I find it frustrating that guys like Andrew Kramer who have raw skill and talent just don't get the appreciation they deserve. The guy makes everything seem so effortless.
What's that got to do with the price of eggs? I'm not talking about his involvement in projects, because we've all seen his work especially in Star Trek etc. I'm talking purely his amount of subscribers to his channel. Look at Andrews talent level and compare that to the nonsense of pewdiepie and his fan base. It just seems like such an injustice that he hasn't got like ten times the amount of subs he currently has.
***** Of course. I'm simply stating that Andrew has a LOT of talent. Pewdiepie earns millions and has a huge fanbase from basically dumb shit. That's life.
+The Aesalon I agree. The fact that Pewdiepie is the most popular youtuber speaks volumes about the sad state of the world. A creative genius like Andrew deserves all that and more.
Came back here from olddd dqys … I miss you Andrew , we all do man, your tutorials were a light in my learning back then, but now I’m on unreal engine and can tell you, you were years ahead with that element3D, I hope you are happy now and living good life
Actually I just wanted to check the first minutes of this tutorial to see what kind of technique you are going to use for it, but in the end it was just way too fascinating and I watched it all the way to the end :D I think most of the things I already knew how to theoretically do it, but I just never tried to execute them this way. So overall it was really helpful for me, not really regarding to create a city destruction but rather to further understand the techniques given in After Effects. For example the Alt + Drag files onto your 3D layer to set the picture in the exact same place was new for me and I'm definitely gonna use it, as well as the 3D precomp transform fit switcher. You really do the best tutorials I've ever seen. Each of them is really creative and helpful and covers a lot of stuff which is really really cool when you can combine things together into one project. Keep up doing your great stuff, I love it!
I don't know if you're reading our comments, it's a video from 2015 but Andrew, you're a HERO, a lot of people can't notice it, but bro, what you're making, what you're sharing with us, your tutorials are like oxygen for the graphism's world, you're sharing your knoweldge and your skills freely, and that means a lot for us, and especially for me, i love this graphism world, but i'm in the bad side of the earth, Africa.. and here, if you're not a self-educated, you're done and you can't live from your passion, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH, and i hope you'll never stop making this beautiful tutorial, you're my mentor ! if i had money, i'd pay to get courses from you.
Im Litreally watching it in 2022, and nothing is change in the channel!! This channel've been the best VFX 'n' GFX Tutorials channel I've ever found on the Social Media!!
Oh how I've missed the big and awesome VFX tutorials from Video Copilot! Seems like everything is mostly motion graphics or Element 3D that has been tutorials recently. We know you're super busy now that you're super successful, but we sure missed these kind of tutorials! Great stuff!
I don't know how to start this comment, but i just wanna explain how awesome you guys are! Like I'm always afraid of the length of your videos, but it's more because you explain it so good and show so many details on how to create things or how to use some kind of tools. It's really really really worth that time
This tutorial is very important to us filmmakers in a huge way. This will help me a lot when creating short films. Awesome, Andrew. Thank you very much!
Wow Andrew, you are a real genius. I don't know how you come up with all these ideas, I already find it difficult to do the exact same thing as shown in the tutorial. I can imagine coming up with this stuff is pretty hard!
Thank you so much for making these wonderful tutorials. Not only have your tutorials become more sophisticated over the years, but your detailed instruction has become more sophisticated, without sacrificing the work flow. I'm learning at a fast rate without becoming overwhelmed by complexity, as a complete beginner to Ae, I can easily follow along.
A small idea about what you'v done in 27:30 : I think it would be easier to make the solids big and then put a musk around them that will feat the building's size
I totally thought this was only possible using things like 3ds max and c4d, its actually a basic effect when broken down like this but when you watch it in the trailer/finished product i was like no chance hes doing this all in AE! Great work Andrew!!
Andrew you are the best teacher, I would love to have you for a teacher... I've learned so much more, I'm artist and I always wanted to learn this because I want to create action, sci-fi , and heroes... I'm a big fan of yours and would love to work with you on some projects... I am still trying to get on my feet right now but I have some ideas. . Thanks for the tutorial, you rock man!
Men i folow you from many many years, and i just want to said that i love you (like a post producer can loved a incredible proffetional like you). You help me a lot on my working life, and make me lough a lot with your comments... Keep going forward!!!
My fav series starts with this great, amazing & outstanding intro... *Hey, what's up it's Andrew Kramer from video Co-pilot-DOTNET and we're back with another exiting tutorial.*
Honestly VideoCopilot is like the best ever VFX company or market whatever you want to call it. Them and ProductionCrate are my absolute favorite, you can get anything that you need or want
Whoa!!! Planned on watching a minute or two....ended up watching the whole thing. Nice tutorial. I don't even have After Effects. Using Hitfilm Ultimate 2. Anyway, you're a genius. Khan Academy of vfx tutorials.
this is amazing. I mean it is the best tutorials i have come across, really, and also i like how you add the little mario's coin tossing sound when you say "we're learning stuff" lmao xD
i actually got from this video that after effects works best and really fast with images and videos and you showed that its actually possible to create deep end vfx scenes inside of after effects awsome man!
Video Copilot Cool beans as usual Andrew! Love the detail added by the extra depth and parallax in that foreground building's wound hole. Off topic: In E3D, is there a version of the 747 without the aerial refueling hump on the nose? Can it be turned off as a layer so it looks civilian? Thanks!
Hy Andrew. I needed exactly that tutorial, but instead of that blue laser beam, I need a red one.(Red is more evil) Could you do another tutorial to show us how that would work ;)
Can you do a tutorial on how to create shock waves that can be tracked in 3D space using trapcode form or particular? If it could be done without plugins, even better! Thanks =D
CAAArRrrRRLLL just do a similar thing here. Download shockwave footage, and track camera, create some solids and replace solid with shockwave. Video Colpilot have a tutorial for shockwaves, aswell as a paid pack on their site. It shouldn’t be too hard
Tell me if I wrong, but the matte for the front building might be done with just one single solid. You simply takes three points on the roof, creates a solid, then move its anchor point to the side and then rotate 90 degrees like its back wall. Camera movement is allow us to do that. Sorry for my english. Best wishes from Russia :)
Andrew you fucking legend! no one will ever teach these valuable stuffs for free :) I've learnt priceless stuffs from you.You sir are an inspiration! Long live Lord Kramer! May the force be with you. :)
Thank you very much for this video. with your instruction it was very easy to learn. But i had one problem. When i started to animate the new building with a solid, the tracking points of the front-building was displaced to the left. (?) it seems a problem with the 3d-tracker-camera, cause with new solid it is creating a new 3d-tracker-camera
Hey ,I didn't found a solution but what i did was a created one solid at teh first time while creating the camera, and all i did was duplicated that solid each time i added a layer, this way i didn't had the need to add a camera.Although this a long way but the problem of creting a new camera is now over with this
35:00 Yes. I really piss off when people ask something similar to what the tutorial just show. By the way, could you show me show to add some graffiti on those building instead of destruction?
I don't understand how the smoke layer at 19:27 tracks with the null because he didn't link it to the null layer. Does applying the null position do that automatically?
The Online Etymology Dictionary is a go to for learning about word history. Construct, destruct and obstruct all share the root derived from Latin as a suffix … Yeah … probably gonna have to do a tutorial on creating a mind blown effect now. Preferably with a blue thing.
(2024) Does anyone know why Andrew disappeared from RUclips and doesn't record tutorials like he used to? What happened to him? These lessons helped me so much, and I feel extremely sad about this.
I got halfway through this and all of a sudden my tracking data is just gone. I didn't mess with that layer at all, but when I got to the section where you are adding a hole to the large black building in the background, I clicked on my data to start adding planes and my points are all gone :( Talk about a freaking buzz kill.
I find it frustrating that guys like Andrew Kramer who have raw skill and talent just don't get the appreciation they deserve. The guy makes everything seem so effortless.
Doesn't get the appreciation? The dude contracts out to Bad Robot! I think he's wrapping/ed up work on The Force Awakens this very minute. :)
The only problem is where we can get textures that work best with different city structures?
