pretty sure namjoon (from what he's posted on twitter) was in that museum recently too lol. seoul seems like it's never-ending, always something new to see and explore 😍 i often (and now mostly) write things for myself that i just need to write, sometimes i feel bad for not sharing but i think it's also good to just write for the sake of it and for creativity and for just getting things out of your brain (if that makes any sense). stay healthy, we'll be here waiting patiently for your next video ❤️
LMAO when you started to explain that bell is '종' I paused for a second and was like "wait didn't she say she was in 종로? OH WAIT IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE" I love things like this. Similar story, it was so funny to learn words like 물고기 and 콧물 mean fish (water meat) and then runny nose (nose water)
I feel like I ALWAYS comment on how much I love your videos but truly I live for these 20 minutes that allow a break from reality. I always get huge motivations spikes after watching!
I am so amazed by how frequently you post! Every time I get a notification that you've uploaded a new video, I get so excited! The jeju matcha coffee looked amazing! I just ran out of my O'Sulloc matcha collection I had brought home with me from my last trip to Jeju including my green tea chocolate T.T
It truly is sooooo good. Had to cancel my trip back to Korea this year, but am hoping by next May I can visit again and restock. Also your dubu dish looked delicious. I’ve tried many other Maangchi recipes, but never that one. Gonna add it to the list. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Ahh, it's been raining a lot here in New York too! Which always makes me think that Seoul and New York have pretty similar climates even though they are on different sides of the world. We get really hot humid summers with rain and then really windy cold winters, brrr. Loved this vlog, as always!! Especially loved the shot at 16:14 with the reflection in the coffee - so dreamy.
Hi there! I've only been subscribed to your channel since the beginning of the year, but I want to let you know that they bring me such joy! They're one of the few things I look forward to whenever I open RUclips. We're facing some gloomy days here in the U.S (metaphorically speaking), but it's nice to know that I have some pleasant videos from Cari to cheer me up.
This video & the music in particular was so pleasant. It helped me realize I've been so stuck in the stay home & isolate mindset that I haven't gotten to enjoy a walk outside in so long. If only galleries were open again too that would be the best day. Thanks for the reminder to get out and enjoy time wandering😊
I've been subscribed for a while, but I've never commented before. But I just wanted to say, I appreciate your tendency toward the supernatural and fantasy, and how, whenever you're walking in nature, you include music that really underscores your fantasy imagination so we, as viewers, can feel and understand your thoughts without even needing words to let us know. And when you called that one lovely lady in the raincoat a "flower fairy", I found it charming beyond words. I enjoy your videos for giving me those glimpses into Korea that I truly miss (as a Korean who has been living in the US for decades), and I appreciate the calming and soothing nature of your videos. I've also purchased for myself more than a couple of the books you've recommended, so thank you for the new friends and worlds you've helped me discover.
Just wanted to say your videos give me so much peace & positive energy 💗 The editing, music and everything... so perfect! Thank you for your hard work!
I love how you are taking us to so many beautiful places in Seoul.I've been 2 months locked up already, so is really soothing for my soul.Thank you so much Cari :)
Just a tip is to wait until the melon gives when you press on it with your fingers, it has to feel bruised almost and that makes you know it’s perfectly ripe and orange! That was just a very unripe cantaloupe not a honeydew melon, which are usually smooth skinned :)
I know I've already said this many times, but your VLOGS are pure relaxation! Seoul, the nature, your editing - perfect before I leave to work in a few minutes
Yesssss! Lawsy! Spread myself too thin as well. BIG and fun projects completed. Cari. I enjoy all you share! That cafe was so nicely designed! Thank you for taking us along! Be well!
Hi Cari. Your videos are so authentic and realistic but watching them makes me get away from my own reality and stress and frustrations sometimes.. thank you.. this is truly your calling..
Found your channel through Taylor and already love it!!! I was born in Seoul but adopted and live in the US. I’ve only had the ability to go to Korea once a few years ago but am quite fascinated with the city! Thanks for sharing!
Maanchi came up in my recommended videos a week ago and I'm OBSESSED with her now. I'm sure that the algorithm gave me that gift because I watch your videos, so thanks for that. :)
Cari I know you probably get these type of comments all the time but seriously, your videos are not only relaxing but inspiring as well! The fact that you can make your videos look beautiful helps to build this romantic aura about life, but also I love the fact that you keep it 100% real about how you are feeling and also talk about social issues. I just think you're really special, I love this corner of youtube that you have created and please don't ever feel preasure to create content if you're not feeling well. I'm sure all of us just want you to be happy and feel great, that's the most important thing :) Also, I have to add that, personally, you have really inspired me as a woman. Seeing you explore all these places, sometimes alone and sometimes in company, I think it's amazing! Even if you're in a long committed relationship (I am too) I think it's awesome seeing you create your own space through everyday life.
This was such a nice video from that lovely gallery with that beautiful dog and plants scenery, all the cats and that delicious looking 두부조림 which I will have to try some day!
Your videos Cari, always give me such a sense of peace. A true remedy to fix a shitty day. The music is absolutely stunning also! I'm looking forward to when galleries and libraries open back up here in Scotland. Thank you for your videos ❤️
This was a chill video, just what I needed to pry me away from my obsessive reading of Kingdom of Copper ;-; I always find it amazing how you can bring so much beauty and positivity to simple/mundane things. Your videos are great!
As soon as you finished saying you bought a melon I remembered I bought a watermelon earlier today. I paused the video, ran to my kitchen and cut myself a piece. Ok. I seriously fall in love with how you capture everything in your videos every time. I am fascinated with korea, specifically with how even though for example Seoul is such a big, fancy and pretty city, it has so much greenery. I would seriously be so happy to live in a big city with forests in it! I hope I someday get to experience that! Lastly I hope your week goes as planned! Take care. X
Ohhhh my goodness. Did you just call that woman a flower fairy, or am I missing something. Because if you called her a flower fairy, that is the most precious, wholesome thing, and I love it and got teary eyed. I cannot put words to how much I love that wholesome, sweet description of a gentle stranger.
I love watching your vlogs with my matcha in the morning. Thanks for what you do! I really enjoy every single one and the hard work you put in. I'm hoping one day the US can get its shit together so I can come to Seoul. It is like a dream city to me, the gardens and nature there wow. The VIBES.
Love your channel! Your editing and music choices are amazing. I have no idea why but I put your videos in the background while I do yoga in morning and i feel so relaxed afterwards!! haha. Came across your videos by chance and didn't know anything about South Korea at all (and now South Korea is on my must-travel to list ).
Hi Cari! Just passing by to say that your videos are so calming and fun to watch! Especially while having a somewhat stressful day because of uni exams 😥 Hope you stay safe! And I was so convinced that the melon would be orange too 😂 dang it!!
lol ive never washed the outside of a melon but i guess that makes sense the way you store it. i usually cut the rind off and either cut it up into little squares or scoop it as little balls to store
Rainy evening and the next day - brings out all the melancholy feels for some reason. The scenery + music is just 👌👌. I always save your videos for last because every single one of them is such a treat. Thank you for letting me continue to remember Seoul through your eyes❤️❤️
So nice to hear you talk about finding comfort in writing, that just makes me so happy to hear for some reason. This was a beautiful vlog and I’m in love with that painting from the beginning! Enjoy your day of rest and am so excited for your first ever BookTube video! 😊
cari cakes no problem at all 💕💕 I’ve been thinking back and forth about moving to Korea after I’m finished my degree and I came across your channel while searching! I’m still really unsure about a lot but the beautiful scenery is almost winning me over 😩😂
woaaah i’m also mind blown about 종로! i’m also studying korean these days, and i bought a 한자 guide to learn vocabulary through the chinese roots of words and literally EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW!!
looove the b&w intro! anyway a bit tmi but a couple days ago, i was supposed to study for this sunday's big exam but i just couldn't get myself to start. then i decided to watch one of your vids- it hit me hard that i've been so foolish to worry about something that i will finish in 2 hours. your videos make me realize that there are still so much beauty in this world that i haven't seen...and maybe everything will be okay in the end. thank you 💛
This is such an odd timing for me because it’s like 4:30 in the morning here and I was just going to go to sleep but I’m postponing that cuz this is more important hehe thank you for you vlog, it never fails to cheer me up ✨
Ooh I actually got the notification on time! Cari! I’m finally applying to study abroad in Seoul in the spring! Hopefully our borders will be open by then. I’m getting into content creation and multimedia journalism. You’ve been such an inspiration to me and you’ve kept my spirits up for these last few weeks. Stay happy and healthy ❤️❤️❤️
your videos make me feel lot of things and that's big for me, i love how it feels bc it's been a while since i felt something, i guess (?) im glad i found your channel, i luv u cari
Hi, Cari! I just love the way you capture nature and the mood you set for your strolls, feels like I’m there and it is so beautiful, even on rainy days. Stay safe, healthy and keep on! 😘❤️🤟🏼
This was such a nice video from that lovely gallery with that beautiful dog and plants scenery. All delicious looking good which I will have to try some day!
oh cari.. i always love little fun fact like the jongro one and 햇빛 one in the windy hill video!! and I'm sure a lot of people does too.. don't worry about kurt's reaction hahaha and keep them coming!!
We have gold tipped bottle brushes in our garden too, in the UK. Apparently they're originally from Australia. I guess they do well all over the place.
Cari's resident Norwegian is back and I just wanna hang out with Cari because she likes to do all of the things I like and she just comes off as such a wonderful person to talk to💕 Don't worry, you blew my mind about 종로😅😅
Canteloupe is really good for after dinner as it aids digestion. Some people in Australia call it Rockmelon. My dad used to be obsessed with Canteloupe and would eat it daily.
For Spanish learners - the same thing that Cari was describing, I experienced when I learned that "i griega" for the letter Y literally means "Greek I" . I thought it was just a strange word lol
Watching this while is raining on a summer evening. Thanks for sharing as always Cari, looking forward to sit at a cafè in Seoul, writing my thoughts on a little notebook.
I wish I can transport myself to Seoul right now. Your vlog made my end of work day happy! I am going to try the that tofu recipe. It looks delicious! Looking forward to your booktube!!!
i started smiling so big when u were talking about writing your story :) i have this EPIC story that takes place in seoul, maybe one day it'll see the light of day bc it's like a super cool TV series! (it's so hard to explain in one comment) but ahh so excited for ur booktube! i hope someday i can come back to seoul. right now it's kinda hard to plan out my future as i just graduated college and am in southern california quarantined with my parents, but your videos give me hope :)
The fact that Kurt reacted 'obviously..' about Jongro is so funny because I just can imagine him saying that by watching your videos! haha
😂😂😂
Seoul resident here, mindblown by the Jong-ro thing daaaang
hahahahah right!?
pretty sure namjoon (from what he's posted on twitter) was in that museum recently too lol. seoul seems like it's never-ending, always something new to see and explore 😍 i often (and now mostly) write things for myself that i just need to write, sometimes i feel bad for not sharing but i think it's also good to just write for the sake of it and for creativity and for just getting things out of your brain (if that makes any sense). stay healthy, we'll be here waiting patiently for your next video ❤️

right?! and omg nose water...got to love korean being so logical hahaha
@@caricakes something a foreigner would notice.
Don’t forget 눈물!
it’s so weird for me my to wrap my head around the fact that seoul has 10 million people, while the population of my country is at 19 million!
right?!
my country's population is only 4m, imagine my fascination hahaha
hello from indonesia with 200+ million! hahaha
omg right! also apparently Tokyo has more ppl in it than all of canada....that’s just crazy
moominie It’s about the same now, but it’s still crazy: one metropolitan area vs the 2nd biggest country in the world!
I feel like I ALWAYS comment on how much I love your videos but truly I live for these 20 minutes that allow a break from reality. I always get huge motivations spikes after watching!
i feel the exact same way!!

Ahhh it’s so awesome that you’re writing again!!! I swear being filled with a world that exists only in your head is one of the most exciting feelings
yes omg!!!! and character building?! amazing
cari cakes yesss you get to create all these new people to fall in love with 🥰🥰🥰🥰
"Treat it like a baby" she says, as she takes a giant knife out to cut it. Maangchi's videos are an unprecedented tier of humor, lmao.
💯
😭 I just love your channel, my husband says I'm obsessed but I just love the editing, content, etc. Your hard work is noticed keep it up. ❤️

i started smiling so big when u were talking about writing your story :) i have this EPIC story that takes place in seoul, maybe one day it'll see the light of day bc it's like a super cool TV series! (it's so hard to explain in one comment) but ahh so excited for ur booktube! i hope someday i can come back to seoul. right now it's kinda hard to plan out my future as i just graduated college and am in southern california quarantined with my parents, but your videos give me hope :)
