Dear Andrew and the people from videocopilot! Thank you all for making these cool tutorials! I just watched all of the Man of Steel trailers and tv spots and was wondering how they made those cool looking shots. Example: Man of Steel - TV Spot 5, this last shot (0:26) Looks just like a particle system. The movie has some awesome shots in it and I am hoping you could consider making a tutorial about one of those shots.
Rockstar Games, the famous game developer company had already done that thing (8:25) in one of the most famous game titles Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002.
Hi Bruno. I am not affiliated with Video Copilot, but I use the forums often enough to know they are great at answering questions like these. Head over to Video Copilot's Forums (I couldn't put the link here, sorry). Their Support Services is excellent too. I suggest searching the Forums first and if you don't hear anything then send Support a ticket to help you out. They are fast to respond and very helpful.
Andrew Kramar is a cool guy =) Currently I'm not working with adobe products, but my carrier started from video editing in 2005 =) Now I'm a programmer.
Hi, i really enjoyed this tutorial. please do you have a tutorial for inserting real life person as the driver?. how can i do that. really will appreciate your response
One more question... I would like to know what kind of machine I will need to have in order to run this program as smoothly as in this tutorial. Can someone from Video Copilot tell me what kind of specs I will need?
5:30 that whole thing with specular and reflectivity mapping, can this be done in AE without 3rd party extensions? I just watched a (wayyyy old) video copilot video where he uses window reflections and everything is manual, but just curious if things have changed for modern AE software.
I have the same problem too... I don't know if my COmputer is to bad or if element can't handle scenes with a lot of polys. Sorry for my English, I am from Switzerland :) Andrew Kramer, Go on!
hello friend greetings from Brazil Your class is incredible but in my case it didn't help because going to preferences there is no option to activate the obj and in my case I want to export from blender with texture and take it to the 3D element. HOW? If you or anyone can help I would really appreciate it
Danizzle Studios, that's not all that ZakhepGames is asking about, He's wondering the same thing that I am wondering, and that is why on EARTH didn't Andrew explain how he is able to get the 3D headlights of this rigged vehicle to emit, actual light!? You can see the light refracting off of the ground in front of the car as well! It''s really, VERY frustrating that he never explains how to do that!
This a bit old, but for the benefit of others: the easiest way is to create two element nulls on the lights, create two normal after effect lights probably spots, position the lights and parent to the nulls.
Hi. I have a problem with the four views in after effects to use the 3D element. They are all in the same view, but they should be in different views. It only happens with the Element 3D. What I can do? Thank you
Dear Video Copilot, or anyone watching this, I have some questions. ...Soooo compared to Cinema 4D lite that comes with After Effects, how does Element 3D compare? The reason I ask is because it seriously seems like this program is WAAAAAY, way better then Cinema 4D Lite, in regards to it's capabilities especially concerning modeling and effects! I REALLY want to get this program soon, but I just want to know if I would be basically purchasing Cinema 4D Lite, again or if it would be a far-more capable and advanced program. Thanks!
Thank you Gabriel Chetty. Can you tell me, in your own personal opinion, which program you would go with as far a AE plugins, go? Cinema 4D Lite or Element?
doubt ill get a response but here it goes: I followed the directions from the website about adding the .mtl file with the obj. file to the models folder but when i select the object the textures don't show up. not even a red missing error in the texture panels. am I doing something wrong?
Hi andrew. I was trying to rotate a 3 leaf fan. However when I try to rotate with multi object, it rotates like wobbling. Its not rotating in its axis. Please provide a solution. Thank you
Hey Andrew, can you make a a updated ( even if it is just a shot video) gun muzzle flare / shell tutorial and how to effectively sync sound fx to a scence?
Im trying for three days now to make some propellors be able to rotate in element 3D. So I speretaed all parts of the engines and linked them together in Blender. They seem to be one single object in Blender as I want it but when imported into Element 3D and begin to rotate them like you do in the video, all pieces begin to separate again. Can anyone help me?
if I am loading my car model into E3D, the car model is one big piece but in C4D it wasn't. I splitted it up in 4 pieces. How can I import my model like I want to?
how your element 3d layout and naming is changed a bit, please make one more video of same type (rigging) but on a helicopter or etc... hope you make one
I am facing problems to follow the steps of the tutorial in the 3Ds Max part. When I export the car object to Ae - Element 3D appears more parts than it used to. I mean, it should appear only the four wheels, the car's windows and the car's body. What can I do to solve this problem? Help me, please.
You are king of after effect tutorials. :D
Quads are best for modelling in dedicated 3D program. E3D uses OpenGl which only supports triangles so basically every quad is turned into 2 triangle.
The film My Cousin Vinny has taught me everything I know about cars.
Andrew.... U make AE powerfull... Adobe should give an award for you.
