I watched dozens of videos here, but everyone quickly went through the menus and didn't understand anything...but from you I understood everything I needed! You explain perfectly and with ease! Thank you very much !
I love my R6, the best Canon I ever had, I owned a few of the the Rebel, 5D, 6D and 1D-series cameras but this is the best, especially at high Iso and the AF is amazing as well.
I started saving up for this camera about 2 weeks ago after watching a slew of videos, yours included. I'm so sold on it I'm learning how to set it up before I even buy it :). Thanks for these videos! You are so great for straightforward practical advice.
I always recommend people to read user's manual, it provides very usefull info about everything: specs, limitation, correct working flows, custom settings etc.
Thank you for making this video. For the initial setup I prefer following along with you to referencing the manual I downloaded. Your effort is appreciated.
I'm about to do a similar video for the EOS R5. One thing that really would help is if Canon would allow us to save configurations so you can pull them up later. When I got my second EOS R5 it would have been so much easier to clone settings from one camera to the other. I know this ability exists with the Canon 1D series bodies and with as customizable as the new R-series bodies are in I really hope Canon makes this 'cloning' feature available, I've been asking for it since the 5D Mk4.
Nice insight into how a wedding photographer would have their camera set. 14:25 surprised you enabled Continuous AF since you go on to mention choosing certain settings to save battery life. Enabling that setting makes the AF constantly hunt even when you aren't doing anything.
You can turn off continual AF and set the AF to back button (AF-ON) autofocus. That's what I do and always use continuous AF. Once I've locked AF for a still subject, I just release the button
Just a heads up. There is a current issue with IBIS and the fully mechanical shutter (only) where shots have vertical blurring at a shutter speed of 1/100. Canon have acknowledged this and will release a fix in a firmware update. For now it is best to use electronic first curtain until fixed. I also use the AWB-W (white) setting to give more colour consistency over a set of images.
@@VanessaJoy morning Venessa ! What did you think about the C1-C3 ? I love that I could set it up for still portraits, moving portraits, and my typical flash set up. Good Afternoon! I just bought my first camera as a hobby and it happens to be an R6. Because I also do videos I was really interested to know more about digital stabilization mode. At minute 09:09 you showed your screen and in my camera that menu just has the first line "IS Mode" do you know why? I was following your video with my camera on hand at Manual picture mode on the main dial.
Since the world is slowly opening back up, I think I'll just have to get this camera on credit and make sure I do at least 2 shoots a month! I love my 80D but I need an upgrade 😔 And a new lens ☝🏿

Great video, thanks. I do have a question. I noticed that at 9:11, your screen showed 4 choices under IS mode. Mine only shows one which is the Digital IS (I set this as Off). Why is that? Thanks for your help.
I have a new R6 and today I am setting up the menu. I have the same thing displayed as you say here @Peter. In the manual page 238 it says "[IS Mode and [Still photo IS] are not displayed when an IS-equipped lens is attached". Hope this helps. Oh and I have the RF 35mm f1.8 Macro IS STM attached.
I just got an R6 with firmware v1.2.0, and if I remove the lens and EF adapter from the camera, then switch the camer a on and go into the menu system, the options will appear.Maybe a bug? Maybe those options intentionally show up with some lenses and not others? I don't know, but I now see the "hand" in the lower left corner of the viewfinder, so I assume it's working.

The R6 uses both the processor and algorithms from the pro-sports 1D X Mark III body, and Canon say the tracking may be even better. The camera also provides the same AF configuration settings, which lets you select a 'Case' that describes the movement of your subject. These include an 'Auto' case that it supposed to adapt to the subject you're shooting as it detects its movement.
if you get lenses that are EF lenses (they'll say that in the beginning of the lens name), then yes you need an adapter that costs $99. However, they have a great starting lineup of RF lenses (where you don't need an adaptor) and they're always making more (just announcement three more yesterday).
I have an R6 a short time and doing tests, photo and video, when it reaches 1" or less appears the message Busy, the memories are of good capacity, the ISO settings off, I did the test in 7D II and does not appear the message, it may be some wrong configuration.

Why do you call it official?
because it's my official one :-)
Quickie?😂
hehe
I love your lips
14:28 continuous AF means your camera is ALWAYS trying to acquire focus (even when it’s pointed at the ceiling or the floor) and will drain your battery.
Yes it will, but if you’re a wedding
Photographer you know that you never stop shooting and focusing, all day long. So there’s barely a battery difference at all and it’s worth having your camera be prepared without “waking up the focus”
