this was a really fun pattern to make to learn some new skills like the front post. i was a bit confused on how do count the stitches to do the hat with the ss+ch1 @_@ but it still turned out cute!
When doing feathers on the body (the 14 sc) do you just build up the row? Example there would be 2 rows of sc in that section compared to the one double row of 14a and 14b. I hope my question makes sense. 😬
Hiya! The whole birdy is 65g, including stuffing and safety eyes. He's 9cm wide x 20cm tall (including the hat, or 10cm without the hat), and about 8cm deep. I think in inches it's roughly 3.5" x 7" x 3" :)
I believe she has mentioned in later videos that she realised because of this pattern that she was crocheting inside out. This was accidental, but if you want to make it as instructed it will have to be inside out, otherwise you would have to change the pattern a bit.
so turns out i somehow work in the opisite direction. wich means while your hook goes from the inside of the work, to the outside, mine goes the other way. this makes securing those feathers realy ffing hard. but ill deal. ill remember to flip it whenever i follow your tutorials in the future.
Now I'm wondering if I stitch weirdly 😆 muscle memory is a tricky thing. I have a couple of ideas you could try: 1. You could try just fastening down the top row, and then stuffing to a mid-level firmness - the feathers should really only stick out if you stuff firmly. 2. Don't fasten any feathers down, just complete the body, then pop around with a darning needle and chuck a stitch in each to sew them down. I hope its not too frustrating!!
@@ComplicatedKnots there's no such thing as stitching weirdly. i've seen so many different styles by different people. some people work back loop only as their set style. the outside of yours just happens to be the inside of mine. its all good. "normal" depends on perspective. i learned all my thechnieques from youtube and written patterns. so i'm surely no expert. for all i know i've been doing it wrong for years. it's fine. i'm gonna try to finish this one the way i've been working. sowing them down is probably a better plan that trying to secure them as you do.
i work from the outside too and i just went rewerse order when doing the feather stich ( through loop closest to inside on the feather and then through both loops) worked perfectly fine for me 👍👍
Hello! This project used bits and pieces from the other 4 Halloween patterns, which is why the list might seem a little odd. The grey and the purple were "4 Seasons Pure Wool 8 ply" - www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/yarn-needle-art/yarn/wool-yarn/4-seasons-pure-wool-8-ply-yarn-50-g/BP80251088 The orange and the yellow were "4 seasons Stallion 8 ply acrylic" - www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/yarn-needle-art/yarn/acrylic-yarn/4-seasons-stallion-8-ply-100-g--everyday-bargain/BP80254900 The white was "4 seasons Marvel 8 ply acrylic" - www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/yarn-needle-art/yarn/acrylic-yarn/4-seasons-marvel-8-ply-yarn-100-g/BP80256541 Honestly though, this project is a stash-buster. To make it again, I would stick with 8-ply acrylic through out. Hope this helps 😊

Well as for your question in the video, you would do the hat last because you need a finished head to size the hat! :)
Hi, I love this guy, making him for the second time, but for the life of me I can't figure out the beak! Please hel!
Hello! i hope you don't mind giving me the measurements of this guy? i just want to know how much yarn i need for this cute owl =)

@@ComplicatedKnots O thank u! Excited to make him XD
I just realized in row 15 that you are working inside out. Is that on purpose?

What type of yarn did you use please
