If You Don't Eliminate This Habit, You Will Never Grow

- For many years I had a problem that I did not even know about.
It hampered me in countless situations.
It cropped up often enough to derail any progress that I made.
And now that I know about it, I see it in nearly everyone around me.
Most people that I meet do this: friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.
I had not thought about it much, until relatively recently.
But if you eliminate this habit, you can crack the code of consistency. You will be able to move forward in ways that you cannot even dream of now.
If you learn this, you will be unstoppable.

how?
Absolutely, I've noticed this particularly in sports like football where teams tend to lose just focus after scoring a goal and ultimately concede a goal shortly after.
@@aali7814 A classic example of this is when Liverpool almost won the league
@@_____._..--_ The funny part is, that after 100 years, another smart ass, tried to do it again.
Summary: Don't celebrate too early...or you'll end up in the "celebrated too early compilation".
That was a good one..
Thanks your saved me all the unnecesary things
Thanks for saving me 5min
Like many 'self-help' videos, this one is only useful for a particular type of person. There are also other people who are too hard working and regularly get burn-outs, who would actually need to hear the opposite message: "Celebrate the minor victories on the way, so you can stay engaged and not stay up all night working on something you cannot finish today." Like many things, it is a balance, which in this video is called 'consistency'.
Very perceptive. Balance is everything.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. I know a guy who overworks himself for his goal to the point where he's burnt out. It doesn't help that he has problems sleeping. I have to constantly remind him that it's okay to actually enjoy yourself from time to time, otherwise you'll burn out.
I wasn't saying he was saying you have to stay up all night. I'm just saying that the advice he is giving does not apply to everyone. There is a particular type of person, let's call them work-a-holics, on which this advice would have a negative effect. It would reinforce their toxic "always work, never celebrate" mentality. As such, I was critiquing the "one advice cures all" mentality which is portrayed in this and many other self-help videos/book. That is not to say the advice given is unhelpful, its actually quite good and would apply to lots of people. You just have to figure out whether the advice applies to you. To be fair, there are far worse cases of "one answer"-videos out there.
Couldn`t have said it better myself, seriously i tried; this is better.
You brought up a good point. I basically thought the same as I watched the video. It seems to me that people tend to be attracted to videos and material that reinforce what they want to do- workaholics to "push harder" videos and those who want to celebrate all the time to videos that encourage them to over-celebrate very small steps, or goals that are less than what they could achieve.
Still, everyone is different and I have no problem with the fact that lots of people do not feel compelled to seek out professional leadership or fame. Hard and honest work and loving relationships represent an admirable life for most people even if they never reach any sort of a "top".
Some ppl have the opposite problem. They never celebrate. Thus they never feel accomplished. You need that feeling as well. Else you wouldn't have any positive feedback in that loop
madtrini This is me. No matter what I did in life, it was never good enough. It doesn't matter whether it was actually completing a task I set out to do or a major step in the way since it all feels the same: Utterly worthless.
There's no point in anyway if nothing matters.

”If you don’t eliminate this habit, you will never grow”
It’s thanking the busdriver
The milestone is not the goal.
But couldn't you do both? I don't think you'd have to completely stop celebrating your small achievements, in order to get done what you have to get done. Personally, i find that celebrating my smaller achievements keeps me motivated to keep on working.
Become an ant and you reach your destination. As they never get into distraction as they focus on their destination and follow one another.

This is what happened to me after I graduated from college five years ago. I kept with my cushy, safe job rather than focus on securing a more advanced position. I've pissed away those five years.
Im happy for you that you realized this only 5 years in. You did not piss away 5 years, it ONLY took you 5 years to learn a lesson. You should check out this book: Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
Mike D. Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I'll certainly check it out.
Wow.
I have been doing this without ever realizing it.
Thank you so much for this video. You are truly making a positive change in the world.
Good video. I've just watched a few of your videos and now I'm a subscriber. 10K followers. I see the beginnings of several hundred thousand followers, if not 1M like Improvement Pill. Good Luck Dude!
I think people are too focused on progress, or at least their goals are misguided. For so many people progress means more money, while I argue that progress should be marked by internal (emotional, intellectual) growth. In which case, the ability to pause and enjoy a well earned victory is worth more than forcing oneself to steamroll through. After all, one goal always follows another, and if we mark our success by always making progress, we never stop working and that's unhealthy.
Yeah i argee. Life is short so... celebrate victories, and use it as motivation for future goals
This is great. Thank you
Wonderful stuff mate! Found your page today, and the content you have created is inspiring. This video was particularly appropriate for a situatiton I've just gone through, and it's inspiring to see others have experienced this too. Thanks for sharing ✌
I love it. Great points, great video, thank you.
Good, realistic stuff here! First video I've seen from this channel and I'm intrigued to see the rest.

I guess this video is made for me!! I have same problem glad i click your video!! I celebrate with small success and dont have consistency on my work!! This is like boost to me, cause i have to rethink my habit and i have to have consistency!! Thank you for amazing content!!
I needed this so much right now, thank you..
This has been keeping me on a cycle just beyond my goals!!!
Even seeing this video and you telling me the key to success i still have trouble understanding this mindset not because you explained it badly but because it is new to me and thats good
“A spartan warrior won the modern day equivalent of the olympics...” so he won the olympics?
Wow! This is total truth. Thank you.
Just be careful to not take this rule too far. Then you'll never be pleased, and always miserable, and misery is a big drain on willpower and motivation
Be like the kid, but be smart.
Be happy that you did those four pullups, but immediately set yourself up to do better!
Great advice, thanks
Thank you for the video. I’ve done this too many times.
Thanks for the wisdom ill keep this in mind
Oh gosh thank you for this. I'm on a turning point right and this helped a lot
Very thorough
great video! keep up that kind of content :)
This was great!
I'm realizing now that I very often fall into this trap. Thank you for this. It's so logical but I never thought of it.
This Channel has Videos that are so dence with Knowledge and Information
What program are you using to animate your videos?

Thank you for this
Coined from a similar mindset of success not being a destination but a journey. If you see it as a destination, then you've reached where you were headed and tend to stall. Seeing it as journey, well, the journey never ends and you keep on as a wayfarer to success.
Wow! Spot on!
Good one!
Great advice.....

Good point!
I have a similar story, I bought something for myself that was a little out of my price range because I already made a deal with someone to sell some stuff, so my purchase was paid for. Except that he flaked on me at the last minute. Now I'm in the hole. Fortunately it's not that big a deal and I can earn the money back quickly, but lesson learned.
I will say, I think it's good to "celebrate" at milestones, but it does depend on your definition of "celebrate". To "celebrate" can mean a lot of things. Of course, if your celebration for reaching your goal weight is to eat a brownie sundae, then that's probably not wise. And of course, if the celebration makes you "lower your guard", so to speak, as demonstrated in this video.
If you let yourself get distracted from your goal, you won't stay on the path. Celebrating milestones wisely CAN actually encourage staying on the path, as it allows you to enjoy your journey (it's really important to appreciate everything in life) and get a taste of what the end achievement is like. Of course, it can also distract you. The key here, I think, is to have the right mindset ABOUT celebration, rather than deciding whether or not you should celebrate.
So I'd say, personally, that celebrating milestones is fine, as long as you have a healthy mindset about it. Celebration should be considered a tactic to encourage staying on the path, and not simply celebrating because you're excited. Getting excited is good! And it seems to get harder as you get older! But be wise and mindful about celebration.
BTW that pic at 1:06 had me laughing hard, I mean seriously show that to someone who doesn't know what the video is about. XD
When I celebrated my minute accomplishment, I was easily disappointed when the next stress or hardship occurred. As if I did not deserve it. I forget it is a endless war I am fighting. It is pointless to celebrate over a battle until victory is obtained. Thank you for your insight.
Hey bro thanks for the words I have to years to prepare myself for the army After I’m done with university I’ll keep at it
It's a nice video but by this logic you can't ever celebrate because ultimately your goals aren't fully achieved until you kick the bucket.
Alot of his videos have faulty logic to be more interesting and engaging.
Mmmm, I agree completely. I will now use this advice from now on because I realized it's something I did a lot so thank you for this information! Buddha Amitabha♥️♥️
I wanted to use that advice years ago but due to some previous "situations" I feel if you quite now you lose all you gained. so its a hard to figure out which route to take. I I go the butterfly effect it then I leave here permanently and find a new job and home
Don’t celebrate too early. Focus on your own barometer of success.
Perpetual confrontation leads to certain defeat. Pick your fights and leave when you're winning.
Damn it, this does apply for me. thanks.
Escape porn.
agree
Amen
6 months without using porn. No effect whatsoever.
What you need are goals. And discipline to develop the habits that will make you reach them. There are no magic formulas or secret lifehacks. All the no fap and no porn trends can be useful to draw a line that marks the beginning of a mindset switch. However, not fapping and not watching porn are not going to make you feel better if you don't do anything else. You need to develop habits that make you accomplish something in order to stop feeling empty and low energy all the time, and you don't really build or accomplish anything by just quitting porn...
Exactly

I never thought of that!

Never.
You usually have to define what "done" means at the beginning. There are some problems that can never be solved, and require constant management.
*Thank.* *You.*
Thanx a lot for this! As i think back i now realize how much this habit has affected my growth and development. However, I am excited because I recently started my own channel where among sharing all types of videos I will Be tracking my progress in achieving my different goals this year!!! Would love the support from anyone thats interested! Thanx again and I’ll be checking out more of your videos!
" the destination sucks, it's the journey thats beautiful "
Good stuff
Good, and true.
Awsome!!
thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just watched the first two minutes of this video!!! Awh yeah!
Just what I was reminded of recently; Golden!
What if you fail, a small conflict should I keep pushing and win the all war even if is difficult or should just give up...
depends on every case, life is a extremely complex place and you might hear a lot of generalizations from humans to make things simple but often life is weirder than you think and very inconsistent from our point of existence so I think the best you can do is think about the correct thing to do in every case and be smart

I'd take it a step further and say there is never victory, there are only steps along the path of improvement. Success along the way is an indication that you are on the correct path, and to be enjoyed in that context. This spring, for the first time ever, I've been able to hit a drive one handed backhand. I've been working on it for 5 years. It feels great to finally be able to hit a proper topspin one handed backhand, but in no way is the journey over. I've gotten more satisfaction from the journey than I have from finally being able to do the thing.
I have to disagree about consistency outweighing intensity. Pure, unconditional enthusiasm is something that allows you to shoot many reps past that original set of ten pull-ups. Consistency most assuredly equals regular progress, but it's important to take joy in your work, as well. I will take the material from this video to heart, though.
While running a marathon, there was a band playing, and the song was, "there's no whisky till it's over"...and that stupid song was in my head for the next 23 miles !!!

This habit is so insidious... I've to thank you because it was a missing piece of my puzzle ^^
This can be applied to a poker tournament
So, I have to learn to be happy with myself, celebrate and eliminate the need to improve.
Agree. Done this mistake many times. :-/
So what have we learned here today ...the celebration at the end of the mission has to be big enough so we want to keep going .... and days.... CONSECUTIVE days are currency and build equity towards a goal.....sporadic days are like creating wholes in swiss cheese... enough of them and the goal is gone.
We must be single focused, non- distracted, in FLOW and addicted to goal actions AND more importantly addicted to RESULT wanted.
.... we MUST be fixated on the 4 things:
TheFEELING we want.
Believe it's possible for us to obtain FEELING thru PLAN OF WORK
Have a clear sight on PLAN OF WORK.
The goal must be a NECESSITY... TO the life u want to feel daily
It depends on the job if in war all the fighter's do is fight moral goes down so they need a happy moment in between moments of horror
Nathan Olson but job not done so may have bad affect on moral if people celebrate to early.

I hope people don't misunderstand this as not enjoying the little things instead of don't let the little things get over your head. Enjoy both the journey and the destination kids.
Are the quotes shown in the video, also in the Book "The warrior Kid"?
When you win a piece in a chess tournament then relax and sit back in your chair and couple moves later you get mated. This video just proved it
This reminds me of Michal Jordan. He only truly celebrated when his team won the Finals.

The warrior who sold his golden trophy most likely got slain on the next fight. The moral should be to savour your achievements along the way.
So damn true
It never ends
May God bless you all
damn I needed this shit
Excellent!
But have you really done enough? 😊
relatable in my case .
But the real issue is balance. When someone is willing to compliment you on something you've done well, you need to at least consider what they're saying to be of some real meaning. If you continue to shrug the small victories off and only strive for the end goal, your goal posts continue to distance themselves and the reward of progress gets lost or ignored. True, don't celebrate too soon. That's sound advice, but many people don't even need to hear that. They are not celebrating at all.
Its not celebrating early thats wrong but becoming overly confident too early that causes distraction from making progress.
WTF, i was just about to celebrate and i stumbled upon this.....
