Very thankful for HysterSisters and the Adenomyosis Advice Association!!! My OBGYN is pretty sure I have Adenomyosis from my symptoms and the signs on the ultrasound, and it is super unpleasant to go through! I am going to talk to her soon about surgeons and what else I need to prepare for when it comes to a future hysterctomy. All of this information is SUPER helpful and appreciated!
Thank you for this video. As with others, it's really cleared up some of my concerns. I'm still nervous, of course, but I feel better-informed and more prepared for conversations with my doctor.
i have severe heavy bleeding during my periods which last up 10 days, this with a combination of chronic iron deficiency anemia (4 was the last lab from last week) low hemoglobin count (6-8) and GI (diverticulitis) issues are basically the reasons why I'm considering this procedure. Had a biopsy, along with a pap smear, and ultrasound done yesterday, as well as a round of ferritin infusion. I know from a previous exam that I have a cyst, I'm usually experiecing painful cramps, bloating, and inconsistent bowel movements along with anxiety, and high blood pressure (pending official diagnosis), and intense migraines. My dr prescribed Norenthindrone but I'm scared to take it because I'm a smoker, and read about the side effects in regards to nausea, mood swings, depression etc. She suggested UID but also read the pros and cons and I much rather have a hysterectomy since I already have my tubes tied instead of dealing with up to six months of side effect of the UID. I would prefer to deal with the 6-8 weeks post op rest, I am not working and will have support while recovering, what is your opinion?
Has your doctor ruled out you having Adenomyosis? I know a lot of the uterine issues have similar symptoms of course, but I'm just curious. Most women with Adenomyosis have very heavy periods that can last longer than a week. I don't have heavy periods, but my Adenomyosis causes 2 week long periods a month that are really painful. It's where my anemia came from. A lot of doctors will try you on birth control or an ablation before they think about hysterectomy, especially if you're still fairly young, but I lucked out on an OBGYN who understands that I don't want kids and understands how much this condition sucks to go through.
I’m so anxious I gave myself psychotic symptoms. It’s also made akathisia WORSE!!! I can’t take any meds. What if you have cervical contraction that’s the orgasam?
I've been doing a lot of research of recovery. It seems that gas is the biggest issue that contributes to the pain. What can you suggest to help minimize the gas issue? Is it possible for the surgeon to not use as much gas?
I am TERRIFIED of the single pre-op heparin injection I will get in 3 days! I was doing SO good! But I am phobic about this (have heard nightmare stories!). Am literally nauseated with panic and fear!
Hello. I hope that you are recovering well if you've had your hysterectomy. What is this about a heparin injection pre-op? This is the 1st time I've heard about this
@@SamSkiBaby Some docs routinely order a heparin injection pre-op (to prevent blood clots). They are given in the abdomen. My aunt had several during a hospitalization, and said that they were extremely painful--so that scared me! NO---my injection was NOT painful! I didn't even feel it! The needle is actually quite small. (And my aunt swore that she never said that the heparin was painful--but she DID!). I'm doing very well. Thank you for asking!
If you can, do not get a hysterectomy if you do not have to have one you need your uterus; it is more than just a sex organ. No, your sex life is not the same it is not good the sex sucks .
Thank you for sharing this video. It really cleared up my concerns, and answered my many questions. 1 week post op.

I've read you have no more g-spot orgasms or uterine contractions during orgasm. What if you weren't in pain to start? How would it be better?
