Hey I just want to say that your channel has immensely helped me delve more deeply into home recording via garageband. It's been a fun journey and having all your guides/info to guide me along the way is invaluable. Thanks for all the hard work!
When I go into GarageBand for Amp Designer it defaults to British Combo. When I select an amp it shows up at the center but I can't remove the British Combo amp at the bottom. How do I remove the Bottom Amp?
its an advanced video. The plug ins are down left in the list where you got your mixing buttons to the side. In the list you find pedalboard and then this view comes up and you can switch.
Thank you for this! I have a bit of a problem were I can’t seem to turn on the pedals. All I get is a dry signal into my headphones. Any idea of what this could be?
I cant seem to find the guitar pedalboard in the latest version 2022 of garageband for iPad. I have found it listed in garageband for Mac. Was it removed ?
Hi there, Do you know of any real live pedals that emulate the Phase 2 Pedal? I am currently on a journey to look for one. I would be awesome if you can lead me to the direction of finding it.
so i can only add pedals once ive added an effect from the library yeah? this changes the eq so should i apply the effect i want before eq'ing the individual track? thanks!
🙌🏼 I used to have that exact same thought! You can actually do some super cool harmonizing on lead parts with a subtle mix of the whammy. Because it's variable, you can automate it to keep it in key of the song even if you wanted to do a 3rd or a 5th. Or more simply it can just be used to pitch an octave up or an octave down. I actually just used it on a bass guitar to have it go up an octave during a transition. Normally I would have just recorded it this way but if you've already recorded the track and don't have time to rerecord the whole part, it can definitely work in a pinch!
Hey Colin, good vid - pretty amazing what all you get at your disposal in a free DAW these days huh? I just downloaded the Tonebridge app for iOS and was completely blown away with what's in there for pedals, amps and the amount you can modify and save your own sounds once you find them. Again, a free app that when combined with GB and what we already have there is just killer why would anyone need to go out and buy a bunch of hardware or purchase a ton more plug-ins with all this at our fingertips?
It truly is amazing. The amp designer/pedalboard was actually one of the first things that made me realize how powerful GB has gotten and pushed me to start this channel! I definitely agree. That said- there’s definitely still something to the analogue world and a limitation of choices that can be freeing in a whole different way. Kind of paradoxical!
@@TheBandGuide yes, good point. Sometimes you can get lost in all this instant gratification with in the box ease of access. Well, at least foe now there is still a place for both to exist in the same universe. Let’s see tomorrow.
I have a love/ hate thing with the pedals. Some are great, some are awful. For chorus/ reverb etc I much prefer using a dedicated plug (platinum verb, space echo, chorus) and parallel processing it. Sounds much cleaner (to me at least)
I definitely know what you mean! Great examples how it’s always best to just listen and decide what sounds best to you. Also good to remember that any pedals and effects running into an amp will take on the amps character where as any processing after can be cleaner and smoother in tone
With the high gain amps and pedals, I've found the trick to dialing them in is the volume knob on my guitar. When I being my instrument volume down, those amps and pedals seem to get way better tone.

Wow, Ryan- thank you! I really appreciate that and look forward to hearing what you make with it!
Thank you for this. The best explanation finally of the difference between an Overdrive Pedal and Distortion Pedal.
Hey that’s awesome to hear! Thanks, Lawrence!
This is a great video. I need to know how to open pedalboard when I have no icon to do so.
Great content, thanks a lot! Have you tried maybe to gig it live? Just curious 🧐
Thanks a lot for bringing out this very informative tutorial. Can I use pedalboard for guitar tracks played on a musical keyboard?
Absolutely!
Thank you for this wonderful informative video tutorial. Much appreciated.

It would be nice to shoe how you got into those pedals. I have no clue where to find them, you just opened your screen and boom, there they are.

I have an issue with noise with the distortions. When I use noise gate lt cuts, the length of the notes is changed. Is there a way out of this ?
Is there a way to select the pedals using shortcuts rather than having to click each pedal with the mouse?
Thank you for this!
I have a bit of a problem were I can’t seem to turn on the pedals. All I get is a dry signal into my headphones.
Any idea of what this could be?
Click on the pedals switch..?
Is the whammy controllable via midi pedal?
dope video bro - i dig pedals - either real or fake - these sound great on drums, synths, vocals (DAYGLOW)
Yes! Love it on all of those. One of my favorite effects on vocals is running through a delay pedal and into an amp. Wild.
what about adding a universal footswitch to control pedals like the wham and wah?
If you use a Blueboard Bluetooth controller you can hook an expression pedal to it.
No latency issue??

intro name? :o epic
What Version of GarageBand is this?
Other than Tom morello, where does one listen to whammy being used? Cheers.

Jennifer Batten and Steve Vai both use that effect. Jennifer Batten does a clinic about Digitec products that you can find online.
Thanks so much

Everything you need to know except how to open it. ;)
Ok i get how to set the pedals BUT can someone please tell me how to connect my guitar to this and the this to an amp
You would need an audio interface
can you rout other sounds thru the amps and pedals?
Definitely! I do it all the time
@@TheBandGuide nice!
thanks for responding
I have iPad version and it seems there are limited pedals.
Good to know!
Go to app store and download the free Tonebridge - think you'll find you have more than enough with that.
You can edit them as well

I didn't watch the whole video because right off you don't show me how to access the pedalboard which is what I was looking for.
This.
Wait....u cant use none of these for Vocals lol?
Oh you DEFINITELY can
@@TheBandGuide Whats the best for vocals?
These electronic patches are nothing compared to commercial stompboxes….ok maybe not behringer
