Hi guys! So a few days ago I wandered around the typically "touristy" area of Seoul which is the Bukchon Hanok Village and Insadong area! I personally don't consider it tooooo touristy though because there are tons of locals who go there all the time, it just happens to be a hot spot for visitors too :) I hope you enjoyed this day as much as I did, it was nice to just wander around and discover weird little details like that street with all the portraits. The walk you had around Bukchon Village and Insadong threw me back to our trip in South Korea. We met so many friendly tourists that time, but it was great because we did not plan half of those places we went to and just allowed our feet to map our tour. In fact, when we were trying to find a way to get to Myeondeong since our inn was 200 meters away from Namsan Tower, the people we asked kept telling us to walk and we really ended up walking back to our place! All the way from Insadong! Also, simple video but special because I could spot at least 5 places that we were also visited or wandered into! Some mural have changed but I can tell where those places are. Happy about this! Stay healthy!

Love the Bukchon area of Seoul. I got a personalized tour from a friend who grew up there & whose parents still lived there. She showed me the best places to take photos, told me the history of some of the houses, and we finally ended up at the part overlooking Seoul just as the sun was setting. It was absolutely magical. I hope you continue sharing more of your own meanderings. For those who've never been to Seoul, or, like me, long to return, they give such a lovely taste of all that the city has to offer.

Okay, I LOVE that concept, the photos of the shop owners. It's great advertising for the local studio (if that was even the motive) but also makes shopping in the area suddenly very personal and friendly and human. I really , really think more places should do this. Obviously nowhere with huge chains but I can think of some neighborhoods with lots of small stores that would really benefit from that kind of experience. Who knows how many small shops will survive 2020 but after, after there is real progress with covid, it could help. We always talk about supporting local businesses but I think overwhelming capitalism can make the shopping experience impersonal. And something like this could help remind shoppers that behind those products and services are actual people. Especially because those photos were so friendly and warm.

i miss the hanok village!! funny story, i was trying to find that "photo spot" up the hill where you can see namsan and take photos in hanboks with my mom... but somehow got lost and the sunset so we just came back the next day in our regular clothes to find the spot LOL THIS WAS IN THE WINTER.

Loved this video. I was born in Korea (Busan) but moved to the US when I was 7. I went back to Korea for the first time in November of 2018 and fell in love with Seoul. I loved seeing the quaint neighborhoods and cafes in Insadong and Bukchon Hanok in this video. I recognized some of the streets which was super fun. I want to go back for another visit so badly but of course the current situation doesn't allow for travel, so it is just wonderful to visit vicariously through your videos!

Being a tourist in the place I live is always my favorite activity. Living in Paris, you get bored and blasé from it at some point but just strolling the streets and getting amazed at the beauty of the city makes you fall in love with it every time! Just magical how attitude toward doing something can change your whole perspective.

I was so excited to get the notification! I wasn't at home so had to wait a little to watch it! Also happiness is definitely the smell of a bakery! This is something I miss so much about being in Korea, where I live there are not as many amazing treats and unique places. omggggg I don't usually comment on videos but goshhh when I saw that street with the owners' photos I got goosebumps!! That's the same exact street where I used to do work exchange at! I remember running up and down this street carrying bed linens with my coworkers in the summer heat! And walking past all those exact shops! This brings back soo many memories!!

Probably one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Seoul! I used to be such a Hongdae/Hapjeong/Mapo-gu in general girl but Insasong stole my heart this winter. I wish I was back for a summer trip!

Insadong is one of my favorite places in Seoul. There are so many galleries showing contemporary artists and also can get art materials like raw pigments in the Insa Art Center. And that tea place, haha, an exclusive spectacular selection, but at least they give samples.
