  • In this video I compare two different deodorizers made by Sweet PDZ company. One is advertised as made for horses and the other is advertised for chicken coops.

Yes I learned this lesson 3 years ago. A lot more for your money with the stall refresher

Good comparison. Had no idea there were other options for coop deodorizers! This will save a lot of money in the future.

Was wondering to myself if I could use horse stall refresher in a coop, perfectly answered that question with this video.
I have also been using the horse stall refresher as a soil amendment in my vegetable gardens for several years now. In reading about it, it seems to also absorb the nutrients from whatever fertilizer is used, then releases those nutrients back into the soil slowly. At the very least it is a very cost effective organic moisture control additive, the ratio used is quite low per cubic foot of soil.

It sounds like you are really using that stuff to your advantage! It does end up in my compost from the poop tray, but never thought of putting it directly in the garden❤️👩‍🌾thank you for your comment!

I will be using this in 7 cat litter boxes. I also will be using the horse stall pine pellets as litter. I have used that before and like it but not the deodorizer so I hope it will help with cat box smells!! Thanks for this review as far as a comparison!

Reminds me of children's tylenol vs infant. They are using the "coop" as a marketing ploy. They know people with chickens are going to buy whatever they put out there.

Very true! They also have something now called Allegra Hives. It is still just Fexofenadine😊nothing added, but people are convinced it works better! They you for your comment. You are spot on!

Its made from a natural mineral called zeolite and it works really well for my goat barn. I wish we had a tractor supply closer to where I live in Eastern Idaho because the local farm store here charges $26 a bag.

Yes, the price has gone up, but thankfully it is still cheaper than Chicken coop refresher:). Thank you for watching!

Would this be safe for chicks brooder box also? They are a week old.

I did use this in my brooder box, especially when they started pooping A LOT and seemed to work well. It can be used in bird cages, and another small animal cages, etc. I have never had an issues with it. Happy chicken raising and thank you for watching:)

    This the same for Ducks?

    • @tanakahomestead8820
      @tanakahomestead8820  Год назад +1

That is a very good question. On their site they specifically say "It is 100% safe to breathe, handle, and recycle." As far as ducks go, it also says "they recommend Sweet PDZ for creatures big and small, indoor or outdoor, exotic pets and livestock, from aardvarks to zebras and all critters in between." I have had no issues with my chickens and I am sure they had to have eaten some of it, because they will rip the newspaper sometimes. I would imagine it would be the same for ducks. Thank you for your question:)

Can a duck breathe in those little granules or eat them by accident?

I can't speak on behalf of ducks, but my chickens have never had any issues:)

Thank you for this video! I just bought coop refresher because I wasn't sure about horse refresher being safe for the chickens.
I'll definitely be switching to horse stall refresher in the future.
