Thank you good sir. Yes, I'm sitting here thinking about how much there is to learn and it's just bottomless. Gotta put the pieces together over time really slow. Think I am going to do a livestream this coming Tuesday, so stay tuned. Even if you can't come, watch it in post. I'm going to do something on this very idea. Keep going. :)
Another great video. Learning theory is a journey. It may feel like you’re wasting your time when it makes no sense. I used to think I’d never understand theory. But over the years, it starts to sink in and now I understand it well.
My new guitar started me off learning triads and then I found your channel. I'm happy to report that I am starting to understand how this stuff is linked together. My teacher is going to be really impressed on our next lesson. Thank you so much. #Jellyfish!
That's so awesome to hear and super stoked to have you. Keep going and keep learning those triads. Pretty soon you will be connecting the dots on everything and going to next level so much faster. :)
Thanks Harry you’re triads have come in handy I’m hearing other songs in my head when I’m playing them I kinda figured the arpeggio intro to zephyr song by chilli peppers just by ear so all this is helping hear the chord tones thanks mate much appreciated Jellyfish
Jellyfish! Repetition is key to muscle memory... I hate to sound "too" picky, but can you try to keep both hands (and the full neck) on screen. Another great lesson!
Jellyfish, I will use myself as an example. I know all the pentatonic shapes for major and minor all over the fretboard. I know the triads shapes for all the string sets. My rhythm playing is really good but trying to solo between chords or improvise I still haven’t got to master to get to the next note fast enough so it sounds good. Any suggestions to improve on that? Also really like your lessons.
Thanks for the kind words. That's great you have so much fretboard knowledge. That is a great question. Let me think about it for a bit. So are you talking about phrasing or the notes you land on? I know that soloing is such a subjective art form. Maybe just try soloing over the chord changes and targeting the notes in those chords. See how creative you can get with that. I tend to kind of use everything you mentioned, but it really depends where I am on the neck. I know it just takes practice, but the fact you are such a strong rhythm player is pretty huge. One quick idea you can try is throwing in octaves in between phrases. They always sound great and are a great segway into more melodic styles of playing. I know there is just so much to learn. lol I will see what I can come up with, but that sounds like a great video topic for sure. Keep going and I will hit you back soon.
Would love to have you on newsletter crew. You read right? ha. Thank you. harrys-newsletter-2b7134.beehiiv.com/
Jellyfish! I really appreciate the fact that you emphasize connecting the dots and consistency. Every little baby step gets me closer to running.

Excellent lessons. But how are you holding A minor triad. Are you still holding bar for 3rd and 5th notes?
Thank you. That’s exactly how I’m holding the Am triad . You got it. 😎
