What are the differences of carbon fiber stickers? 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D.

- There are various type of carbon fiber sticker. Currently there is 5 kind mainly the 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D.
The differences between each carbon fiber sticker is their texture and pattern.
2D is flat pattern with glossy look.
3D is rectangular cross sectional cut pattern that creates a 3D in depth matte look.
4D has rectangles intersection with circular cutting pattern within that creates a more in depth look than 3D
5D is basically the glossy look of 3D
6D is another look of 4D matte, which has doubled the size of the cut pattern making its matte glossier.

Hey Boxer I have a question. I have a 350z with a Vader 3 wing waiting to be wrapped but wanted to know what type of wrap the Seibon TS carbon fiber hood is most similar to? I am quite sure it is a twill weave pattern FYI..
Different brands has different printing of the carbon fiber pattern. But my opinion is that the 4D glossy is the nearest pattern to it.

The thickness is all almost the same. But if you are looking at more realistic look. That will be 4d glossy.

a question, I would like to replicate my helmet making it similar to the AGV Pista RR Carbon helmet, but in your opinion which carbon model should I choose to have the same texture as the original AGV Pista RR Carbon helmet? what texture is similar to which model? 5d? 6d?
The AGV Pista PR carbon texture is matte and has more depth. The closest I can suggest is 4d matte.
Imo 6d wins no contest. The depth is crazy

7D and 8D was named by some seller and supplier to let consumer feels that those has more " dimensional" look. But in fact it is just either the 4D or the 6D. These both are same texture but 6D having the bigger pattern than 4D. Both has matte and glossy version, thus the appear of 7D and 8D. These are all marketing gimmicks.

For interior wrap, choose small pattern like 3d, 4d or 5d. Above that the pattern is big and it does not look nice for interior.

3d is matte surface. If you want it to become glossy, you can use those spray type of clear lacquer or protective paint over it.

4D is the most realistic look among the series. Unless u prefer matte look then you can go for 3D otherwise the rest is all glossy.

Personally, I feel 4d glossy is the closest to real carbon fiber texture. You can choose that.

It's the pattern depth. 4d has more depth effect than 5d when you look at it.

If u see carefully, u will notice the difference.
It's different in texture and pattern.
6d is the biggest pattern and the rest more or less same size.
For texture it's either matte or glossy smooth. Matte type u can see and feel the difference of the weave.

5d glossy would be ideal.
I’ve just ordered a 6d & 8D sample before buying a roll. I can’t tell any difference unless the 8D really is 6D?
To what I know from 6D onwards, the pattern should be the same. Just that different seller name it differently.

Which is more black? Or are they all same color shade?
In term of black, they came in glossy black or matte black. Glossy type will look more black than matte type.
