    Left the bands and music 17 years ago, got married had kids and stopped playing all together. Now as a single parent of three I pulled the guitars out to try and find that love again. Dude I never comment but I felt compelled to for your channel. The way you advocate connecting the dots and musicality is brilliant and inspiring. I wish I had run into someone like you 35 years ago it would have saved a lot of frustration lol. Keep doing what you’re doing it’s infectious and a gift!

    I've been playing for 3 months. I've got open chords down major barre chords under my fingers but I continue to struggle how to connect it all. This video helped so much I really appreciate you taking time to do this!

      That's awesome! Yes, just simplify it to the triads when you can. I know how hard bar chords are. For some reason they like to show all of us bar chords from the beginning, but they are not easy. Keep going. You are going to love the journey of guitar.

    My guitar teachers also did not teach me triads and that left the guitar itself a mystery to me.
    I discovered triads on my own and BOOM the fog was lifted and I began to learn all the notes on the fretboard with ease.
    Ty so much for focusing on triads!

      @fionnmcnessa hey bud, there’s a link in the description to my dropbox where you should be able to download them. then the triad sets are on the DG and B strings for this particular lesson. Let me know if that makes sense. And let me know if you have any trouble getting them.

    Jellyfish. ...Again, I'm new at all this. I can't tell what you're doing with the right hand... It kind of looks like you're hitting E and D and strumming the three high strings (G, B, e) with the back of your fingers. But I'm not sure of the count... Thumb (base); thumb (alternate string) then I, M, R on the triad? or is it thumb, too? It sounds like two thumbs and then four notes, but I can't tell if one is the thumb or if you are coming back down from ring to middle or ring to index or what??? I think it's called arpeggiating (3, 2, 1, 2)?

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, I know it's a lot. I think I will try and make another video with some tablature that breaks down what I am doing with my right hand.
      When I play the full bar chord...I hit the low E with my thumb and kind of flick or strum the rest of the chord. When I switch to the triad...I play the D string with my thumb since it is the root note of the triad. Then I play the G and B strings with my fingers. Those are the other 2 notes that make up the triad.
      I think I am going to need to do a video just on the strumming technique to help you put it all together. Kind of a lot of little separate techniques going on. It's all a cummulative proccess. Keep going. More to come soon.
