I love Father Boniface! I had the privilege of meeting him in person, and let me tell you....he carries such a presence of the Lord, you can actually see Gods eyes when your eyes meet his. Such a holy man!
I had the privilege to be at the NEC. The litany of forgiveness that Fr Boniface read really helped me. I read it quite often when I am in a place of despair.
Thank you, Lila! God bless you. Prayed to our Lord Jesus to help us all in the New Year and to help priests like Father Boniface through the intercession of Saint Padre Pio (patron saint of January blues, civil defense volunteers, adolescents, the village of Pietrelcina, and stress relief ) and Saint John Vianney (patron saint of Confessors, Diocesan Priests, and Faithful Parish Priests). Hope you and yours have a light-filled peaceful joyful blessed New Year, and will be praying at Mass tomorrow on January 1st, the Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God; and continuing to pray in my Rosary for you Lila and everyone here! I follow the first commandment so I only worship one God (at least when I'm not sinning, and, unfortunately, turning away from God's love and pridefully making myself my own god)! I believe Jesus Christ is the mediator, and I believe our Blessed Mother Mary can lead us to Him. She prays for us on our way to Him. When I refer to Mary as my mother, please know I am not taking away respect due to my one and only God, Lord Jesus Christ. I believe loving people Jesus loves helps us love Him more, so the more I love Mary, the more I love God, and Jesus gave Mary to us as our mother on the Cross. John 19: 26-27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. Mother Mary, the first Christian with her choice to say "yes" to my one and only God's will, I believe she is the number 1 model for sainthood for both men and women. She did God's will perfectly in every respect from the moment of her conception, listening to every single one of His commands. Her choice to say "yes" Luke 1:38 Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. to God's will ushered in salvation for the world, and she did so knowing the sacrifices and sufferings that would result from her decision, but, humbly, accepted the privilege of containing the God of the Universe her womb, and then becoming Jesus' most intimate friend, companion, and greatest consolation while on Earth. She was the devil's ultimate humiliation! I believe God is the King of the universe, having all power of the universe, but God chose Our Lady, a humble lowly woman the privilege of crushing the head of the devil. Mary is not God, but she is a saint, and being that she is with Jesus in Heaven, I ask for her intercession to our Lord (and for sake of brevity, I'll say I "pray to Mary"), similar to how I'd ask people to pray for me (please do. I'm a broken sinner in need of many prayers), but I trust she is a saint in Heaven so I believe it is helpful to ask for her help, especially being so close to her Son. There is only one God. He is the source of all good. He is Goodness. He is Love! "To love is to will the good of another." -St. Thomas Aquinas 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 John 4:16 We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him. God bless you Lila, your family, Father Boniface, and everyone here! Thank you for being a part of the happiest year of my life!
Technically you can ask chatgpt to respond to your questions or your assertions as if he was a priest, a monk etc. (even as a saint himself like Augustine or Aquinas). I know that because I tried myself and I did it precisely because I did not have a good and orthodox spiritual director. In my opinion most people today do not need a psychologist or a therapist, but rather a spiritual director.
Good morning and Happy New Year's Eve, Lila and everybody! Warm welcome to Father Boniface! Prayed for your family and everyone here in my Rosary for people to have help with good spiritual direction/spiritual friendship and for healing from anyone who lead anyone astray or abused them. John 18:37-38 So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” 2 Timothy 4:1-5 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching. For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths. Romans 12:2 Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. John 14:30-31 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” -Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. John 17: 20-21 '“I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me."
Spiritual oversight outside of a good pastor can be a mine field. Some of the most outwardly "spiritual" people I have met turned out to be very ungodly people behind the scenes who were talking the talk but weren't walking the walk. Growing up in charasmatic circles this is especially true, lots of kooks.
The title of this was clickbait as this was an extremely important show more on the need and benefits of spiritual direction and clarifying what it is. I wish it wasn’t always so ominous in the titles of Catholic topics.
Imo AI can't do spiritual direction! AI doesn't have wisdom, understanding, or knowledge. It is not a mind. It's an imitation of a mind, and it could be imitating a warped perception of reality increasing confusion. Imo, getting accurate information is important for building frameworks ordered towards reality=truth=) A mark of a free nation is one where a single man (or married man or woman!) can sway public opinion. The nail that sticks out may get hammered down, but not with my metaphorical hammer! I'm John Henry, and I believe any individual human heart is greater than any AI machine!

Excellent interview! So informative. For Boniface is such a gift!
God bless you both! Fr. Boniface radiates such joy and peace. I love listening to him!

Thank you for this. ❤ Thank you Lord for beautiful priests like Fr.Boniface.

It is so hard to find spiritual directors nowadays.
Please share the link or info to the course described in minute 50:33; the art of accompaniment
And finding one.. almost impossible 😢
Good video
Is it okay for a spiritual director to charge you $ for their services?

Spiritual Direction is having someone discern the Holy Spirit in someone’s life. Stay away from Opus Dei.

Bells and whistles but no authority.
Very hard to take a priest seriously who is obviously doing vanity.
What is "doing vanity" ?
@Leo-uq6jp Good one

Admiration of one's own appearance or achievements, prideful.
