    I loved the old hockenheim track. Much better than what we have now.

      Old Hockenheim was a real man's track. Today's Hockenheim is a track for children!

      I don't mind the new layout. It's easier to marshal and the straights on the old layout felt so narrow.

      The new track is not bad, but i wish they would have fought to keep the old layout as well and use both for races like they do with the Nürburgring GP/Nordschleife.

    Personally, I think if you were expand the list to 11 (and lets face it, cool things go to 11), I would add Darlington Raceway in South Carolina, USA. Because a landowner did not wish to disturb his minnow pond, what was originally envisioned as a symmetrical oval was altered into something resembling an egg or a cam lobe with one end tighter and more steeply banked than the other. The 1.366 mile (2.2 km) oval has been a challenge for stock car racers ever since and has a reputation as difficult to drive, particularly as the fastest way around is by the outside wall instead of inside by the apron. It's a strange old track and it always puts on a great show. Plus its nickname is "The Lady In Black", given by the late Dale Earnhardt, and that's just freaking cool by me.

      @DDS029 6 лет назад +2

      Funny that it was one of the few tracks Kyle Petty had some success at, but still would rather it stayed a fishing pond.
      If you watch video from the first race, the cars are scattered all over the turns. The intention was that the flat part to be the track, and the banking a "safety run off" area. Until someone figured out you could absolutely fly around the track up there. That's why it was only one lane wide.
      First race was a "tortoise and hare" race. All the guys with their big powerful cars were eating up tires left and right. They were taking them off street cars. All except Johnny Mantz, driving a smaller, lighter, 6cyl. Plymouth. Almost the slowest car on the track, but he was the winner. The one thing I forgot to add to the description of his car? Truck tires. Big old 6-ply truck tires.
      He never pitted . . . 🐢🏁🐇👏

    An honorable mention would have to be North Wilkesboro Speedway. They had a small amount of money to spend on construction. The finishing result was a unlevel track. The front straight went up hill and the back straight went down hill. It closed down do to corruption in 1996. The land owners still take care of it though.

    The oroginal 10 Km (4500 m the Anello ad alta velocità and 5500 m the Pista stradale) circuit in Monza, or better Vedano al Lambro since the actual entrance is there, was built in 1922, not in 1955.

    Please dont be mad at me, but these videos are plain boring! I could watch this duricng a meditation of course, or even on a toilet while having some bowel troubles (and no, not because of your quality, that is high, but because of the content). more facts, more audible voices instead of loud osundtracks and most importantly show us the layout on a map to see how it looked before. Or what we could do to the track today, if it remains abandoned.

      Don't worry, I don't get mad at you. I want to thank you for your constructive criticism. At the moment I'm thinking about how to improve my videos to make the next step in growing my channel. I have a very cool reportage in mind that will fulfill your wishes.
      About the maps: I got many questions for maps in my videos. So I implanted maps. On my new onboard and track walk videos I have one all the time with indicator. In this video I have a map at the begin of every new circuit, together with the facts. What would you like to see different regarding the maps?
