Pure Love Series Pt. 2 | Full Sermon | My Home Church PH

There are different types of love that we encounter in this world. Love fills us with comfort and security but unfortunately, everything in this world is inconsistent and temporary. But the GOOD NEWS is, we have Someone willing to pour all His love unto us.
God's love for us (Agape) is the purest form of love, unlike in the world, His pure love for us is eternal and consistent. It fills us with the fullness of Him and surpasses all worldly knowledge! And we cannot deny, we need this kind of love in this world full of uncertainties.
Why do we love in the first place? We loved because He first loved us. As it says in 1 John 4:10 "My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love-so you can’t know him if you don’t love.
This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about-not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God." So you see, because of His fulfilling love we can reach out to others, and we can accept and forgive others just like what God did to us. God wants you to forgive, it is time for you to humble yourself, and release the bitterness and forgiveness because when you begin to know God, you cannot help but love and take care of His people.
God's pure love (Agape) reminds us that He has your best interest at heart, it might be about your emotion, your future, or about your plans, or anything that affects your heart, It matters to God because you are important to Him. In Ephesians 1:4, it was stated that "just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." Even before creation and before the foundation of the Earth, God already chose (eklego; means highly, deliberate, choice) you to be in His Agape love. God's love is steady and pure, and it is not a subject of time.
The second reminder is God loves you so much that He will never do anything to hurt you, pure love has no negative consequences, and what you will receive in return is purely positive. The third reminder is God is too powerful not to be able to do nothing with your life. Lastly, God is too wise to ever make a mistake when you trust/surrender to Him, the moment you surrender everything to God, your plans will be blessed!
There are four fundamentals truth of pure love as Pastor James Conato mentioned.
First, it is all about His love and your divine identity, God wants you to understand that you are not common to this world and you are special. God wants you to remember your identity as a child of God, you are holy in love, and He wants you to increase and abound in love. Love is fully expressed when you know your origin when you know your identity in the Lord through the power of the Holy Word and Spirit.
Second, He chose us in Him (His Choice, His Will), God's will for you is to be one with His Son, Jesus Christ. The only place you are safe is in Christ, the only humble response that you can put to action whenever you have a problem is to go to church and surrender it to God.
Third, He chose us before the foundation of the world.
And lastly, we should be Holy without blame, God's pure love wants to impart holiness because you are special to God.
Take care of your mental life as it says in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things." Set your mind on things that are above, and give time to take care of your imagination. God wants you to renew your mind by hearing the His word. Prepare your mind for action because there is a spiritual battle, it says in 1 Peter 1:13 "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;". Therefore, God is saying that your taking care of your mind is as important as taking care of your heart.
In Luke 21:34, “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap."
Be careful with your heart for it is precious to the Lord. Have wisdom, be wise in doing such things, and make sure that it does not affect you. God is concerned about you because He loves you and will always will.
