@@backwashh ah yes a blessing and a curse. Always did earth shatteringly average in school, but teachers would always tell me how intelligent and quick my mind is.
This KEXP performance had two moments I had to stop my first time listening and process what just happened; that moment and when John L turns into a Jaunty pub crawl piano tune. These guys are insane
My word... Cavalcade just came out and we already know LP3 is coming in not very long and this track is amazing and might be on it and if it is, LP3 will be as a amazing as Cavalcade. Hard to believe they have this much great material for a couple records to follow eachother so quickly
i saw them live in November and got there early enough to hear them soundcheck from outside the venue and they kept bursting into The Riff in this song and let me tell you that is something i will never forget, especially when they played it during the set too. might be their best song when it’s finally released.
So tragic. I had to reread his book once I heard the news. It’s the only book that’s made me full on belly laugh to the point of tears, not just a quiet nose snort laugh…. He was so unique. I’m glad us fans can share his comedy and remember the legend he always will be
@@steadyrhythms9571 I genuinely mean no offense at all but i don’t think that’s a good example of Cam’s talent because the vocals and basslines are pretty simple to do on Slow imo. And for the record I’ve played bass and guitar for many years if that helps. Just my opinion! I think Cam’s guitar playing and singing on Still and EME are much more impressive than his work on Slow.
@@mattdrummond3552 yeah that’s fair. i just think some of the chords he plays on it are quite a stretch, or really at least one that comes to mind stretching from the 7th fret to the 11th. and it’s still busier than almost bassist-vocalists pull off from what i have heard. it’s no Geddy Lee on New World Man (probably not the best reference), but still pretty impressive to me. i would agree that EME and Still are even more impressive though, i know Slow is very much playable on bass but i don’t know many people who could pull off flamenco guitar and sing.
The piano should have been in the mix on the record like it was here. I said it and fanboys went loco. I piss on my favourite bands all the time, I'm still gonna see em 20 times!
This is why parents and government need to invest in their creative genius kids. This shit happens.
Amen
Kids with guitars: fuck barre chord indie pop. Learn major 7ths like these guys. Their chord progressions are the sickness

I love how happy he looks at 3:20. He knows how good they sound
I keep replaying the outro and his face gives me a contact high every time
I picked up on that straight away and get a similar buzz thinking how great it would be to not only to create this stuff but to nail it like that...
they certainly seem to be enjoying themselves when they play, and this stuff is contagious!
I think they went wrong a little bit before as well and they got it back together then, so he might have been just relieved haha
@@lucabloor1086 yeah i think he is smiling cuz he knows he went into the flurry too soon but they just power through and it sounds intentional

That soprano sax melody is so sick
3:21 best harmonies I've heard recently in new music. Provoked an epic feeling. Like an exploding sunrise!

It's initially got a fantastic harmonization with the horns, then turns mental
Gives me Near DT, MI vibes
This might the coolest black midi ive heard yet
This was my favourite from the KEXP performance and of course it had to be the only one not on Cavalcade
Really sad this didn’t make it to LP2. Shit is so good, can’t wait for their next album
It was apparently made after they finalised the setlist for Cavalcade

this is just really intense mario kart music
Yes, Mario Kart, with the help of Persona 5, invented jazz, as we all know...
