ) after replace the wire? Hope you will notice this.
OK, fantastic video. I destroyed my original gimbal in a crash, and got the new one put in with the camera mounted, all good! But unfortunately I'm getting a "Gimbal Motor Overload 40003" error message, and the camera is stuck leaning to one side, and turned to that same side. I've torn it down and rebuilt it three times, checking to make sure I've not twisted or added pressure to the cable in any way, and for it so it responds a bit to a manual calibration, but the automatic calibration fails every time (stuck at 10% progress) and I can never get the camera level and straight... Anyone else experience this?

If we replace the whole gimbal, including the camera, do we need to recalibrate the gimbal and the camera, I mean, is this just, plug and play repair, no issue with software or compatibility, I woudl be able to see the camera on the app, i have a DJI Mini 2 that the gimbal frame brokes, but the camera works fine, not sure if I can replace the whole part shoud I have issues with the app,
I had my gimbal frame brake too on a Mavic Mini. I was able to use epoxy glue to fit it back together (ever so carefully as to not lock up any moving parts) This would not require any calibration. Good luck...
Anyone changed both gimbal cables and still hab a dead gimbal/camera? I don't know what to do next, both cables were replaced, I can connect to the remote and app on the mobile phone, but get errors like 40021, 10016, 10022, 40011, 30007, 30049, 30066, 10001 and 40012 .. I guess there's still something wrong with the gimbal, maybe a burnt motor? Any ideas much appreciated. br Mike

How to separate the gimbal controller board (tiny board where the flat cable is attached) from the frame ?. I am trying to separate only the gimbal mechanical parts to another camera which has a broken frame.

I don’t know where you could buy just the bearing sorry. You could probably measure where it goes though and buy a small bearing with them measurements to replace it though?

anyone...crashed my mini 2. cam still works and the gimble moves when started up no stabilization or vertical movement and it buzzes. obviosly needs replacement but whats the scoop?

Hy, it is possible to remove upper gimbal motor, i have problem on my Mavic Mini, motor on top not moving (gimbal not moving left-right), so i asume thats motor on top is broken, or had something in motor (on app i get "gimbal stuck", sometimes "gimbal motor overload" error 40002)?

Hi @250 Fpv! What is the "C" shape metal part in the side cover of the camera? Is that essential for stabilization? I've crashed my Mini and lost this piece on the ground. And now the gimbal isn't working anymore

Hey @250 fpv could you help identify which of two cables connecting to the camera/gimbal unit is actually controlling gimbal and which one is for camera? Trying to disable and lock gimbal after the crash to fly in fpv mode camera works fine. Thanks.

replacing the camera gimbal and housing on the spark requires special programming outside of the dji assisnt 2 app to calibrate it otherwise it does not work, does the mini require anything special to get it calibrated or does it just work when the gimbal and housing is replaced?
Yeah it requires calibrating too.
Normal fly app calibration or special program calibration like the spark and air 1 require?

I wouldn’t know really sorry it could be a faulty remote or faulty compass or something in the drone. You could maybe try an Imu calibration to see if that helps.

Hi, i have broken 3 of the 4 gimbal legs (legs that fix gimbal on the mavic mini body via rubber parts). It look like that my gimbal is still working, it is still stabilized and i can make it go up and down. Those gimbal legs are on the upper part of the gimbal. Do you think that it is possible to change only this part? Anything could help.
Nicolas Houver it is not possible to change just the legs that come from the gimbal as they are connected to the main gimbal frame so the whole gimbal frame needs to be replaced sorry. The gimbals are also paired to the mainboard so it requires calibration via a laptop etc after so I would recommend just gluing the legs.

I broke my gimbal and ribbon cable. On the gimbal it is only the part that connetcs gimbal to the drone shell and the rest works. What should i do? I tought about buying gimbal frame and put it with my gimbal somehow?
I would buy a new gimbal cable replace that and glue the gimbal frame as the gimbal frames are paired to the mainboard so require special calibration after being replaced. That’s what I was doing in this video.

I can’t sorry it’s because the gimbals/cameras are paired to the mainboard of the drone.
They need special software to be repaired and recalibrated.

250 pv I change the gimbal, but -I get an error that motor it's overheating and it's tilted slightly to the left do you know why? camera works fina a gimbal moves fine. Tried recalibrating and it stays the same

It wouldn’t sorry the gimbal housings are paired to the mainboard of the drone and need recalibrating with special software that I don’t have sorry. Their could just be sand or dust in the gimbal motors if your having gimbal motor overloaded errors with no damage to the gimbal? You might be able to try some compressed air to blow any debris out of the gimbal motors.

@@oliverkhoo no you can replace that without having to do any calibration of the gimbal👍.
sounds like maybe you have dust in your gimbal motors, I’m having the same issue after I flew in a dusty place that I shouldn’t have. i’m trying to clean out my gimbal motors
@@250fpv7 AAaaaaaah.... THIS is what I'm missing! I've disassembled and reassembled the gimbal 7-8 times trying to find out why it's cockeyed... OF COURSE, I need to find some wacky software now!
misleading title.... you didnt disassembled the Gimbal, you just removed it from the drone...
